Taylor Sheridan began his quest towards television dominance with *Yellowstone*, a sweeping saga about Montana's Dutton dynasty. As the writer, director, and producer built upon his crown jewel with *Yellowstone* prequels like *1883* and *1923*, he experimented with dramas that took him to Detroit (*Mayor of Kingstown*), Tulsa (*Tulsa King*), and Texas (*Landman*).
In March, Sheridan will debut two new shows on Paramount+ that take him back to Big Sky Country. One is *Y: Marshals*, a *Yellowstone* spinoff about Luke Grimes' Kayce Dutton. The other is *The Madison*, an original series set in the Madison River valley of central Montana. Christina Alexandra Voros, a *Yellowstone* vet who earned an Emmy nomination for her work on *1883*, will serve as its director.
*The Madison* was first announced in 2024 with a starry cast including Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, and Matthew Fox. It took a while, but now we finally know more about the drama, including its release date.

Described as Sheridan's "most intimate work to date," *The Madison *encompasses "two distinct worlds — the beautiful landscape of Montana and the vibrant energy of Manhattan — as it examines the ties that bind families together."
As its title implies, the series unfolds on the banks of the Madison River, a tributary of the Missouri River rich in trout, minnows, and catfish.**
Pfeiffer leads the cast as Stacy Clyburn, the matriarch of a family that moves from New York City to Montana following a tragedy. Loss will be a key theme of *The Madison*, which is said to be a "heartfelt study of grief and human connection."**
Is there a trailer for The Madison?
There's no proper trailer as of this writing, but Paramount+ announced the series' debut with a brief teaser highlighting its characters and setting.
The teaser flits between shots of Manhattan high-rises and the sun-kissed plains of central Montana. At the center of it all is Pfeiffer's Stacy, reeling from a tremendous loss.
"My center, my soul, is gone," she says. Later in the clip, she asserts a desire to "feed" her heart and, pointing to her head, "never factor this into the equation."
Kurt Russell's Preston Clyburn is also highlighted, fishing in the show's namesake river and musing on his golden years. "What do I have?" he asks. "Before I'm too old to do anything more than just remember."**
The clip also sees the city slickers marveling at a Native American on horseback, a sight they likely never saw on the East Coast.**

*The Madison*'s all-star cast includes Pfeiffer, Russell, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Beau Garrett, and Amiah Miller, among others.
Adams, best known for playing legal eagle Mike Ross on *Suits* (2011–2019), stars as Russell McIntosh, an investment banker who's "followed the life path set before him from the start."
Chapman, a relative newcomer who appeared in 2022's *A Man Called Otto*, plays his wife, Paige McIntosh. Paige is described as a "somewhat self-centered woman who indulges in a luxurious New York lifestyle provided by her parents and husband."

Actress and model Beau Garrett, a veteran of *The Good Doctor* (2017–2018, 2020) and *Firefly Lane* (2021–2023), will also play a key role as Abigail Reese, a "resilient and sardonic New Yorker" and mother of two who recently got divorced. Miller, who starred in Amazon Prime's *My Best Friend's Exorcism* (2022), will play Bridgett, her oldest daughter.
Matthew Fox, the Golden Globe-winning star of *Lost* (2004–2010), will play Paul, who's characterized as an outdoorsman and self-reliant bachelor.
Rounding out the cast is Will Arnett as Phil Yorn, a therapist in New York City who you can spot in the teaser. Arnett, who broke through on *Arrested Development* (2003–2019), can currently be seen in Bradley Cooper's *Is This Thing On?* (2025).**

While a sophomore season hasn't been officially announced as of this writing, executive producer David C. Glasser told the *Fort Worth Star-Telegram* in August 2025 that a second season was set to begin filming in September.
