Cris Collinsworth tells Mike Evans he "has to make that call easy" for ref on NBC broadcast after controversial decision

CRIS Collinsworth criticized Tampa Bay Buccaneers star extensive receiver Mike Evans in the course of the NBC broadcast after a controversial determination.

The sequence occurred within the fourth quarter of the Buccaneers' brutal 31-23 divisional spherical loss to the Detroit Lions.

With the Lions up 31-16, Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield threw a 16-yard touchdown to Evans with 4:37 left in the fourth quarter.

The Bucs elected to go for the two-point conversion, but they did not convert after an incomplete Mayfield fade throw to Evans in the endzone.

Nevertheless, Evans needed a cross interference penalty referred to as on cornerback Ifeatu Melifonwu, who was draped on the Bucs wideout.

But the officers didn't throw a flag as the score remained 31-23.

Alongside Mike Tirico, Collinsworth believed that Evans didn't promote the penalty in the course of the play, saying he "has to make that decision straightforward" for the official.

NBC skilled rules analyst Terry McCaulay joined in and stated "good no call" relating to no flags on the play.

And Collinsworth agreed with the retired 19-year NFL official.
