President Donald Trump will bask in America’s favourite pastime this weekend, saying on Thursday that he would attend the World Collection matchup between the Washington Nationals and the Houston Astros in D.C. on Sunday — assuming there is a Recreation 5.
When requested by reporters in the press pool on the White House whether or not he would throw out the first pitch, the president quipped: “I don‘t know. They received to decorate me up in loads of heavy armor — I’ll look too heavy.”
The nation’s capital has Nationals fever after an eight-game profitable streak in current weeks landed the staff within the World Collection for the primary time. Trump, apparently, isn’t immune.
The Nationals took a 2-0 collection lead on Wednesday night time, beating the Astros, 12-3, in Houston. They head to Washington for Video games 3 and four on Friday and Saturday, with a Recreation 5 on Sunday if crucial within the best-of-seven collection.
Friday night time’s contest will be the first World Collection recreation in Washington since 1933, when D.C.‘s group at the time, the Senators, took on the New York Giants. President Franklin D. Roosevelt threw out the primary pitch in Recreation 3. The Giants gained the championship in five video games.
