Savannah Guthrie’s first child shares a special connection with Lady Gaga… which they apparently forged while she was still “in utero.”

On Monday, Guthrie and fellow *Today* host Jenna Bush Hager celebrated the news that Mother Monster has welcomed her first child with fiancé Michael Polansky. During the chat, Guthrie — who herself is a mother of two — recalled a memorable interview she had with Gaga back in 2014.

“When I was pregnant with Vale and we didn’t find out if it was a boy or a girl, Lady Gaga came on and she said, ‘I think you’re having a girl,’” Guthrie recounted. “And I said, ‘Really? How do you know?’”

To that, Gaga confessed to having a link with the fetus. “She said, ‘She told me,’” Guthrie gushed. “Isn’t that cute?”

Gaga’s premonition proved to be true. Guthrie went on to welcome her daughter Vale, 12, with husband Mike Feldman later that year. Two years later, the couple also became parents to son Charley, 9.

The Gaga anecdote came as a surprise to Bush Hager, who is godmother to Vale.

“What?!,” she exclaimed. “Vale and Lady Gaga had a connection?”

“I know,” Guthrie replied. “They had a psychic message in utero.”

On Friday, ** learned that Gaga and Polansky welcomed their baby earlier this year. The sex, date of birth, and more information about the newborn weren’t immediately available. The couple has yet to speak publicly about their happy news, though photos of Gaga and Polansky published in Page Six showed the couple strolling around with a baby.

Additionally, a source told PEOPLE on Saturday that “both beam when they talk about being parents.” The couple “both took time off of work this summer to be with baby” and Polansky, 42, “seems lighter, happier,” with the arrival of their child, according to the outlet.

Gaga, 40, has long been open about her interest in motherhood, and months prior to welcoming her new baby, she hinted that a child was on the horizon for her and Polansky.

“I would like to do many things,” she said during an October 2025 appearance on *The Late Show with Stephen Colbert*. “All of these things are open. But what I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope.”

As for Guthrie, the *Today* anchor has spoken openly about the joys of motherhood on the morning show and also reflected on the experience during a 2024 interview with PEOPLE.

“I’ll never get over it,” she said of being a mom, acknowledging that she welcomed Vae at 42 and Charley at 44. “I got to have babies long past the time that anyone would really be hopeful, [and] I had long given up hope.”
