WWE star CM Punk was emotional after dropping the Royal Rumble.
In newly released footage from the WWE, the Raw wrestler was captured breaking down in tears as he exchanged words with Cody Rhodes backstage.
Not solely did CM Punk lose the Royal Rumble on Saturday, however he also tore his triceps, putting any probability of a WrestleMania foremost event unsure.
Following the 30-man Rumble and a second-place finish to Rhodes, the 45-year-old had a heartbreaking backstage trade.
The WWE released the footage on Wednesday with three heartbroken emojis as a caption.
In the brief 10-second clip, Punk and 'The American Nightmare' share a hug.
"Finish your story, bro," Punk stated, holding again tears.
On X, previously generally known as Twitter, fans reacted to the behind-the-scenes second.
"Get nicely soon, champ," one wrote.
"This is touching," a second stated.
"This broke me," one other added.
"I'm heartbroken," a fourth famous.
Now that Rhodes is the 2024 Royal Rumble champion, he can either choose to wrestle the World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins, or The Bloodline's leader, Roman Reigns, at WrestleMania in April.
Cody, the son of legendary WWE celebrity Dusty Rhodes, has vowed to "finish his story."
WrestleMania 2024 is a two-day event on April 6 and 7 from a sold-out Lincoln Financial Area in Philadelphia.
In the meantime, CM Punk will miss WrestleMania XL as a result of right arm restoration.
