A KMART shopper has shared their thoughts relating to the store's new coverage on receipt checks.
The consumer took to social media to air their grievances, sharing a narrative of how Kmart is now enabling receipt checks with a purpose to get clients to assume that they care about theft.
The consumer, whose username is Maggie Might, made their publish as a reply on X, where another customer was criticizing giant supermarkets for using self-checkout counters and receipt checks.
"Has anyone else had a gut filled with the large supermarket and retail shops treating us like slaves packing our personal purchases and then treating us like thieves as we walk out the door?" read the primary post.
Maggie Might revealed that they knew somebody employed at Kmart, and that the store didn't care about theft itself.
"Checking your receipt at Kmart is nothing greater than a ploy to make us assume they're critical about theft," reads the submit.
"They're not. I do know someone who worked in the workplace of a type of massive corporations. They never examine safety cameras," they continued.
"They'd need to pay someone to try this."
Maggie Might shared more of their thoughts in a separate publish, concluding that Kmart would quite "issue the cost of theft into the worth of products."
"We pay extra within the long-run," they concluded.
Last yr, it was reported that Kmart shuttered one in every of its three remaining US shops.
On September 30, Kmart closed its final store in New Jersey.
As of this writing, there look like solely two Kmarts left within the US, with them stores situated in Florida and New York.
At its peak, the store had over 2,000 places across the nation.
