Ten years after his death, Alan Rickman's widow Rima Horton is honoring her late husband by raising money for cancer research.

During an appearance on *BBC Breakfast *on Tuesday, Horton took the time to promote a charity seeking to raise funds for the organization Pancreatic Cancer UK, while also sharing a sweet tribute to the late *Harry Potter* star, who died from the disease in 2016 at age 69.

"He had so much more to give. There were so many more things he could have done," she shared on the show, per *The Independent*.

Horton also revealed that Rickman lived for six months after his diagnosis, with chemotherapy extending his life, though it "didn't cure" the disease.**

"The biggest problem is that by the time that people find out they've got it, it's too late," Horton said of pancreatic cancer. "The symptoms are so difficult to work out. What we're trying to do is raise money for a breathalyzer test which could provide an early diagnosis."

The post continues, "This extraordinary prize draw is inspired by the legacy of Alan Rickman, whose legendary portrayal of the iconic Professor Snape captivated audiences worldwide. Ten years on since he died from pancreatic cancer, we're raising vital funds in his memory to change the future for everyone affected by this devastating disease."

Per the organization, fellow stars including Rupert Grint, Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Emma Thompson, Matthew Lewis, and more signed the books.

"Working with him at such a formative age was incredibly important and I will carry the lessons he taught me for the rest of my life and career," Radcliffe wrote. "Film sets and theatre stages are all far poorer for the loss of this great actor and man."

Rickman's *Harry Potter *and *Love Actually* costar Emma Thompson also called him the "ultimate ally" and said that she would "remember most in this moment of painful leave-taking is his humour, intelligence, wisdom and kindness."
