Alexis Levine and Linnea Capobianco were voted off “Survivor” Wednesday night, with Linnea leaving after a rare Tribal Council deadlock.

Alexis was voted out 3-1 at the first Tribal Council. At the second, Linnea and Lewis Kelly tied 4-4 twice, forcing Eric Macksoud, Danny “Kilby” Kilby, Sharonda Cox and Cristian Chavez to reach a unanimous decision or risk drawing rocks. With Kilby refusing to budge, the group ultimately agreed to send Linnea home.

Who got voted off Survivor tonight?

Alexis Levine was the first castaway voted off Wednesday night during Episode 5.

Alexis was voted out 3-1, with Devin Way, Angelica "Jelly" Loblack and Ori Jean-Charles voting for Alexis. Alexis cast the lone vote for Devin.

Who was the second person voted off Survivor tonight?

Linnea Capobianca was the second castaway voted off Wednesday night after the Dina Tribal Council deadlocked twice.

Linnea and Lewis initially tied 4-4, and the revote produced another 4-4 tie.

That left Eric, Kilby, Sharonda and Cristian needing to reach a unanimous decision. If they failed to agree, those four would have been forced to draw rocks.

Kilby refused to change course, leaving the others to either risk their own games in a rock draw or agree to eliminate Linnea. They ultimately agreed to send Linnea home.

What were the Survivor vote results tonight?

First Tribal Council

Voted off: Alexis Levine

Vote count: 3-1

Votes for Alexis: Devin Way, Angelica “Jelly” Loblack and Ori Jean-Charles

Vote for Devin Way: Alexis

Second Tribal Council

Initial vote: 4-4 tie between Lewis Kelly and Linnea Capobianco

Revote: 4-4 tie

Deadlock: Eric Macksoud, Danny “Kilby” Kilby, Sharonda Cox and Cristian Chavez had to reach a unanimous decision or draw rocks

Result: Linnea voted out after the group reached a unanimous decision

Who won immunity on Survivor tonight?

Toka won immunity during “Survivor” Season 51 Episode 5, making it the only tribe safe from Wednesday night’s vote.

The challenge came with “double jeopardy,” sending Dina and Savu to separate Tribal Councils, where two castaways are at risk of being voted out.

Were any idols or advantages played on Survivor tonight?

Yes. Two Extra Votes were played at Dina's Tribal Council, helping force the vote into a deadlock.

Earlier in Episode 5, Maggie Nestor received an Alliance Builder Extra Vote and chose to visit Dina. Maggie gave that vote, along with the Extra Vote she already held, to Danny “Kilby” Kilby and Lewis Kelly and urged them to target Linnea Capobianco.

Kilby and Lewis both played the Extra Votes, helping create the initial tie between Lewis and Linnea.

Current Survivor 51 idols and advantages:

Carter Krull: Hidden immunity idol

Angelica "Jelly" Loblack: Hidden immunity idol

Devin Way: Extra vote

Survivor 51 host Jeff Probst reacts to the big rock-draw-that-wasn’t after one side blinked in a high-stakes game of chicken.

The host also credits the victim for taking the ouster (relatively) in stride.

Probst also weighs in on six women in a row getting voted out to start the game. That’s a lot!

The original Savu majority on the new Savu tribe seemed to have it in the proverbial bag when they walked into Tribal Council on this week’s episode of Survivor 51. And then, the unthinkable happened.

Thanks to former Toka ally Maggie Nestor showing up and handing an extra vote over to both Lewis Kelly and Danny Kilby, the duo suddenly was able to force a surprise Tribal Council tie, with four votes each on Lewis and Linnea Capobianco. That put Linnea’s allies Eric Macksoud, Sharonda Cox, Cristian Chavez on their heels, and after Kilby stood firm on his plan to go to rocks — with one of the four rock-pullers going home instead — Eric, Sharonda, and Cristian capitulated and agreed to send their ally Linnea packing rather than risk their own spot in the game.

In the latest edition of his weekly Field Notes social media post, host and showrunner Jeff Probst called the move “historic.”

“This is a great example of what playing to win looks like,” Probst writes in the Instagram post. “Kilby and Lewis made a big move that certainly could have backfired... but if you play to not lose, you’re doomed. You must play to win. Sometimes that means a risky, go-for-broke, big move. That’s what tonight was.”

Of course, Kilby had already committed to going to rocks when he decided back at camp, which gave him and Lewis the element of surprise over their opposition. They also had nothing to lose, already being in the minority against the rock-solid (slight pun intended) Savu foursome.

“Anytime you are truly willing to go to rocks, you have a massive advantage,” Probst notes. “Kilby’s willingness to draw rocks put all the burden on Eric, Sharonda, and Cristian. Would they really risk the thought of one of them drawing the wrong rock to save Linnea?”

No. No, they would not. But as I noted extensively in my recap, while that was definitely a bad look for the trio, it was not necessarily a bad move.

That’s because not only would the Savu side remain in the majority no matter what happened with the rock draw, but had they gone to rocks, there still would have been a 75 percent chance one of the Savus went home anyway, because they were picking three out of the four rocks. So why risk immediate elimination on a non-game-changing vote with 75 percent odds you lose an alliance partner anyway when you can guarantee your own safety and still go back to camp in the majority? Anyway, just a thought.

Still, a massive bummer for Linnea, who watched her alliance partners fold right in front of her face.

“Given the shock of what went down, I thought Linnea handled it really well,” Probst writes. “Being voted out is always very difficult to accept, but if you’re able to find some kind of silver lining, in this case, being a part of history, it certainly cushions the blow... a bit.”

Danny Kilby, Eric Macksoud, Lewis Kelly, Linnea Capobianco, Sharonda Cox, Cristian Chavez on ‘Survivor 51’Credit: Robert Voets/CBS

Of course, Linnea’s ouster means the tally of women voted out to start the season now has reached six, with the only man to exit, Rob Antonson, quitting the game.

‘Six straight women voted out,” Probst writes. “Still no man voted out this season. I am noting this only to remind that there are so many factors that go into a tribe dynamic and any vote at Tribal that sometimes things that seem shocking from the outside — how could they vote out another woman? — are not at all reflective of what is really happening in the game.”

A game that Linnea is unfortunately no longer in.

Survivor 51 busted out a double elimination this week featuring two Tribal Councils and a lot of drama.

A tiebreaker rock draw was narrowly avoided after one side backed down, and we have a lot of thoughts about it.

When is a Blood Ring just a regular ring?

I’m going to show a modicum of restraint here. A smidgeon of nuance. A morsel of grace. I even took a deep breath to calm myself before typing, like I was going all Zen and channeling my inner Coach on the Tocantins plains of Exile (non-) Island.

You Survivor recap historians (Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?) are well aware of my stance when it comes to going to rocks to settle a Tribal Council tie. If it is a vote that will set the course of the game, then you need to accept the risk and do it, because not going to rocks is not a winning move and playing scared will only get you sixth place. I still yell at John Cochran from time to time about this. (No wonder he canceled our last dinner date in L.A.)

I am very adamant that there are certain times where going to rocks is a vital game of chicken, and whomever blinks first may last another few days in the game, but is ultimately doomed due to their cowardice.

As much as it pains me to say it, what we just witnessed does not qualify as one of those times.

The Dina tribe on ‘Survivor 51’Credit: CBS

Let’s set the scene so we’re all on the same page here. Linnea, Eric, Cristian, and Sharonda had 4-2 numbers over Kilby and Lewis on the new Dina tribe, but Maggie from the Toka tribe arrived (OPEN ERA! PERMANENT UNCERTAINTY!) and handed both Lewis and Kilby an extra vote each so they could force a tie and go to rocks. They used their votes,  and the tie was forced with four votes each on Lewis and Linnea. Everyone voted again. Another tie. So now the four players who received no votes had to agree unanimously on Lewis or Linnea, or everybody else would have to pick a rock, with one of them going home.

Phew. Okay, painful expository dialogue now over. Sorry about that. So let’s now get into the math of it. No way Kilby was going to flip his vote because he just made his stand, and no matter how much everyone was promising him they would work with him moving forward, that felt about as real as Elizabeth Holmes telling Nathan Fielder she had never told a white lie in her entire life. If Kilby flipped, he’d be the next to go after Lewis.

But Eric, Sharonda, and Cristian were in no such danger. Because even if they capitulated — and make no mistake, they would capitulate in one of the most embarrassing displays ever — they would still go back to camp in a 3-2 majority. Is that worth risking your game over? From a strictly strategic risk vs. reward perspective… mayyyyyyyybe? But probably not.

If the former Savu-strong folks go to rocks, guess what? There is still a 75 percent chance one of them goes home anyway, because they are picking three out of the four rocks. So why risk immediate elimination on a non-game-changing vote with 75 percent odds you lose an alliance-partner anyway when you can guarantee your own safety and still go back to camp in the majority?

So I am not going to sit here and say that it was a bad move for Eric, Sharonda, and Cristian to refuse to go to rocks. It was not a bad move. But it was a bad look.

See, this is reason number 5,748 why I would never, ever go on reality television. I mean, we’ll see how it all plays out down the line, but without being too results-oriented, I do honestly think in the moment what Eric, Sharonda, and Cristian did in leaving their rock-solid ally (slight pun intended) Linnea out to dry because they were too chicken to go to rocks is the right strategic call. But you have to come off looking like a complete coward in doing it.

Eric Macksoud, Sharonda Cox, and Cristian Chavez on ‘Survivor 51’Credit: CBS(3)

REALITY TV IS SO MEAN! The move makes the Savu three look so gutless and spineless for folding faster than my beloved Washington Commanders before an overtime field goal attempt. They showed no grit. No moxie. No pluck. No anything from any words that have not been used in popular parlance since the 1940s. But again… I think they made the right call! And this is coming from the ultimate go-to-rocks guy.

The most brutal part about it is that players are very aware out there of how their game will perceived by viewers. Kilby’s no dummy. He is a super fan of the show and he definitely knows in the moment how heroic and badass this will make him appear on TV, which pushes him to stand firm. Conversely, Eric, Sharonda, and Cristian were absolutely aware of how bad Kilby’s resolve and their capitulation would make them look. Not only did they allow their wills to get bulldozed by a single player, but they also completely left their ally Linnea out to dry — not even bothering to risk a rock draw to save her.

The price for them to all make the right strategic decision in that moment was to have to look timid and terrible doing it, and they paid that price indeed. Super fascinating. Okay, let’s see what else went down on episode 5 of Survivor 51.

Jeff Probst on “Survivor 51’Credit: Robert Voets/CBSBasket case

Man, water challenges are just the best. I was beyond jealous getting to watch the players climb up that ladder and then plunge into in the crystal clear water below. We’ve seen variations of this contest before and I’ve been fortune enough to run/swim a few of them, but there was another nifty wrinkle here. Instead of contestants going solo over a balance beam between platforms, three players had to work together to get a ball balanced on a disc over the beam. And because there were an odd number of players, that meant it would be one player on one side and two on the other. Off balance on the balance beam! Like I said… nifty.

Also, did you all catch that drone shot? If not, go back and watch it again. The camera swoops over the course while Brady is at the top of his ladder and then circles its lens back after passing. I don’t know… I’m not describing it well at all. But it was super badass and just another reminder how Survivor is consistently the best looking show on television.

While I’m just throwing out props left and right, allow me to also direct some to “bottom feeder” Mike. His decision was a mini-version of the Dina Tribal Council situation. He could try to look cool by going Jalen Brunson basketball style in shooting the balls into the baskets and miss, or go grandma underhand style and actually win the damn thing for Toka. He wisely chose the latter. I’ve said it a million times over a million years at this point — always shoot underhand in these circumstances.  Anyway, fun challenge. Too bad it was a blowout (YOUR FAULT, MIKE!)

The cast of ‘Survivor 51’Credit: Robert Voets/CBSJelly’s big decision

Even with Rob Antonson suffering the worst injury in the history of Survivor and having to be immediately helicoptered to a hospital for emergency life-saving surgery, there are still too many damn players in this game, so the Hostmaster General informed the teams that both tribes that lost the challenge would be voting someone out. That meant both Dina and Savu were heading to Tribal Council.

The pivotal vote on Savu seemed to belong to Jelly. There were some strategic concerns articulated as Alexis attempted to convince Jelly that “you’re crazy for continuing with him,” and Jelly noting that Devin was not connected to anyone she needed to move forward with in the game. But, in the end, it appears Jelly was deciding which was worse for her conscience: voting out a Black player or voting out another woman.

I’m sure a lot of people will scream and find fault with that and turn it into some sort of culture war question. I just found it super interesting watching this woman have to choose between whichever she saw as the lesser of two evils. Jelly mentioned how the Helicopter alliance was formed to make sure Black people did well in the game. She also told us, “I cannot be part of another woman going out of this game.” Yet those were her only two options. And hearing Devin talk about his brothers dying, and Alexis discussing how she overcame her addiction and criminal past only made the decision harder.

Look, you can rant and rave about race and gender questions being Jelly’s main concerns if you want. Or you can find it fascinating to see someone struggling between a moral rock and a hard place. I choose the latter.

In the end, Jelly cut Alexis loose, making her the fifth of six straight women to be voted out to start the game. And, like Jenna before her, Alexis was absolutely stunned. Here’s what she verbalized to the tribe after the vote went down: “Wow, wow. Wow. I’m shocked. Wow. Wow. Wow. You got me, Ori. Wow. Wow. Wow.”

And the surprises were only getting started.

Devin Way, Jelly Loblack, Ori Jean-Charles, and Alexis Levine on ‘Survivor 51’Credit: Robert Voets/CBSBlood and Blood Rings are spilled

I hadn’t been able to get a great read on Maggie in the game. I thought it was hilarious the way she just kinda moped her way into Brady giving her his extra vote, and I knew she valued challenge performance based on the way she turned on Aaliyah, but was she a driver or a passenger?

We got our answer this week. After being one of three Toka people to volunteer to take a mysterious boat ride and winning the draw, Maggie found out she could visit one of the tribes and give one of the players an extra vote. But with a note so nice, Maggie decided to do it twice! That’s because she also had her mopey extra vote to give away. Hell, she was ready to give everything away. Jenna’s shoe! Patt’s pants! A piece of Brady’s thumb! EVERYTHING MUST GO!

While she could go to either camp, we knew she was going to Dina because we had not seen them since the challenge and they contained her two alliance partners from the last vote in Lewis and Kilby. Indeed, that’s where she went and she told her two Toka bros that she was gifting them a vote each. The only question was whether Kilby — who had already been throwing Lewis under the bus to align with the former Savus — would stay with his new pals or flip back now that he had some numbers.

The fact that we saw him tell the Savus about Maggie giving him a vote but not telling them about her also giving one to Lewis gave us our answer on that count. (So did the fact that they aired the Savu Tribal Council first because they would not have ended the episode on the downer of Kilby staying put.)

But before Maggie showed up, Lewis had thrown another Hail Mary in the form of a completely phony baloney advantage he claimed to have received on Exile Island. I loooooooooooove it when players make up advantages and special powers out of midair. In fact, just yesterday I wrote an entire article about how Rick Devens planned to do it on Big Brother before producers shut it down.

Lewis Kelly on ‘Survivor 51’

Anyhoodle, Lewis tried to convince Sharonda that he had been given a disadvantage for failing the task at Exile Island called… wait for it… the Blood Ring! Yooooooo, Blood Ring! That sounds like some total medieval Sauron s--- right there! According to the Irishman, by giving the ring to Sharonda, it now meant their lives were linked for two Tribal Councils — meaning if he was voted out, she would be as well — and then at the third Tribal Council, it became an immunity idol for her. Okay, nice try, Lewis.

Make no mistake, I love how convoluted Lewis made these Blood Ring rules, but why push it and say their fates were linked for two Tribal Councils? That was problem number one. Problem number two is that producers are very careful about when and how they schedule double eliminations. Yes, a person quitting due to a paper cut on their foot may occasionally disrupt those plans, but I see no universe where they just leave it open to a possible double elimination that could or could not happen at any time.

Problem number three is that Lewis had no parchment to back up his story, immediately making it seem super sus. And then there was the biggest problem of all — Lewis had already described to the group (and a very attentively listening Cristian) the exact ring he just gave to Sharonda as his own Irish wedding ring with the raw emerald in the middle. WHOOPS!

Anyway, we finally ended up at Tribal Council, where the expected tie vote materialized. I want to pause for the cause here to give some serious props to Lewis for not only using his two votes to write down Linnea’s name with two different spellings (Lenaya, Leneigha) and getting them both wrong, but also writing one in print and the other in script.

I don’t know if he was unnecessarily trying to throw people off that both votes were coming from him (even though there would be absolutely no reason to do so) or if he was just having fun with it. I also don’t know why Kilby went up to the voting both Weapons style. I do know that out of eight votes total cast by Lewis and Kilby on Linnea, not one of them spelled her name correctly… which is an unintentional extra kick to the groin in this whole experience for the Jersey girl who does not pump her own gas.

Eric Macksoud, Linnea Capobianco, and Sharonda Cox on ‘Survivor 51’Credit: CBS

The whole scene that unfolded after the revote was hilarious, as the former Savus all tried to convince Kilby to change his vote, while Lewis peer-pressured him to be “fearless” by calling out empty slogans like “This is 51!”

I always find it hilarious when players do this and pat themselves on the back for being the most badass cast on the most badass season in the history of Survivor just because it is the most reason season of Survivor. I also love the way a bunch of people were standing for no reason during this “live Tribal” since they were not even whispering and everyone was pretty much talking openly.

The Savus eventually caved in embarrassing (but strategically correct!) fashion, tossing Linnea away like Patt tossed her pants into the South Pacific ocean. So much for Savu strong! The woman was so distraught and befuddled she even forgot to bring her torch to Jeff. “I am completely flabbergasted,” she said in her final words. “I am devastated to be going home.”

It’s a bummer to lose her, as Linnea proved herself to be an active game player. But her pain is our gain, as her unlikely ouster made for some pretty sweet TV. By my count, that makes for four out of five very strong episodes so far. As Lewis would say, THIS IS 51... I guess.

Of course, there’s plenty more to go this season and plenty more to go this week. We’ll check in to see what the Hostmaster General has to say about this week’s episode and will have exit interviews with both Alexis and Linnea, so you Brodies should make sure to check those out. In the meantime, I’ll go get working on next week’s scoop of the crispy!

Sahara Ray’s mom reveals she’s been “wearing Sahara’s clothes and sobbing” after model’s death at 34.

Gretchen Gia Bach posted a series of Instagram Stories remembering her eldest daughter and her legacy.

Ray died on Oct. 18, less than a year after giving birth to her own daughter, Snow, in January.

Sahara Ray’s mother is finding solace in the memories of her daughter as she grieves her unexpected loss.

Gretchen Gia Bach posted a series of Instagram Stories remembering the 34-year-old model who died on Oct. 18 “surrounded by family at the hospital.” In one photo, showing Bach dressed in baggy jeans and lying on a bed, she wrote that it was 1 a.m. and she was “wearing Sahara’s clothes and sobbing” as she read “the love letters and tributes to my first born daughter.”

Bach, who also has two younger daughters, shared several posts from photographer Molly Lou reflecting on her time working with the Australian model and swimwear designer.

Lou recalled how she helped her friend launch Sahara Ray Swim and managed the shipping, customer service, and social media marketing.

In addition to all the celebrities “wanting to wear her suits,” Lou said she was most impressed by the response from fans — “Girls who just loved Sahara and we’re so excited to support her.”

The designer’s DMs were “flooded” with messages from young women also inspired to be creative, even if that was “to put glitter on their faces and feel allowed to be sexy and cool like Sahara,” added Lou.

Bach also reshared a post asking friends to send “photos, stories, and letters” about Sahara that the family can share with her 9-month-old daughter Snow “so she can get to know her mom one day.”

The heartbroken mother revealed some of her own fond memories of “a girl who absolutely blew me away,” she wrote beside a photo of Sahara swimming. “Her positivity, energy, passion, spunk, and lust for life was magnetic... She will be sorely missed. Until we meet again, Sahara, I know you’re somewhere.”

An hour later, Bach returned to Instagram to share a snapshot of her daughter with a cat. “I still can’t quite believe you’re gone,” she wrote over the photo. “There really was no one quite like you, Sahara.

Ruby Ray also paid tribute to “my beautiful big sister” on social media. She remembered Sahara as “the most vivacious, intelligent, hilarious, kind, empathetic and breathtakingly beautiful soul. A force of nature. A light so bright that this world feels impossibly dimmer without her in it.”

“From the moment I entered this world, I looked up to her,” continued Ruby, also the daughter of surfing legend Tony Ray. “In my eyes, she was everything extraordinary about being human. She was magic, she was warmth, she was laughter, she was love. She was, to me, the most incredible person to ever walk this earth.”

A cause of death has not yet been determined.

In 2024, Sahara opened up about her battle with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that left her partially paralyzed and unable to walk following a serious car accident with an alleged drunk driver.

Carrot Top Faces Sexual Assault Allegations

Carrot Top has been accused of sexual assault on three separate occasions.MEGA

DeFazio claimed that he met Thompson on the dating app Grindr when he was 19.

Thompson and DeFazio allegedly met up for drinks on March 21, 2021, before the comedian invited Thompson back to his home.

"I was distracted by his fame and by who I knew he was, rather than asking myself why a 56-year-old man was there and leaving, which is what I would have done," DeFazio said in the filing.

DeFazio claimed Thompson invited him into his "s-- room" and described being groped and kissed.

Kyle Kennedy, the granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy, died September 21 at her home in Westwood, Massachusetts. She was 42.

The educator and disability advocate had spent her final years living with long-term paralysis after suffering a severe spinal cord injury in 2020.

Kennedy's obituary said she died peacefully, while her cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.

Her death certificate lists the cause as pending, with the manner of death under investigation. Her funeral services were held privately.

After her injury, Kennedy turned her experience into advocacy, speaking out about health care discrimination affecting people with disabilities while continuing to raise her two sons, Conor and Declan.

From Teaching to Education Reform

Born July 6, 1984, in Washington, D.C., Kennedy was the daughter of Michael Kennedy and Victoria Denise Gifford. Her father, one of Robert and Ethel Kennedy's children, died in a skiing accident in 1997 when Kyle was 13.

Kennedy attended Milton Academy before studying history at Georgetown University.

She later earned a master's degree in early education from Pace University and a Master of Education in education policy and management from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education.

After college, she joined Teach For America and taught for two years in New York City's public schools. Her career later expanded into education reform, including work involving curriculum development, charter schooling, and coaching educators who worked with young children.

Kennedy's professional focus remained centered on improving educational opportunities for children who were underserved. Her obituary described her as a passionate advocate for more equitable elementary education and charter schooling.

That commitment eventually intersected with her own experience with disability. In 2020, Kennedy suffered a severe spinal cord injury that resulted in long-term paralysis, disability, and other medical challenges. Public accounts have not disclosed how the injury occurred.

Before the injury, Kennedy was an avid runner. She completed the 2019 Boston Marathon in a driving rainstorm, finishing 20 minutes faster than her father's time, according to her obituary.

The years following the injury brought significant challenges, but Kennedy continued advocating for others living with disabilities. She testified at the Massachusetts State House during a hearing concerning discrimination in health care for people with disabilities.

Her advocacy became another part of a career built around equity. She continued raising her sons while navigating the long-term effects of her injury, with her obituary remembering her determination and dry wit during difficult years.

Kennedy married Liam Kerr in 2012, and the couple had three children.

Their twins, Conor and Josephine, were born first, but Josephine, known as Josie, died days after birth. They later welcomed their son Declan. Kerr was identified as Kennedy's former husband in her obituary.

Kennedy is survived by Conor, 12, and Declan, 10, as well as her mother, Victoria, siblings Michael and Rory, and their families. She was also predeceased by her father and infant daughter.

Her obituary also remembered Kennedy's two Wheaten terriers as her “beloved, ill-behaved” companions. Funeral services were private.

Christina Applegate says she was misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021.

The actress has long spoken about her treatment and life with the condition, though she revealed that doctors recently told her she doesn’t have MS.

Applegate cried on her MeSsy podcast with Jamie-Lynn Sigler over the news.

Christina Applegate got emotional over the latest update in her ongoing health journey.

Though the Dead to Me star was initially diagnosed in 2021 with the immune disorder that causes a breakdown of the body’s nerve sheaths, the 54-year-old revealed on the latest episode of her MeSsy podcast (with actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who has MS) that doctors initially misdiagnosed her five years ago.

Applegate broke down in tears as she discussed a recent medical appointment where she was evaluated with “new technology that had come out” — the results of which led her down a disappointing path.

“This may come as great news, but, to me, it comes as I’m back at square one,” the star explained, adding that her doctor “came into my room and she said, ‘Congratulations! You don’t have MS.’”

Applegate said she was “not happy at all” over the news, but that those around here were thrilled by the development.

“You don’t get misdiagnosed, and then all of a sudden I’m better. I haven’t gotten better,” she said. “I’ve gotten worse, in some ways. I’m back at square one. I don’t know what’s going on with me. That’s going to be an online investigation my doctors are going to get into to find out what’s been happening since 2021. Why did this happen? I have every symptom of someone with MS. Every single one. We both know that there are many things that mirror MS. Many different things.”

Sigler, who starred on The Sopranos series and was diagnosed with MS in 2001, remarked that “the labeling of things and how attached we become to them for so many reasons” can impact recovery “because it feels like there’s a roadmap, at least, that you have for this.”

Applegate then said she’s found out that “there’s a pretty damn high number of misdiagnoses with MS,” and that she feels “something else is going on, from the totally benign to something else that’s kind of intense that you need to get treated for.”

The Emmy winner, who released her memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, in March, added that she feels like she “let everybody down” by becoming a vocal public advocate for MS treatment and visibility, though Sigler reassured her that everything the actress did to help people wasn’t in vain.

“Everything that I was doing, it’s like I had a reason. I had a f---ing reason as to why my day sucked every day, and now I don’t have a reason and it’s very unnerving and it’s really confusing for me,” Applegate continued. “I’m just in a state of shock right now. I’m still in shock, and I’m sitting here having slept all day yesterday feeling like absolute crap because of the heat, my legs aren’t working, all the same stuff is happening to me, yet I have this thing: Well, you don’t have that.”

Later in the episode, a doctor who specializes in neurology joined the actresses to discuss the medical industry’s frequent misdiagnosing of MS.

Dr. Marwa Kaisey of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s neurology department said that misdiagnosing is “fairly common,” informing the stars that there’s not “one single test for MS” that can definitively prove the disease.

“It’s not like we have something like a pregnancy test that says, ‘Yes. You have it.’ ‘No. You don’t.’ It’s a list of criteria,” Dr. Kaisey said.

Applegate again lamented the misdiagnosis, telling Sigler that she’s “gone through a great depression because of it” and that she “lost everything,” including her acting career.

“I’m sorry. What do you say to someone who’s been living with this for six years?” Applegate asked. “It stopped my life. I still have to use wheelchairs when I go to the doctor’s office. I can’t walk from the car to the room. I’m still in this. Nothing magical happened when she said, ‘You don’t have MS.’ Nothing magical happened.”

Listen to Applegate discuss her ongoing health struggle in the podcast episode above.
