Three wins, two clean sheets. The past week or so has been faultless results-wise for Derek McInnes.

However, the most intriguing aspect was how he wants this Rangers team to play. It is all about being compact and using the three behind the striker to hurt teams in transition.

We do not have the profile of midfielder to dominate the ball, but we have the wide players and attackers to hurt teams.

It's a shame for Lawrence Shankland to facing a spell out injured after beginning to find form with three goals in two games.

However, the additions of Badredine Bouanani and Kevin Kelsy on deadline day will help with our attacking options.

The transfer window overall was okay, but we can't be making bold statements on the back of three wins against teams Rangers should be beating. Having said that, it feels like a small step in the right direction.

Two home games this week provides the chance to keep momentum growing. Will midweek visitors St Mirren continue to play the way they did the last time they were at Ibrox? I hope so because it will make for a good game.

And Sunday's Old Firm derby takes on extra significance because it's the first of a double-header. Last season in this scenario we lost both. I think the goodwill McInnes is building will go south if he doesn't achieve two wins this week.

Green Shop on Whitmore Street in Whittlesey has been shut by Cambridgeshire Police

A shop has been subject to a three-month closure order following concerns over drug dealing at the premises.

Green Shop on Whitmore Street, Whittlesey, near Peterborough, was shut on 7 August by Cambridgeshire Police's March Neighbourhood Policing Team and the extended order was granted at Cambridgeshire Magistrates' Court on Friday.

In August, vapes and illicit cigarettes were seized and a 22-year-old man was handed a community resolution by the force for being in possession of cannabis.

The order stated the premises was closed to everyone except for the landlord and their authorised contractors, or members of the emergency services.

PC Callum McGarvie, from Cambridgeshire Police, said: "In addition to the warrant, we knew further action had to be taken in response to community reports of anti-social behaviour originating from the shop.

"We are listening to those affected by these issues, and I encourage them to report any potential breaches to us."

Breach of the order could result in imprisonment of up to three months, a fine or both, the force added.

Russia and North Korea opened the first road bridge across their shared border Monday, a development that both countries hailed as boosting their deepening ties.

The bridge over the Tumen River is 1 kilometer (0.6 mile) long and has two lanes and will allow up to 300 vehicles a day to pass through a newly built border crossing point, the Russian government said in a statement.

The bridge links North Korea's Rason and Russia's Khasan, border cities of the two countries. The bridge's inauguration ceremony took place simultaneously in the two cities, with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and North Korean Premier Pak Thae Song attending via video link.

“I am convinced that the expansion of transport infrastructure near the border will give a powerful boost to the further development of trade, economic, technological, scientific and cultural cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea,” Mishustin said.

Pak said the bridge's completion is “a significant event adding a new dynamic movement to the overall bilateral cooperation,” according to North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency.

Relations and exchange programs between Russia and North Korea have been flourishing, with North Korea supplying ammunition and troops to support Russia’s war against Ukraine in return for economic and military assistance.

North Korea has been receiving Russian tourists since February 2024 amid slowly easing pandemic curbs. KCNA said the bridge's opening would promote tourism, human exchange and commodity circulation between the two countries.

North Korea and Russia, which are already served by a railway bridge and air service, agreed in 2024 to construct a bridge for automobiles over the Tumen River, which runs along North Korea’s borders with Russia and China. Construction began last year.

The Senate is now a “pure toss-up” with less than 60 days to go before the crucial midterm elections, according to Decision Desk HQ.

The pollster declared Monday night the fight for control of the chamber has become a virtual dead heat for the first time since early June.

“The DDHQ Forecast now has the U.S. Senate as a pure toss-up for the first time since early June,” the group posted on X. “The average seat outcome across 1 million simulations remains a 50-50 tie, which would be a narrow win for Republicans thanks to Vice President JD Vance’s tie-breaking vote.”

“But the modal outcomes for the Senate are now about equivalently 50-50 tie and 51-49 Dem,” the group added in a follow up post.

Decision Desk HQ gives the Democrats a 67% chance of taking back control of the House of Representatives, but the Senate has been consistently seen as safely in Republican hands until the latest projection.

Some Republicans have already been sounding the alarm.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) admitted last week he feared Dems would take the Senate.

The conservative named nine states he believes the Dems can take — and take control of the Senate — during a podcast appearance with with ex-Trump press secretary Sean Spicer.

“[With] the Senate, I’m really worried,” Cruz said. “North Carolina, the numbers are rough, Georgia the numbers are rough, but we have very competitive races in Maine, Iowa, Ohio, Alaska, Nebraska, Kansas, Texas. I mean, all of those races are within a couple of points of each other. So it — I hope it’s not — but it could be a really rough election.”

Republicans have been fuming that President Donald Trump — who has repeatedly railed against Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) for failing to pass the controversial SAVE Act — has been tight-fisted with the $400 million in cash amassed by his super PAC, MAGA Inc.

While MAGA Inc. shelled out $10 million over the weekend in Texas, according to FEC filings, one GOP strategist ripped the president on CNN, telling Kaitlan Collins he “wants to spend money on himself,” not fellow Republicans.

“He doesn’t want to give things away. He wants Republicans to earn it, so we still have The Apprentice playing out here, to some extent,”  Doug Heye said.

“The other issue is then what Donald Trump talks about, whether he’s off topic or not, or when he’s on topic, he tells voters, ‘We’ve never been hotter or richer,’ and voters don’t feel hot or rich right now,” he added.

The Balinese Australian model—who appeared on Ex on the Beach Couples: Now or Never in 2023—shared that her and Christopher Hunter's baby boy died just hours after she gave birth.

Their son Harmony Hunter was born on Aug. 28—20 days after his due date—at 4:27 a.m. "in the most powerful birth of our lives," but sadly died "peacefully in our arms" at 8 p.m. that night, Negara wrote on Instagram Sept. 7.

"Creating life with the love of my life has been the most profound healing journey I could have never imagined being written into our journey," she said. "Growing life for nearly ten months, growing our family, falling so deeply in love in a union that was always destined to be, falling in love with the life we have created for our family, birthing life, and then birthing death has been incomprehensible."

The MTV star continued, "My body feels broken and aches for our baby, the life we grew together. I don’t think we will ever know how to move through this heartbreak."

A team of doctors even flew in to help and "continued to spend hours trying to save our little boy," she said.

They did not share their son's cause of death.

As they've mourned their baby, Negara thanked their loved ones who have shown immense support, saying, "Our hearts sit in deep gratitude to our friends who have loved and cared for us this past week."

In the coming days, Negara and Hunter plan to hold a memorial service for their infant on the land of the Bundjalung Nation Aboriginal people.

"We will soon lay our angel to rest on Bundjalung Country where he was born, the land that has held my family and continues to hold our family," she wrote. "We know you will return to us again old soul, we can feel you surrounding us, our Angel."

Hunter—a salon owner—added a touching tribute on his Instagram Story, which read, "The most perfect son a dad could ever ask for. I know you will return to us."

Serena Williams left Venus Williams behind after their doubles comeback ended in defeat at the US Open.

The US Open dream is over for the Williams sisters following their collapse in the women’s doubles. On Friday night, the legendary duo faced Hao-Ching Chan and Maya Joint and came from a set down to tie the match and force a deciding set.

The third set went to a tiebreak, but the Williams sisters failed to capitalize on a 5-1 lead and were eliminated from the competition, losing 6-3, 6-7 (6), 7-6 (7). As the sisters were disappointed to exit the US Open, they declined to speak with the media, leaving members of the tennis press frustrated.

Serena had been retired until this year, but she reunited with her sister at the US Open for the first time since 2022 after they were granted wildcards for the tournament. But despite the possibility that it could be their last time competing in New York, Serena and Venus - who have won 30 Grand Slam singles titles between them - skipped their media availability.

Following the loss, Venus reportedly expected to speak with the media. She went to the locker room to begin her process before going to the conference room.

However, Serena “fled the scene as fast as she could,” according to Bounces.

Serena left the stadium in a private car directly from the court after losing on her return. While it is technically possible for just one member of a doubles pair to speak to media, Venus opted against doing press without her sister

After the match ended, the USTA informed credentialed media who had requested the Williams sisters that they would “not be available for press tonight.” Per the US Open guidelines, athletes who do not fulfill their media obligations may be fined - but the American duo escaped discipline, too.

Ahead of her first doubles match with Venus since 2022, Serena took part in the mixed-doubles tournament ahead of the US Open. She was paired with Carlos Alcaraz, and the duo defeated Lloyd Glasspool and Erin Routliffe before being knocked out in the quarterfinals by Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli.

Speaking then, Serena told reporters: “I never expected to be back on this court.”

The 23-time Grand Slam champion added: “It’s just a really cool moment. I never thought this would happen.”

While the Williams sisters refused to speak, Joint and Chan did discuss their victory on court after the match. “It was an amazing match,” Joint said. “They played really well, and I think just the atmosphere on the court ... I don’t think either of us has experienced quite like that before. And playing two legends of the game is just a super special moment that we might not get again.”

It was the second time that Joint has eliminated Serena this year, after ending her dream Wimbledon return.

It remains to be seen whether Serena or Venus will return in 2027. While Venus has been the more active player, Serena has refused to confirm her retirement and never made an official announcement when stepping away in 2022.

- Rosanne Cash has postponed shows on her current tour.

- The artist’s management announced the action on her Instagram page.

- The shows will be rescheduled, according to the statement.

Rosanne Cash, the eldest daughter of late country music legend Johnny Cash, has postponed three dates on her current tour for health reasons.

“Rosanne Cash must postpone her performances due to an unexpected medical emergency,” her management posted on the artist’s Instagram page. “She is recovering under her doctors’ supervision, who have recommended a temporary restriction on travel and performing. This restriction is impacting her upcoming Wyoming and Montana shows. Rosanne deeply regrets the cancellation and looks forward to rescheduling appearances.”

In the second image of the post, a list of tour dates shows the postponed appearances were originally scheduled Sept. 8 in Sheridan, Wyo.; Sept. 9 in Billings, Mont.; and Sept. 10 in Bozeman, Mont.

Cash, 71, is scheduled to perform in Jonesboro, Ark., on Sept. 19, before making a string of European appearances in late October and Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on Nov. 9. Her schedule has her visiting several cities in Southern California in January.

The four-time Grammy winner has released more than a dozen studio albums since her 1978 debut. Her music spans genres, including country, pop, and Americana.

The singer and songwriter behind hits such as “I Don’t Know Why You Don’t Want Me” and “Seven Year Ache” was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2015.

EW has reached out to Cash’s management for comment.

Cash explained to Terry Gross on a 2009 episode of *Fresh Air* that her father very much influenced her love for music of many genres.

“When I was 18 years old, I went on the road with my dad after I graduated from high school. And we were riding on the tour bus one day, kind of rolling through the South, and he mentioned a song,” she said. “We started talking about songs, and he mentioned one. And I said, I don’t know that one. And he mentioned another. I said, I don’t know that one either, Dad. And he became very alarmed that I didn’t know what he considered my own musical genealogy. And I was very steeped in pop and rock music, and I grew up in Southern California. So he spent the rest of the afternoon making a list for me.”

***Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our ******EW Dispatch newsletter******.***

She noted that the list was supposedly country music songs, but they were really just a diverse collection of American songs, which she recorded for her 2009 album *The List*.

“He covered every critical point in Southern and American music — early folk songs, protest songs, Delta blues, Southern gospel, early country music, Appalachian,” Cash said. “Everything that fed into modern country music was on that list. So his overview was really of a musicologist but formed by his instincts, you know, and just the rhythm in his own blood. So I realized when he gave me the list at the age of 18 that this was an important document, and I set about learning these songs. But it took me, I think, until now to realize that he was really giving me himself, a part of his heart and soul.”

Johnny Cash died in Nashville on Sept. 12, 2003, at the age of 71.
