"Believe" it or not, "Ted Lasso" is coming back, sooner than you think.

Apple TV's Emmy-winning comedy is returning for a fourth season this summer, the streamer announced Jan. 28. The streamer also released first look photos showing Ted and friends back in action on the soccer pitch, albeit with a new team running drills.

"Lasso," starring Jason Sudeikis as the American coach of a Cinderella-soccer team in the British Premier League, last streamed in May of 2023. The end of Season 3 featured an emotional finale that man fans thought spelled the end of the series for good. However, Apple announced in 2025 that the show would return for a fourth season with a few changes.

According to a news release, Season 4, currently in production, will feature Sudeikis' Ted taking on a new coaching gig. "Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team," the synopsis reads. "Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would."

In addition to Sudeikis, the new season also features returning cast members Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift. New faces in Season 4 include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely. Several supporting characters from the first three seasons of "Lasso," such as Nick Mohammed's Nate and Phil Dunster's Jamie Tartt, have not been announced as part of the Season 4 cast.

The show's first three seasons followed college football coach Ted as he is recruited from Kansas to coach a British soccer team, AFC Richmond. By the end of Season 3, Ted said goodbye to the team and moved back home to the U.S. to be with his son, Henry (Gus Turner). Sudeikis and his fellow "Lasso" producers had said in interviews that a three-season arc was planned from the start of the series.

But despite the finality of the end of Season 3, which also tied up many stories for the supporting characters, Apple never explicitly confirmed that it was the end of "Lasso." After years of fan and media speculation that the show could continue in some form, a fourth season was officially announced in March of 2025. Filming began later that year in Kansas City and London.

Since its debut in 2020, "Ted Lasso" has been nominated for 61 Emmys and won 13, including outstanding comedy series in 2021 and 2022.
