“DON’T OVERTHINK IT.” That’s the mantra we hold listening to from many Democrats in D.C. WAPO: “Giuliani, who confirmed to The Washington Submit on Friday morning that he would attend the occasion, reversed himself that evening after The Submit reported on his participation in the meeting, which Russian President Vladimir Putin and other prime Russian officers are anticipated to attend. The two-day conference is sponsored by Russia and the Moscow-based Eurasian Economic Union, a commerce alliance launched by Putin in 2014 as a counterweight to the European Union.” The Post story, by Tom Hamburger, Josh Dawsey, Amie Ferris-Rotman and Ros HeldermanNYT’s Maggie Haberman scooped that Giuliani wasn’t going

-- CNN: “White Home efforts to restrict entry to President Donald Trump's conversations with overseas leaders prolonged to telephone calls with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, based on individuals familiar with the matter.

“Those calls -- both with leaders who keep controversial relationships with Trump -- have been among the presidential conversations that aides took exceptional steps to keep from turning into public.” Story by Pamela Brown, Jim Sciutto and Kevin Liptak
