US rock band Queens Of The Stone Age have unveiled an unusual initiative: a complaint hotline designed to allow fans to air their grievances directly, with the promise that all feedback will be "reviewed personally."

The bizarre service, which was launched on Thursday, even offers callers the chance to be connected live to a band member.

Operating 24/7, the hotline directs individuals to an answering machine. Callers are given the option to either lodge a complaint or proceed without one. Those opting to voice their concerns are encouraged to leave a message, while those who choose not to are simply told they are "having a good day" before the line disconnects.

The platform is for "fans, friends and foes" to share their thoughts, with "a chance that some callers may even find a live ear at the end of the line."

A poster shared on the band's Instagram page urged: "Call the Queens Of The Stone Age complaint hotline and get heard! You know better, now’s your chance! No bitching too big, no whiny too tiny. All complaints are reviewed personally: +1 (760) 437-1966."

Fans are also encouraged to monitor their social media channels for updates on complaint statuses.

Formed in 1996 in Seattle by vocalist and guitarist Josh Homme, Queens Of The Stone Age are known for hits including 'No One Knows', 'Go With The Flow', and 'Little Sister'.

The current line-up, led by Homme and featuring Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita, and Jon Theodore, has earned eight Grammy nominations and a UK number one album.

The band is presently on tour across North America alongside Foo Fighters, with upcoming performances scheduled in Japan, Singapore, Australia, and a significant return to Iceland – their first gig in the country in two decades.

Last year, the US rockers headlined the three-day Victorious Festival down on Southsea Common in Portsmouth, Hampshire.

Half-way through the set, frontman Homme stopped to take a song request from the audience before launching into Little Sister.

Kings of Leon, Kaiser Chiefs and Vampire Weekend also performed across the weekend at the festival that started back in 2012.

Minnie Driver just revealed she was in a “really bad” car accident in a new video while wearing a neck brace.

On Thursday, August 6, the Good Will Hunting actress, 56, took to Instagram with a message for fans after the scary crash.

“Hi, guys. Paris update is that I’m actually back in London,” Driver began the clip, while lying on her side on a bed with a neck brace and cuddling her dog. “I got into a really bad car accident a few days ago with my friend, Ben. And we somehow walked out of it. Well, we didn’t walk out of it; we crawled out of it. But we did get out of it alive.”

She continued, “To be very clear, it was not our fault. We were driving on a country road in the middle of France, and a car didn’t stop at an intersection and was going at speed. And we just T-boned it.”

Of her injuries, Driver said she has a sprained neck and is “sort of in shock and crying all the time.” She added, “But I’m going to heal. And the reason I’m not dead, honestly, is the car that we were driving.”

Driver said they were traveling in a Kia EV2. Although she said she had never been in a crash before, she pointed out, “The 360 airbags are what saved our lives.”The actress noted that her video was “categorically not a car ad,” she laughed and mused, “Can you imagine if that was what I was doing?”

“I need to celebrate the car that saved us. Because we’ve got families and people who love us. And I am so grateful to be alive. So, Kia. You are a baller car company. You’re amazing. Thanks very much from me and my mate, Ben, and my family and the people who love me.”

In the caption, Driver wrote, “Shout out to the van driver who stopped and helped us before the ambulances arrived. Special mention to the car who slowed down took in the scene and drove off without stopping. I guess this is the Dao of the world, the light and the dark.”

She added, “My brain keeps replaying the crash, which is very hard but seems to be a necessary part of processing. Weeping too, feels good and helpful. Thank you to my friends, my family, all the people at work and especially my friend Ben and his family. I love you.”

In the comments, Driver’s follower showered her with prayers and well-wishes, with one Instagram user writing, “Rest, heal and know you will heal physically and emotionally. Shock, sadness, anxiety are normal to feel. Please don’t be afraid to get help with this process. Grateful you and Ben survived.”

Another shared, “I’m so sorry to see this. You don’t know me, but I will be praying for you for your and Ben’s speedy recovery. All the best.”

Someone else commented, “Oh my gosh, I am so sorry this happened. BUT thank God you are ok. Sending lots of prayers and hugs from Texas!”

A different follower wrote, “Oh no! That is terrifying. Wishing you a gentle recovery, both physically & emotionally.”

Meanwhile, yet another Instagram user echoed, “So glad that you are ok. Prayers for a fast recovery.”

Hilary Duff might be performing sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden, but there’s one job that still comes first.

The 38-year-old mother of four addressed the crowd on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at her first of two New York City shows, sharing that her day started off pretty stressful.

“My kids are here tonight,” Duff said, grinning. “I can’t believe I get to show them this. We were in the ER this morning getting some stitches for my 5-year-old.”

Duff is mom to 14-year-old son Luca, whom she shares with her ex-husband Mike Comrie, and daughters Banks, 7, Mae, 5, and Townes, 1, with husband Matthew Koma.

The “Growing Up” singer assured the crowd that Mae is “fine” after her hospital visit.

“It’s all good,” she insisted. “But it’s very ‘our family-coded’ that I would be playing my first show at MSG and also be in the emergency room getting my kid stitched up.”

She then shared a sweet message for her little girl, saying, “Mae Mae, you’re very brave.”

The Disney Channel alum has been touring the country on her Lucky Me tour — marking her first time on the road with her music in 18 years. Back in April before the start of the tour, Duff opened up to PEOPLE about fitting her kids into her travels.

“I spent hours with my assistant [looking at] the tour schedule, being like, ‘Okay, I want them here for this stretch. They can go home these days,’ “ she said at the time. “It’s been a lot of logistics that can seriously bend a brain, but it’s going to be an adventure.”

She added that getting to show her kids the country was important to her.

“All of these cities have so much to offer, and I feel like there would be no other time when my kids would see the U.S. like this, so we’re just thinking of it as a big, long road trip,” she said, adding with a laugh, “And hopefully, they don’t get bored with seeing my show every night.”

Duff has one more night at MSG on Aug. 6 before moving on to Massachusetts. The U.S. leg of the tour ends later this month in Michigan before moving abroad, including stops in the U.K., Australia, Canada, Mexico and more. She wraps things up in Guadalajara, Mexico, in February 2027.

Britney Spears took the empowering lyrics of “Overprotected” literally when she received heartbreaking news on the set of the 2002 music video.

After 20 hours of filming, the crew was ready to film the final sequence, but the pop star was holed up in her trailer. Unbeknownst to everyone, her boyfriend of more than two years, Justin Timberlake, had just broken up with Spears in a text message.

Chris Applebaum, who directed the visual for the Darkchild remix of “Overprotected,” decided to check in on his leading lady when he was stopped in his tracks by Spears’ choreographer Brian Friedman.

“He was like, ‘No, no, get away… It’s a bad situation,’” Applebaum recalled on the podcast, Hyperfixated with Joseph Shepherd. “Let me talk to her,” he insisted, but Friedman didn’t think it was “a good idea.”

As the two were going back and forth on how to approach the delicate situation, Spears’ personal assistant overheard and opened the trailer door. “Brit says you can come in,” she told Applebaum.

Once inside the trailer, he asked if everything was okay “and nobody said anything,” recalled the director. “And Britney’s like, ‘Um, well, something happened’... and she shows me her flip phone screen… and I saw that her boyfriend had written to her to end the relationship.”

Applebaum sympathized with the 21-year-old, telling her he “totally understood” if she wanted to end the shoot early.

As he turned to leave, he noticed Spears’ heartbreak snack of choice: animal crackers.

“I don’t know why that inspired me, but I was like, ‘You know, the other thing you could do, you could get back out there and do a performance that’s so hot that you show him he just messed up the best thing that he’s ever had,” Applebaum recounted. “And she just like light bulb and was like, ‘that’s it you’re right let’s do that.’”

“And she came out and that’s why that performance was so cool,” Applebaum said of the scene during the bridge of “Overprotected.”

When he showed Friedman the final product, “he just started crying,” recalled the director. “He’s like, ‘This does my dance routine justice in a way I’ve never seen before.’”

Friedman went on to earn a Best Choreography nomination at the MTV Video Music Awards, “which made me so happy,” Applebaum said.

Somewhere in this strange mix, the platform has earned a reputation as something of a cringefest, and it’s not hard to see why. Scroll for a minute and you’ll inevitably come across the humblebrags, the mundane epiphanies repackaged as “leadership lessons,” and “Let’s connect!” sign-offs on posts that read like they were written by people who’ve never heard of work-life balance.

It’s all part of the “grindset” that groups like LinkedIn Memes For Go Getter Teens take to task, showing just how unhinged it’s all become. Check out a few of their funniest posts, no connection request required.

You might be surprised to learn that LinkedIn is older than Facebook (and even MySpace). It launched in 2003, and back then, the platform was pretty straightforward. Designed specifically for professional networking, it was a place where people could look for jobs, showcase their résumés, and connect with potential employers.

Now, for some people, even this early version of the site would’ve been enough to make them cringe. I’m talking about the type who dread even the thought of drafting a cover letter or letter of motivation. The self-promotion of it all is simply too much for them to bear.

But if these folks thought that version of LinkedIn was uncomfortable, today’s platform—where, according to Nuala Walsh, author of Tune In: How to make smarter decisions in a noisy world, “showing off to fit in can feel compulsory”—would probably send them running.

That’s because over the years, LinkedIn gradually evolved beyond its original purpose. And like its more “social” media counterparts, it became a place to share updates, build a following, and cultivate a personal brand. The difference with LinkedIn, however, is that unlike on Instagram or TikTok, every story, opinion, or milestone is being shared with colleagues, recruiters, managers, clients, and potential employers in mind.

And so it follows that the version of yourself you’re presenting isn’t your everyday self—it’s your professional self. As Sadhbh O'Sullivan explains, “LinkedIn You is the work version of yourself: polite, organized, a clear communicator, only makes jokes when appropriate, and can stare confidently down the barrel of a camera in a formal headshot. Instagram You, to a certain extent, can be hungover. BeReal You absolutely can. LinkedIn You most definitely cannot.”

And although it’s hardly a new concept that one should conduct oneself differently in professional and personal spaces, “This in itself,” O'Sullivan explains, “can make LinkedIn feel uncomfortable.”

One way that discomfort turns to cringe, however, is when the balance between authentic professionalism and personal branding starts to tip too far in one direction. You know the posts: the grocery run that becomes a leadership lesson, the minor Slack exchange that becomes a career-defining epiphany, the promotion rebranded as a story about resilience. And perhaps most infamously, the layoff post that somehow becomes all about the person who authorized the laying off.

Before long, it’s not just professionalism that’s being performed—it’s productivity itself. Long hours become badges of honor, burnout is reframed as dedication, and constant self-improvement is treated as the hallmark of success. Because once visibility and engagement become currency, simply doing your actual job isn’t enough. You also have to show others how ambitious, resilient, and endlessly productive you are.
