JERUSALEM — Israel’s president says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ended his quest to type a brand new coalition — a step that pushes the nation into new political uncertainty.
Netanyahu fell in need of securing a 61-seat parliamentary majority in final month’s nationwide election. But President Reuven Rivlin gave Netanyahu the first alternative to type a government as a result of he had more help, 55 seats, than some other candidate.
Netanyahu had hoped to type a broad “unity” authorities with his chief rival, former army chief Benny Gantz. However late Monday, Netanyahu introduced he came up brief.
Rivlin says he will now give Gantz a chance to type a government, though Gantz does not seem to have sufficient help both.
If Gantz fails, Israel might maintain its third election in less than one yr.
