Ernst: Trump's learned his lesson on foreign interference

Sen. Joni Ernst stated on Sunday she’s confident President Donald Trump won't solicit overseas interference in another U.S. election if he's acquitted as anticipated in the Senate impeachment trial.

“I feel that he knows now that, if he's making an attempt to do certain things, whether it’s ferreting out corruption there, in Afghanistan, whatever it is, he needs to go through the right channels,” the Iowa Republican stated on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Later, Ernst stated she intends to vote for Trump’s acquittal.
