Senator Chuck Schumer Admits to Spending Over $8,600 on Cheesecake in Under 10 Years

A senator with a sweet tooth!

Sen. Chuck Schumer has admitted that over the past decade he’s spent more than $8,600 on cheesecake.

In a press conference on Sunday, Schumer stated that he was “responsible as charged” after the New York Submit reported his spending on the snack, explaining that slices of cheesecake from Junior’s restaurant in New York Metropolis are his go-to present choice.

“I give them as presents. I exploit them for bets, you understand when somebody needs to guess one thing, you already know for a Brooklyn factor versus a Wisconsin factor,” Schumer advised the group, explaining that he as soon as guess the Brooklyn cheesecake towards Wisconsin cheese, in response to footage of the press conference obtained by CNN.

“So I say to the New York Publish and others, responsible as charged,” he stated.

“I really like Junior’s cheesecake so much. It’s one of the best cheesecake on the planet. It's made in Brooklyn, I’ve been going to Junior’s since I used to be a bit boy, and it’s my guilty pleasure,” he added, holding up a plate filled with cheesecake slices.

Schumer then asked reporters, “Who would really like a Junior’s cheesecake?” before strolling around to move out the decadent dessert to those in attendance. “If everybody shares, there’ll be a lot.”

Juniors has been a New York staple since 1950, and gives some nostalgia for Schumer, who grew up going to the restaurant that now boasts multiple places in the Massive Apple.

The huge sum spent on cheesecake was reported in Federal Election Fee filings between the years of 2009 and 2016, CNN reported, by the Associates of Schumer PAC.

The filings reveal amounts paid to Junior’s ranging from $46 to as a lot as $516 for “supporter acknowledgments,” the outlet stated, adding that the senator’s office stated the cash used to buy the treats did not come from taxpayers.

Whereas Schumer’s press secretary advised CNN that the politician “likes any taste,” they added that the plain taste “permits one to actually savor that Junior’s recipe.”
