Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the former chief spokesman for President Donald Trump, tweeted an apology to Joe Biden Thursday night time after mocking the previous vice chairman’s reference to stuttering at the sixth Democratic presidential debate.
“I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I hhhave completely no concept what Biden is speaking about. #DemDebate,” the former White Home press secretary wrote in a now-deleted tweet through the PBS NewsHour/POLITICO debate. Biden had just referenced talking with a "little kid who says I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I can not speak, what do I do?"
Sanders’ comment, which appeared to mock a speech impediment Biden has struggled with throughout his life, triggered an eruption of indignant responses on Twitter.
“To be clear was not making an attempt to make enjoyable of anybody with a speech impediment,” she tweeted in an try and defend her preliminary remark. “Merely stating I can’t comply with much of anything Biden is speaking about.”
