Kissing Superman is apparently not all it's cracked up to be.

Iliza Shlesinger offered a remarkably frank assessment of an onscreen kiss she shared with her costar Tom Welling on the red carpet at the Sundance Film Festival premiere of their new film, *Chasing Summer*.

In a video that the *Smallville* star's wife, Jessica Rose Lee Welling, shared to her Instagram on Sunday, Shlesinger lays a hand on her costar's chest. Catching herself, she jokes to Jessica, who holds the camera, that she'll place her hand on her own chest instead.

"I kissed your husband in the movie," she proceeds. "But he was really sweaty, so don't worry. It was like kissing a Honey Baked Ham."

Jessica then zooms in on her husband, who flashes her a toothy smile.

"This is nothing I don't know," Jessica could be heard joking back, ultimately captioning the post, "What it's like to kiss my husband in the middle of St. Louis summer, according to [Iliza Shlesinger]."

The Wellings' stroll down the paparazzi line at Tom's Sundance premiere marks his first time back on a red carpet in five years. The last time he stepped out with Jessica, whom he married in 2019, was at a polo match at the Will Rogers State Historic Park in Pacific Palisades, Calif., in 2021.

Though Tom has worked steadily in Hollywood since he ended his run as the man of steel on *Smallville *in 2011, he has largely stayed outside of the spotlight, having left Los Angeles with Jessica and their two children to raise horses on a ranch.

*Chasing Summer *marks the latest effort from *Madeline's Madeline *director Josephine Decker. Shlesinger, a stand-up comedian best known for her comedy specials on Netflix, wrote the screenplay for the film, which follows a woman's unexpected return to her Texas hometown after decades away.

The film costars Garrett Wareing, Lola Tung, Cassidy Freeman, and Megan Mullally.
