Hollywood power couple crosses the border as legal tensions mount over feuding costars
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were recently seen in Canada after missing Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Madison Square Garden wedding. The outing came during another busy week in the aftermath of Lively’s legal dispute with Justin Baldoni.
According to TMZ, Lively and Reynolds appeared relaxed during the Canada outing, where they were seen shopping and dining casually. The story surfaced days after the couple’s absence from Swift’s July 3 wedding became a headline.
Lively and Reynolds did not attend Swift and Kelce’s wedding or rehearsal dinner. Instead, the couple had been seen spending time as a family in Lake Placid, New York, where their daughter, Betty, competed in a horse show.
The timing has kept conversations about Lively’s relationship with Swift in the spotlight. Their friendship has been the subject of speculation after Swift was drawn into the legal dispute between Lively and Baldoni. Swift was subpoenaed in the case in 2025, though her team said she had no involvement in It Ends With Us beyond licensing one of her songs.

Meanwhile, Baldoni has also returned to the public conversation. In a July 8 Instagram video with his wife, Emily Baldoni, the actor spoke about the “trauma” and “pain” he said his family experienced during the legal battle.
Lively and Baldoni settled their dispute in May 2026, shortly before the case was scheduled to go to trial. However, legal proceedings related to the matter have continued. Lively has since sought more than $8 million in attorneys’ fees and costs related to Baldoni’s dismissed countersuit.
For now, Ryan Reynolds’ appearance in Canada may simply reflect a family outing. However, the timing coincides with renewed attention surrounding the legal dispute, the couple’s absence from Swift’s wedding, and Baldoni’s recent comments.
