Melania Trump's documentary has been pulled from all theaters in South Africa just days before its scheduled release. **

The film's local distributor, Filmfinity, announced on Wednesday that it would no longer release *Melania* on Friday due to "recent developments," *The New York Times* reports. **

"Based on recent developments, we've taken the decision to not go ahead with a theatrical release in territory," Thobashan Govindarajulu, Filmfinity's Head of Sales and Marketing, said.

While Govindarajulu declined to share what specific recent developments led to the film getting pulled, he noted that Filmfinity wasn't pressured or asked to cancel its theatrical run. "That was our decision," he added. **

The move comes amid ongoing tension between South Africa and Donald Trump, propelled by rising tariffs and the president's widely debunked claims that a white genocide is being committed in South Africa.

Representatives for Filmfinity and Amazon MGM Studios did not immediately respond to **'s request for comment.

Mark Sardi, the chief executive officer of South Africa movie chain Ster-Kinekor, told *The New York Times* that he didn't know why Filmfinity had pulled *Melania*, given that it had complied with all local regulations. **

"Our basic position would be we're not in the business of censorship," he told the outlet. "I expect the decision would have been a commercial one balanced with a whole lot of current issues."

*Melania* gives an inside look at the first lady's life in the 20 days leading up to her husband 2024 re-election. The film was directed by Brett Ratner, marking his first film since being accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women in 2017. He has denied the accusations. **

This is the latest setback for the documentary, which is projected to earn somewhere between $2 and $5 million dollars in its opening weekend. That number, however, pales in comparison to the roughly $75 million that billionaire Jeff Bezos' Amazon MGM Studios spent acquiring the doc and on its subsequent marketing and promotions.**

Speaking with EW, Daniel Loria, senior vice president and editorial director at BoxOfficePro, explained that he believes it's a "reach" that *Melania* will achieve a $5 million debut, noting that "these sort of public-figure documentaries usually get bought and produced for streaming." He added, "That's the real value for these things."**

Still, the president has shown his support for his wife's film, calling it a "MUST WATCH" and claiming that tickets are "selling out, FAST!" **

However, *The Late Show *host Stephen Colbert appeared to debunk the president's claims in his opening monologue on Tuesday, revealing that "zero tickets" had been sold for two Saturday evening screenings of the film in Times Square. "Now, usually, to see Trump bomb this hard, you'd have to be on a Venezuelan fishing boat," Colbert quipped.*****Melania* opens Friday.**

Diamonds are forever — and so are some epic love stories.

At the world premiere of Margot Robbie's buzzy new adaptation of *Wuthering Heights*, the Australian actress paid tribute to Elizabeth Taylor's legendary Hollywood romance with Richard Burton by donning Taylor's iconic Cartier Taj Mahal necklace on the red carpet. Burton, Taylor's husband at the time, famously gave the star the diamond necklace for her 40th birthday in 1972, during a getaway in Budapest.

"There's something kind of Cathy and Heathcliff about Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor in my mind, so it felt appropriate," Robbie told *Access Hollywood* at the premiere Wednesday, likening Burton and Taylor's tumultuous relationship to that of her and Jacob Elordi's characters in the film.

"It's crazy," she said of being able to wear the necklace. "I remember when I talked with Andrew, my stylist, about what I was going to wear tonight, he was like, 'I feel like you need to be wearing the equivalent of the [*Titanic* necklace] Heart of the Ocean, so anyways, I feel like this is the real-life equivalent of the Heart of the Ocean. And the history of the necklace is amazing."

Indeed, according to a press release from Taylor's estate, "The pendant's surface bears an inscription in Parsee that reads, 'Love is Everlasting,' along with the name of Nur Jahan, the first woman to receive the jewel as a gift from her husband, Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahangir. The diamond was then passed down to their son, Shah Jahan, who gifted it to his most adored wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Four years later, when she died, the emperor commissioned the iconic Taj Mahal mausoleum as a tribute to her. The monument inspired the naming of the diamond, which found its way to Elizabeth and Richard."

The release further notes that the jewelry "stands as one of the most historically significant pieces in Elizabeth Taylor's legendary collection" and is "steeped in centuries-old symbolism."**

Robbie completed her red carpet look with custom 38-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings made of vintage old-cut stones set in blackened bronze and gold; a Fred Leighton ring; and a dramatic, form-fitting Schiaparelli gown.

An adaptation of Emily Brontë's influential Gothic novel of the same name, *Wuthering Heights* depicts Catherine and Heathcliff's doomed romance, from their early days spent playing in the wily, windy moors of West Yorkshire to Heathcliff's dramatic departure from the estate and beyond.

However, director Emerald Fennell has cautioned that fans shouldn't expect a faithful adaptation per se — it's more her own reimagining of the classic tale. "The thing is that it's my favorite book in the world," the filmmaker told *The Hollywood Reporter* on the red carpet. "Like many people who love this book, I'm kind of fanatical about it, so I knew right from the get-go I couldn't ever hope to make anything that could even encompass the greatness of this book. All I could do was make a movie that made me feel the way the book made me feel, and therefore it just felt right to say it's *Wuthering* *Heights*, and it isn't."

Julia Roberts shared a rare PDA-filled pic with her husband, Danny Moder, in honor of his 57th birthday.

"🔥🎉🥰🎂🔥 My fav[e] day. My fav[e] man. #131 #WLF," Roberts, 58, captioned a photo of her hugging the cinematographer on Saturday, January 31.

A few of the couple's famous friends sent along their own birthday wishes for Moder, including Rita Wilson who wrote in the comments section, "Happy Birthday!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️love to all Moders!!!!"

It's Complicated actress Alexandra Wentworth added, "Happy Birthday to the great Danny Moder!"

Roberts and Moder will celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary in July. The couple met on the set of Roberts' 2001 crime comedy The Mexican, where Moder was working as a cameraman. Roberts and Moder were both in other relationships at the time but later reconnected once they were single.

Roberts and Moder started stepping out together in 2001 and eventually tied the knot at her ranch in Taos, New Mexico, on July 4, 2002. They share three children: twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 21, and Henry, 18. (Roberts was previously married to country singer Lyle Lovett for two years, and had high-profile relationships with Kiefer Sutherland and Matthew Perry.)

Last September, Roberts paid sweet tribute to her enduring marriage during an interview with Entertainment Tonight alongside her After the Hunt costars Andrew Garfield and Ayo Edebiri. Roberts didn't hesitate when asked to name an "element that brings you joy" in life.

"Danny Moder," she replied. "Never changes. Never changes. Sometimes more. Sometimes medium."

The Oscar winner has spoken often in the past about how she considered raising a family to be her greatest accomplishment in life. Chatting to CBS News in 2022, Roberts mentioned that she considered being a wife and mom her "full-time job."

"It isn't rainbows and kittens every day, but it does bring me a lot of joy," she admitted.

Roberts went on, "It's just never consumed me, being an actor. It is my dream come true, but it is not my only dream come true. The life that I have built with my husband [and] the life that we've built with our children, that's the best stuff. To come home at the end of the day, triumphantly, to them."

The America's Sweethearts star also shared one way that she and Moder have kept passion alive in their marriage has been to write each other handwritten love notes.

"[Writing handwritten notes is] something Danny and I have always done," she told CBS host Jane Pauley in 2022. "The first letter he ever wrote me, which was seven pages long, I still have it tucked away. One day I'll show it to [my daughter] Hazel and say, 'That's what you're looking for.'"

A year later, Us Weekly exclusively reported that Roberts and Moder were working through the "hard time" that came with their eldest children leaving the nest. (Their twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus, enrolled in college in September 2013 while Henry was finishing high school.)

"Julia's in one of the most bittersweet times in her life right now," a source told Us, before revealing that she was enjoying refocusing on her career.

Julia Roberts Says Husband Danny Moder Is the Key to Their Family's Happiness: 'The Captain of Our Ship'

"Julia has long had the option to pick whatever role she wants and work with whomever she wants, so she's been having fun with that," the insider hinted. "She was turning down films so that she wasn't away from her family for huge periods of time."

On the horizon for Roberts is a leading role in 2027's Panic Carefully opposite Elizabeth Olsen and Eddie Redmayne. Not much is known about the thriller yet, other than that it comes from writer-director Sam Esmail. (Roberts previously starred in Esmail's Prime Video political thriller series Homecoming and the 2024 apocalyptic drama Leave the World Behind.)

Alfalfa is all grown up, and he's now a self-declared "radical Catholic extremist."

Bug Hall, who famously played the character in 1994's *The Little Rascals*, opened up about his decision to take "a vow of poverty" and live off the grid with his wife and five kids in a conversation with *The Daily Mail* (per PEOPLE). Hall, who was born Brandon Barnett, told the outlet he plans to utilize a hydro-electrical dam, and special plumbing and electrical systems in order to unplug in rural Arkansas.

The former actor, who also described himself as a "medieval moralist," said that he left Hollywood following his arrest in Texas in June 2020 for allegedly inhaling air duster.

** confirmed at the time that an EMS call came into the Weatherford Police Department around 8:20 p.m. on the evening of Saturday, June 20, 2020 regarding "someone near the dumpster huffing" on the Fort Worth Highway, and an officer was dispatched.

The actor was taken to Parker County Jail on charges of possession for use to inhale/ingest a volatile chemical, where he was booked on a $1,500 bond, which he posted by the following day. A rep for Hall at the time told EW the charges against the actor were being dropped. He did not have a formal statement at the time.**

The former child star told *The Daily Mail* that his arrest came after 15 years of sobriety, though he admitted to several relapses that were "brushed to the side" in the "high energy" environment of Hollywood. The arrest was a lightbulb moment for him, and he realized he didn't want to live a life of "manipulation, of other people, in how I speak to them, in the stuff that I make or produce… including myself, as an addict."**

Hall continued, "I didn't want to go work some job that was basically meaningless, making widgets to entertain people or distract people."

Previously, the *Stupids* star explained the unconventional move in a YouTube video in April 2025, in which he also revealed that he had donated all of his savings and most of his material possessions.

"It was a hard realization, but it was something that I was pretty firm on, and I still am," he said of leaving Hollywood. "The irony was that I loved the work. I wasn't sort of disillusioned in terms of my love of work. I really, really loved it. I loved film and TV and the process of storytelling, more than any of you."

Kristen Stewart might be ready to flee the country.

When asked if she sees herself working in the U.S. long-term by the U.K.'s *The Times*, Stewart, 35, replied, "Probably not.

"I can't work freely there," added the actress, who currently splits her time between Los Angeles and New York. "But I don't want to give up completely. I'd like to make movies in Europe and then shove them down the throat of the American people."

Stewart, who recently made her feature directorial debut with *The Chronology of Water*, said she shot the film in Latvia because "it would have been impossible to do in the States."

The comments came about as the *Spencer* actress was discussing the tariffs President Donald Trump has said he plans to impose on the film industry, and how "terrifying" they are.

Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak interviewed Saturday for the Las Vegas Raiders' head coaching job and was also scheduled, according to multiple reports, to meet with Arizona Cardinals officials about their vacancy.

This was the second round of interviews with Kubiak for both teams — the last two NFL clubs still searching for head coaches.

If Kubiak reaches an agreement with either team, no announcement can be made until after the Super Bowl on Feb. 8 between the Seahawks and New England Patriots in Santa Clara, California.

Kubiak also could decide to stay in Seattle and wait another year rather than take on a challenge of turning around a franchise — either one — that since 2022 represent two of the three worst in terms of losses.

The Raiders haven't won a playoff game since their last Super Bowl appearance in the 2002 season. They have made the postseason just twice since, most recently in the 2021 season. The Raiders went 3-14 this season, resulting in the firing of Pete Carroll.

Las Vegas has been a revolving door of coaches, and the Raiders will begin next season with a different person in charge for the third year in a row.

But the Raiders also have the top pick in this year's NFL draft and are expected to take quarterback Fernando Mendoza. The Heisman Trophy winner led Indiana to the national championship and could be the franchise QB the organization has long sought.

Management will have nearly $90 million in salary cap space to surround Mendoza with potential talent, the second-highest amount in the league, according to overthecap.com.

Both teams have taken their time to fill this position, though the Raiders seemed to have focused recently on Kubiak. That became even more clear this week when Denver quarterbacks coach Davis Webb reportedly pulled his name from consideration.

Team minority owner Tom Brady was notably complimentary of the 38-year-old Kubiak while serving as the Fox Sports analyst during the NFC championship on Sunday between the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams NFC championship. Sam Darnold completed 25 of 36 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns in the 31-27 victory.

Arizona's stealthy, meandering search is nearing four weeks. Jonathan Gannon was fired on Jan. 5 after a 15-36 record over three years, including a 3-14 mark this season.

The Cardinals haven't officially announced any interviews, but have been linked to discussions with several candidates, including Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur, former Falcons head coach Raheem Morris, Jaguars defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile, Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and former Panthers and Commanders coach Ron Rivera.

Campanile appears to be out of the running after signing a new deal with the Jaguars. Joseph was the Cardinals' defensive coordinator from 2019 to 2022.

Arizona hasn't made the playoffs since 2021 and has the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming draft. The Cardinals' roster could be in a state of flux — particularly at quarterback. Kyler Murray is in the middle of a $230.5 million deal that could keep him in the desert through 2028, but the 28-year-old missed most of last season with a foot injury and it's unclear whether the franchise wants to stick with him after seven seasons.

It was Kubiak's work with Darnold that got the attention of both Southwest-based teams. Darnold, taken third overall by the New York Jets in the 2018 NFL draft, had been considered a bust until leading Minnesota to a 14-win season in 2024. But the Vikings moved on from Darnold, and he proved that season was no fluke by winning 14 games in Seattle en route to leading the Seahawks to the Super Bowl against New England.

England's Justin Rose might be too far ahead for the rest of the golfers in the Farmers Insurance Open to catch up.

Rose shot a 4-under-par 68 on Saturday in the third round to carry a six-stroke lead into the final round in San Diego.

Despite three bogeys on the Torrey Pines South Course's back nine, Rose enters Sunday's play at 21-under 195 for the tournament.

Joel Dahmen also posted a 68, putting him in second place. Japan's Ryo Hisatsune (68) and South Korea's Si Woo Kim (69) share third place at 13 under. Max McGreevy (71) is next at 12 under.

"If Justin makes his tee time and continues to play this way, he's going to win the golf tournament," Dahmen said. "He's just playing too well."

Rose is looking for his second title at Torrey Pines, where he won in 2019 with a 21-under score.

On Saturday, Rose was 4 under through seven holes and added a birdie on No. 10 before a pair of bogeys. His birdie on the 13th hole got him back on track, while he finished the round with a birdie putt from about 3 1/2 feet on the par-5 18th.

Maverick McNealy (70), Germany's Stephan Jaeger (65) and Ireland's Seamus Power (74) are at 11 under.

Jaeger had the best round of the day with all pars and birdies. Defending champion Harris English recorded a 67 and sits tied for 20th at 8 under through three rounds.

"Happy to turn around and have a really nice round," Jaeger said.

Jaeger had only one birdie Friday. He said he adjusted his putting grip and that paid off.

"I think I'm going to try them again (Sunday)," he said. "I putted really nicely today so it's going to stay for a while."

The next-best rounds of 4 under were turned in by Adam Schenk and Keith Mitchell -- both at 9 under -- along with Australia's Jason Day, Rose, Hisatsune and Dahmen.

Brooks Koepka, in his first tournament since defecting from the LIV Golf, won't factor in the final round after posting his second 73 of the tournament during an erratic round. He's at 2 under and tied for 61st.

Koepka said he was nervous upon making his return. Now playing on the weekend, he's relieved regarding the reception he has received.

"It has been phenomenal," Koepka said. "It has been overwhelming. It has been very cool. I don't know what I expected, but this is beyond what I could have dreamed of."

Chris Gotterup, who won the season-opening Sony Open a couple of weekends ago, said golfers are anxious to find positives early in the schedule.

"All of us want to get off to good starts (to the season)," he said.

Gotterup shot 70 for the second straight day and is tied for 20th at 8 under, but he said the course is offering a fair yet challenging test.

"You have to be in the fairway, you have to be in the right spots on the greens," Gotterup said. "Whoever wins this week is going to earn it."
