A JOCKEY who was left preventing for her life after a sickening fall says she is simply 'grateful to nonetheless be right here'.

Kelsey Hannan, 21, was airlifted to hospital with a damaged back after being launched head-first into the turf when her horse cannoned into one other.

The jockey had been racing in Adelaide, Australia, when the devastating fall occurred – however is already planning when she will get again into the saddle.

Hannan stated: "It might have been rather a lot worse, and I could not have been here so I just should be grateful that I'm still here.

"It does occur so it's simply something we've got to work around and use it as a bit of gasoline to get again and get hungry for extra wins.

Hannan's traumatic fall came simply three months after she broke her jaw and had to have a ugly surgery involving the insertion of screws and a plate into her face after being headbutted by a horse.

Throughout her recovery period she stated: "It was very gutting however with horses this stuff happen and you may't actually tell when it's going to occur.

"The swelling is going down, I've received an enormous, ugly bruise on my chin but general I feel the therapeutic goes OK."

"I'm on a puree food plan for six weeks."

When she finally obtained back to the monitor, the younger jockey was flying excessive, touchdown a powerful six winners in 4 weeks, before disaster struck again on horse Iva Dream.

Fortuitously the horse was unhurt, although did maintain minor cuts to her legs. 

Now Hannan is about for an additional lengthy recovery interval earlier than returning to race once more.
