Stephen Colbert is blasting Melania Trump's forthcoming documentary ahead of its opening weekend. **
The late-night host ripped into Amazon MGM Studios' first lady doc on Tuesday's episode of *The Late Show,* noting that it is widely projected to bomb at the box office and sharing screenshots of multiple screenings that feature "zero tickets sold" across the country. **
"The new Melania documentary hits theaters on Friday," Colbert began, before the audience began to boo. Coming to its defense, he teased, "Oh, no, no, it looks fantastic. It's a real peek behind the curtain at a woman picking out curtains."

Colbert went on to share a clip of Trump's wife promoting the film on *Fox & Friends *earlier that day. In it, Melania explains that the film showcases her business, "my philanthropy, family, preparation for the inauguration, and also establishing the East Wing" of the White House. The latter of which, of course, has since been bulldozed in order to create her husband's ballroom. **
"Madam First Lady, I have some terrible news," Colbert joked after the clip. "Let's just say, the East Wing no longer… be best. Or be there."

The comedian went on to note that Amazon has not only "bribed a whopping $40 million" to secure the movie deal, but also spent "an additional $35 million" on its marketing, promotion, and distribution.**
"So big box office, right? Wrong," Colbert said. "Social media has been flooded with images of theaters in major cities that haven't sold a single seat. And estimates are that this $75 million movie would make only $1 or $2 million in its opening weekend."

To prove his point, Colbert shared a screenshot of a Jacksonville theater with no seats sold. "Now, usually, to see Trump bomb this hard, you'd have to be on a Venezuelan fishing boat," he quipped. **
So, Colbert did a little digging for himself. "We checked," he said. "And here in New York City, where Melania lived and worked and socialized for decades, in Trump's hometown, on Saturday night of opening weekend at the Regal and AMC Times Square cinemas, there are two 7:30 showings with exactly zero tickets purchased."**
He then shared two similar screenshots that featured theaters full of empty seats. "That's the crossroads of the world!" Colbert exclaimed as the crowd cheered. "It's literally the busiest blocks on the planet!"
He continued, "Zero tickets sold at the AMC. That must be heartbreaking for the first lady."
Since Colbert's monologue aired last night, two tickets have been sold for the 7:30 AMC screening in Times Square, but the Regal screening still remains without a single attendee.**
Titled *Melania*, the documentary is director Brett Ratner's first film since being accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women in 2017. It is set to have its official premiere at the Kennedy Center on Thursday, just one month after Trump's takeover of the venerated establishment, but an advance screening of the film was also held at the White House last weekend.
The screening was attended by Mike Tyson, Queen Rania of Jordan, Apple CEO Tim Cook, photographer Ellen von Unwerth, Tony Robbins, Erika Kirk, and Amazon execs Mike Hopkins and Andy Jassy, per *The Hollywood Reporter*.
*Melania* arrives in theaters on Friday. Watch Colbert discuss the film in the clip above.
