Richard Pryor's daughter is still learning more about her late father's fame.

Elizabeth Stordeur Pryor, the third eldest daughter of the comedian, appreciated her father's ability not to get caught up in his own fame. Speaking with PEOPLE about her new memoir, Something We Said: Richard Pryor, a Notorious Word, and Me, the history professor, 59, recalls having "fun" with Pryor growing up.

"I remember he took us to see a show at The Schubert with Sammy Davis Jr. And we got to dress up. And I went to the Oscars when I was a little girl. Those were things that were wonderful and exciting, or even seeing him get on stage and perform," she recalls.

She goes on to explain that Pryor had a "down-to-earthness" that served as a barrier between his family and some of the more chaotic elements of widespread fame.

"It's so hard to know when you only have that one experience, so I can't compare it, but he never really made me feel like we were to be treated differently or anything like that," she explains.

"And I tell this story in the book tangentially, which is I remember Black people especially loved my father and really felt of him as a kindred spirit who was speaking on their behalf. And so very often, if they saw him, they would just yell out of a car like, 'What up, Rich?' stuff like that. And he would wave."

Stordeur Pryor recalled a time when she was younger and told her father that being approached by fans was "scary."

"I once said to him, 'I don't like that. That's scary.' And he said, 'The only thing to worry about is when they stop,' " she recalls.

"I took that to heart. So I think he appreciated that people appreciated him and was humble on stage and off."

While the author was born in Boston, she moved to Los Angeles while she was growing up. She recalls everything feeling "dramatic and shocking."

"It was almost like a movie set in the way that I experienced it. I went from the more sheltered life that I came from, then my dad lived on two and a half acres in Northridge. We flew first class when he took us on vacations. And on the other hand, my mother was still working as a secretary and trying to make her ends meet for us," she acknowledges.

"The worlds were so different. I literally lived in two different worlds," Stordeur Pryor recalled. "I can't help but think about Alice in Wonderland every time I look back and think of my stories, trying to figure out all the different characters and players and where I fit in terms of them."

When she looks back at building her relationship with Pryor, the scholar says it was "dizzying and exciting."

"I loved him from the minute I saw him, from the minute I saw him. I was like, 'Give me more, give me more, give me more.' And I pretty much felt that way, honestly, until he died. I really wanted to connect with him, wanted to know he loved me, wanted to be enough for him," she shared.

"He was an amazing person, too. He was fun to be with at times. I mean, there were some unfun things, of course, but there was a way in which he was engaged and deep and connected to the people that he was around in a way that my mother simply... she wasn't a creative. And I think maybe that was a product of his being a creative, that made it so special and sometimes terrifying to be around him."

Ryan Reynolds is looking back on being hit by a drunk driver while walking through Vancouver at 18.

Reynolds "spent four weeks in the hospital" after the collision "broke every bone in my left side," he recently told Rob McElhenney.

The Deadpool star gave a shout-out to the doctor "for putting me back together."

Ryan Reynolds survived tragedy and lives to tell the tale.

The story of sustaining gruesome injuries after being hit by a drunk driver isn't one that Reynolds has told often, though it happened over 30 years ago. But during an interview with Rob McElhenney for GQ published Tuesday, the Deadpool star walked back down memory lane to one of the darker spots in his past.

"I got run over by a drunk driver after making a firmly positive and wise decision for a young, 18-year-old male. Spent four weeks in the hospital," Reynolds said.

"That's the first time I've heard that!" Reynold's friend and Wrexham AFC co-owner exclaimed.

"Oh yeah, broke every bone in my left side," Reynolds continued. "He hit me so hard, his car was not operational."

He jokingly added, "I'd like to thank Dr. Meek at the General Hospital for putting me back together so kindly. Socialized medicine, he couldn't say no."

The accident occurred in the Canadian's hometown of Vancouver. By the time of the crash, he'd appeared on a season of the teen drama Hillside (also known as Fifteen) and the fantasy series The Odyssey. But his career was still very much in its infancy, before the big break of 2002's Van Wilder.

Reynolds identified his age at the time of the crash as 19 in a 2019 interview, explaining in a brief aside, "I was 19 in Vancouver, Canada — drinking age is different there — and I'd had a couple of drinks and I didn't want to get in my car, obviously, because that's insane. I walked home, and on my way home, I got hit by a drunk driver. I was like, 'Thanks karma!'"

Reynolds and McElhenney's friendship goes back years, which added to the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star's shock when he heard Reynolds' tale.

Around the time of the release of 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine, Reynolds admitted that he planned for McElhenney to cameo in the film, and even shot the scene in question. But it ended up on the cutting room floor.

"Rob very kindly did a cameo in [Deadpool & Wolverine], which will hopefully live on in the digital extras," he said at the time. "While editing a movie, they say you 'sometimes have to kill your darlings.' And with a heavy heart (and through great outside intervention) I had to kill a darling with this cameo."

Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, and Will Friedle are opening up about their falling out with Boy Meets World costar Ben Savage.

In the new documentary Doc Meets World, the costars hosts claim Savage blocked their numbers after multiple attempts to involve him in the Pod Meets World rewatch podcast, which launched in 2022.

Elsewhere, Friedle says he endeavored to call Savage "every day" until he responded, and Strong says he feels "sorry that he's missing out" on their reunion experience.

It's been four years since Boy Meets Worldalums Will Friedle, Danielle Fishel, and Rider Strong were last in regular contact with their costar, Ben Savage — and they're ready to talk about why.

In the new documentary, Doc Meets World, which premiered on June 6 at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, the former sitcom staples unpack what went on between 2022 — the launch of their rewatch podcast, Pod Meets World, and the last time any of them say they were on friendly terms with Savage — and today. As of 2026, Savage has gone radio silent, a subject Doc Meets World wrestles with, knowing that ultimately, it cannot be fully understood.

Doc Meets World features a scene shot backstage at a Pod Meets World live show in which Strong asks Friedle if he'd feel comfortable texting Savage. Friedle ponders and prevaricates before showing his text thread with the actor who played his brother on the ABC teen sitcom for eight years. Savage hasn't responded to a text from Friedle since April 2020.

Savage played series lead Cory Matthews across the series run, with Fishel playing his crush, girlfriend, and then wife, Topanga Lawrence. Strong played Cory's best friend, Shawn Hunter, and Friedle played his brother, Eric Matthews. They claim that their communications with Savage began freezing over as they prepared to launch Pod Meets World in 2022. While Savage was at first friendly but disinterested in their attempts to involve him in the podcast, they claim he grew less responsive, before unfollowing them all on Instagram and blocking their numbers. In Doc Meets World, Friedle shows how his iMessages switched from blue to green, potentially denoting a block.

It wasn't just Friedle, either. Last week, Fishel recently reflected that it "makes me sad sometimes when I think about the fact that I would love to just know, like, 'How's it going? What's happening now? What are the milestones that are being checked off?'"

Friedle's campaign to re-establish contact

Friedle may not have been the only one ghosted, but he did respond the most decisively. In one Doc Meets World scene, he shows a message sent to Savage that read, "Just FaceTimed you. I'm going to call you EVERY DAY until you pick up or tell me to stop."

The 49-year-old told Savage that after knowing each other for 25 years, "you don't just get to ghost me."

A message Strong sent to Savage while filming the documentary turned blue, leading the costars to think Savage may have unblocked at least one of them. But Doc Meets World does not contain any scenes in which Savage reaches back out.

Strong says he and Savage were "never close"

Despite playing best friends for nearly a decade, Strong says in Doc Meets World that he and Savage were "never close." Still, he notes that he still texts Savage at least once a month, hoping that he'll respond.

Back around the time of Pod Meets World's launch, Strong said that he and Savage "didn't connect for the first week of the show," which he chalked up to Savage being a "Northern California snob" who thought "everything about L.A. was awful." Including, apparently, Strong, a California native who went to Los Angeles' Occidental College for school.

Fishel expresses hope that the sitcom's core four will reunite and renew their old bonds one day.

She reiterated the sentiment in an interview with ScreenRant on June 5, when she noted, "I don't think it's the end of our story. We have until we're dead in the ground."

On June 3, she told PEOPLE that she understands Savage's decision to not participate in their rewatch podcast.

"I would never try to shove that perspective down somebody's throat and make them do it, and it wasn't for him," she said. "And so I understand that. I'm not upset about that. I think when the time is right, our story of our friendship will continue, and if not, then I'm wrong."

New York Knicks star Ogugua "OG" Anunoby Jr. was raised by a single father who helped shape both his character and his basketball career.

OG was born on July 17, 1997, to Nigerian parents, Ogugua Chigbogu Damian Anunoby Sr. and Grace Ndidi Okereke, who married in London in 1988. After Grace died of cancer in 1998, when OG was just 1 year old, his father took on the responsibility of raising him and his six siblings.

"It was tough not having a mother, but my dad did a really good job raising us," Anunoby told Sportsnet after being selected in the 2017 NBA Draft.

The family settled in Jefferson City, Mo., where Ogugua Sr. worked as a professor at Lincoln University. A firm believer in education, he required his son to read for an hour each night, but he also encouraged OG's athletic pursuits from an early age.

OG has since emerged as one of the NBA's premier players and helped lead the Knicks to the 2026 NBA Finals.

Here's everything to know about OG Anunoby's late parents.

Grace was an athlete, and Ogugua Sr. was a college professor

Ogugua Sr. was born on Aug. 15, 1952, in Akwa Village, Nigeria, according to his obituary. His wife, Grace, was also from Nigeria and competed nationally in track and field.

"Their mother was a champion athlete," Ogugua Sr. told Sportsnet, crediting his late wife for his children's athletic abilities. "She was a sprinter, she was a jumper — she was very competitive."

After earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Nigeria, Ogugua Sr. moved to London for graduate school, where he and Grace later welcomed OG. He went on to earn a master's degree from the University of Strathclyde, an MBA from the University of Glasgow and a Ph.D. from Brunel University of London.

Throughout his academic career, Ogugua Sr. taught at the University of Lagos and Oxford Brookes University before joining Lincoln University in Missouri, where he served as a professor from 2001 until his death in 2018.

OG has six siblings

OG is one of seven children, including Adaeze, Adaora, Chigbogu "Chigbo," Ogonna, Ifeoma and Olisamaka. According to Ogugua Sr.'s obituary, he was the father of all seven children, though it is unclear whether he shared them all with Grace.

"I do not intend to be immodest, but we tried to raise a proper family," Ogugua Sr. told Sportsnet. "And when I say proper, what I mean is we are people who do things well. We value hard work, order and success. You don't talk unless you have to talk. And if you have to talk, you should say something that doesn't take away from the conversation, but enriches it."

Athletics run in the family. OG's older brother, Chigbo, played defensive tackle at Morehouse College before pursuing a professional football career. After signing with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2012, he spent time with several NFL organizations.

Ogugua Sr. thought OG would be a baseball player

As a child, OG showed promise on the baseball diamond as a pitcher, and his father initially encouraged him to pursue the sport. But basketball soon won OG over.

While speaking to Sportsnet, Ogugua Sr. recalled the future NBA star asking for a basketball hoop for the family's backyard — and not just any hoop. OG had his eye on a top-of-the-line, 12-foot adjustable model that cost several hundred dollars.

"I said to him, 'You have to promise to actually use it. You will make sure that we have value for money,' " Ogugua Sr. said. "It turns out, it was a very good investment."

Grace and Ogugua Sr. died in 1998 and 2018, respectively

Neither of OG's parents lived to see him become an NBA champion with the Toronto Raptors or help lead the Knicks to the NBA Finals. Grace died of cancer on May 12, 1998, when OG was 1 year old, and his father died on Sept. 27, 2018.

As the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback prepares for his upcoming 10th season in the NFL, Randi penned a special tribute to Patrick on social media on Wednesday, June 10.

"These years in the NFL have flown by, but watching you step into your purpose and chase your dreams has never stopped feeling special.🤍," Randi began in the post alongside a carousel of seven photos of their family, including Patrick's wife Brittany Mahomes.

"Looking back through these photos just reminds me how far you've come and how much heart you've put into every single season. I am so proud of the man you are, on and off the field. Here's to your 10th year!," Randi continued. "To years of dedication, resilience, doing what you love, and to many more chapters ahead! I love you!"

Chiefs fans showed their support on Randi's post and shared their excitement for the upcoming season. "It's been a great 10 years We've loved following the journey and cheering for #15 and the Chiefs," wrote one fan.

NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday that the Chiefs added two more seasons onto Mahomes' contract, tying him to Kansas City through the 2033 season at a value of $504.75 million. This is the first NFL deal valued at over a half-billion dollars, according to ESPN.

Mahomes, who has played his entire career with the Chiefs since being drafted in 2017, is set to return to the field in 2026 after tearing his ACL last year.

An exact date for the quarterback to return to the field has not yet been made known, but conspiracy theories began swirling that he'd be ready to go when the season started after the schedule showed the Chiefs playing two primetime games in the first two weeks.

Fans assumed that the primetime scheduling meant the league had inside knowledge that Mahomes would return, but the NFL shut down that rumor in a statement to the on May 15. "We didn't know anything more than anyone else," said NFL executive Hans Schroeder.

In 2024, Randi recalled a young Patrick being her "little best friend" as a kid. "We were together 24/7, and I learned with him. He made me grow up in a good way, in a great way. Being a mother is my favorite thing sometimes, and sometimes it's hard, but it is my favorite thing, and I always say, 'Where would I be without it?'"

Leelee Sobieski is enjoying a beautiful birthday in New York City.

The retired actress, who turns 43 on June 10, was seen enjoying a stroll through the streets of the city on the occasion. The actress is rarely seen since leaving acting in 2012.

Sobieski shot to fame with some impactful roles in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She starred in Deep Impact (1998), Never Been Kissed and Eyes Wide Shut (both 1999), Here on Earth (2000), Joy Ride and The Glass House (both 2001).

Today, Sobieski focuses her creative efforts on visual arts, as seen on her Instagram, which bears her married name, Leelee Kimmel. She married designer Adam Kimmel in 2010.

Her large-scale, colorful abstract paintings are inspired by what she's feeling in life, she shared with Vogue in 2012. "When I look at it, I experience all these feelings about motherhood and being in love with Adam. It has the corniest things attached to it, but also it's, like, life," she said.

It was the passion and pride she felt in her personal life that led Sobieski away from acting. She shared, "Ninety percent of acting roles involve so much sexual stuff with other people, and I don't want to do that."

"It's such a strange fire to play with, and our relationship is surely strong enough to handle it, but if you're going to walk through fire, there has to be something incredible on the other side."

In a 2017 feature in Interview Magazine, Sobieski talked about getting into acting to help her family financially, but then her career took off, leaving her creatively locked in to a medium that wasn't her preferred one.

"I always said, 'I don't want to act. I paint,' " she recalled. When she'd share this with her parents, they replied, "You can't say that, because it sounds like you're not grateful. You are grateful, so you have to hold it in."

In more recent years, Sobieski has turned her love of art to VR art, something that felt natural to her because, "I've always been lost in time and space."

"When I first started doing VR, I was like, 'Ahh! I feel space this way,' " she continued, noting her pride in where her career has taken her.

"The fight in life is always worthwhile, no matter what the end result is."
