Appearing Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan is leaving the administration, President Donald Trump tweeted Friday night.
"Kevin McAleenan has completed an impressive job as Appearing Secretary of Homeland Security. We now have worked properly together with Border Crossings being method down. Kevin now, after a few years in Government, needs to spend more time together with his family and go to the personal sector.... ....Congratulations Kevin, on a job nicely achieved! I can be saying the brand new Appearing Secretary next week. Many fantastic candidates!”
The transfer comes amid a rolling leadership shakeup on the department. Six different prime division officials have resigned or been pushed out since April, together with former Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.
