
Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg has resigned from his publish because the aerospace corporation’s chief government and relinquished his seat on its board of administrators following a collection of controversies this yr related to the 737 Max airplane.
Boeing introduced in a brief statement Monday that the corporate’s board had named its current chairman, David Calhoun, to take over as chief government and president on Jan. 13.

Boeing stated its board had “determined that a change in management was needed to restore confidence in the Company shifting forward as it works to restore relationships with regulators, clients, and all different stakeholders.”
In the firm’s statement, Calhoun stated: “I strongly consider in the future of Boeing and the 737 MAX. I'm honored to lead this great firm and the 150,000 devoted staff who are working onerous to create the future of aviation.”
Muilenburg had served as Boeing’s CEO since 2015 and because the firm’s president since 2013.
