Kerry unloads on NBC after report he was overheard talking about 2020 bid

DES MOINES, Iowa — John Kerry is meant to be stumping for Joe Biden.

However the former Secretary of State brought on a kerfuffle Sunday after NBC News published a story detailing a phone call Kerry had in a lodge foyer here. Kerry was overheard by an NBC analyst apparently strategizing how he might enter the presidential race now that there was “the potential of Bernie Sanders taking down the Democratic Social gathering — down entire.”

In the dialog, which passed off in the Renaissance Savery lodge downtown, Kerry reportedly stated, “perhaps I'm f---ing deluding myself right here,” then went on to elucidate the steps he would should take if he jumped into the fray, including hitting up wealthy donors who could be frightened by Sanders’ rise.

Coming on the eve of the Iowa caucuses, news of the reported call raised questions on whether or not Kerry doubted Biden’s candidacy and seen Sanders as unstoppable. Kerry stated his phrases have been taken out of context, given just one aspect of the dialog could possibly be heard.
