Rush Limbaugh is doubling down on his controversial feedback about Pete Buttigieg‘s sexuality and electability — and he says he’s backed by the White House.
Throughout his radio present on Monday, the favored conservative political commentator, 69, responded to the backlash directed towards his recent remarks about brazenly homosexual Democratic hopeful Buttigieg, 38, that disparaged him for being gay.
“A … gay guy kissing his husband onstage next to ‘Mr. Man’ Donald Trump — what’s going to happen there?” Limbaugh stated on air final week, also adding that America was “still not ready” to elect an LGBTQ president.
Limbaugh — who was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom earlier this month after revealing he was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer — now claims that President Trump, 73, reached out to him to inform him to stand by his statements.
He additionally stated he had “no concept” the feedback had “bubbled up” and made headlines.

During an appearance on Fox Information Sunday over the weekend, Buttigieg stated he can be “saddened” if voters align with Limbaugh’s way of thinking in relation to him and husband Chasten’s relationship.
“I am in a trustworthy, loving and dedicated marriage,” he stated. “I’m pleased with my marriage. And I’m pleased with my husband.”
Buttigieg added that he was “not going to be lectured on household values from the likes of Rush Limbaugh or anybody who helps Donald J. Trump because the ethical in addition to political chief of the USA.” (Each Limbaugh and Trump have been married a number of occasions.)
