The author has continued showcasing her talents on two additional reality series

Nearly two decades after The Millionaire Matchmaker premiered, matchmaker Patti Stanger has continued setting up couples and handing out relationship advice.

Stanger rose to fame when she starred on the hit Bravo show — which began airing on Jan. 22, 2008 — until its end in 2015. During her time on the series, Stanger worked with wealthy clients struggling to find love and set them up with people she believed would be a good match.

Even after the series came to an end, Stanger continued in the matchmaking and television business by starring in the similar WeTV show, Million Dollar Matchmaker, from 2016 to 2017. Most recently, she graced screens once again on the CW series Patti Stanger: The Matchmaker, which premiered in April 2024.

Beyond TV, Stanger has published several books, acted in TV shows, written advice columns and hosted a podcast.

From her days on The Millionaire Matchmaker to her return to television, here's everything Patti Stanger has been up to in recent years.

Stanger grew up in a Jewish family in New Jersey before becoming a famous matchmaker. She is the third generation in her family to work in the matchmaking industry. She served as the director of marketing for Great Expectations — known as the largest dating service in the country — before founding her famous Millionaire's Club in 2000.

According to its website, the Millionaire's Club is "a private, exclusive club where successful people could come to find their beautiful and intelligent mates." The already-popular social club and matchmaking service only gained more notoriety when it became the focus of a Bravo show in January 2008.

Stanger's TV show The Millionaire Matchmaker premiered on Jan. 22, 2008, featuring her quirky assistants and a rotating cast of unique millionaires and interesting people vying for their hearts. Many episodes featured Stanger giving tough love to unkempt potential matches and the picky millionaires.

Following the show's success, Stanger wrote several successful books, including Become Your Own Matchmaker, Find Your Match and Seal the Deal and tried her hand at acting on shows like Drop Dead Diva and Days of Our Lives.

The Millionaire Matchmaker aired on Bravo for eight seasons from 2008 until 2015. Stanger served as both the lead and executive producer. She announced the end of the series on X on July 10, 2015, writing, "After 8 seasons I've decided to leave @Bravotv. Thank u 4 the great ride. Stay tuned for exciting news as I move to a wonderful new network!"

Though it was unclear why Stanger chose to leave the network she started with, Bravo only had well wishes for the star. "We loved watching Patti Stanger find love for so many people over the last 8 seasons on Bravo," a network spokesperson said in a statement at the time. "We wish her the best with her new endeavors."

Just one year later, Stanger's new show Million Dollar Matchmaker premiered on WeTV. The new show was similar to her Bravo series and ran for two seasons, airing 20 episodes before coming to an end.

Despite no longer having a show, Stanger never completely left the limelight. She continued writing books, hosting a podcast called The Millionaire Matchmaker Love Report, sharing dating advice on her Patti Knows website and teaching webinars and master classes to help people find love.

In the early seasons of The Millionaire Matchmaker, Stanger was in a relationship with longtime real estate executive Andy Friedman, whom she began dating in 2003. The couple got engaged in 2009, but in August 2010 Stanger announced their breakup on X, citing his disinterest in having children as the reason.

"I just ended my relationship with Andy," she wrote, according to Bravo TV. "It hit me really hard that I want kids in my life. You have to agree on the non-negotiables."

Stanger went on to start dating David Krause in 2012. The following year, she shared that he'd gotten her a promise ring. "A promise ring to me means a commitment," she told PEOPLE in a statement from her rep. "However, at the same time I have the freedom to take my time to consider marriage."

The pair split in June 2015, with Stanger announcing the news herself on her website. "It's unfortunate for a million and one reasons and obviously hard and sad for both of us," she wrote. "Parts of me wish neither of us had to go through this. At the same time, I realize that this relationship and break up had to happen because I needed to learn a lot of lessons I never would have been able to learn without dating David."

Though she's seemingly single these days, Stanger doesn't believe her lack of a relationship affects her work as a matchmaker. "You don't say to Belichick, 'Hey, you never played in the Super Bowl, but you won rings for your team and your teammates,' " she told ET in April 2024.

On Valentine's Day in 2024, Stanger announced her return to TV in CW's Patti Stanger: The Matchmaker. "This show is going to heal all those horrible single wounds that you can't figure out why they won't go away," she wrote on Instagram alongside the announcement. She also announced Bachelor alum Nick Viall as her cohost.

"Yes, there will be some Bachelor alums joining us this season as well as some of my favorite Bravoalities!" she added.

Unlike her previous shows, Stanger opened up her services to "any single looking for love," instead of just the ultrawealthy. Some of her clients included former Bachelorette contestant Justin Glaze and Golnesa Gharachedaghi from Shahs of Sunset.

The first season premiered on April 11, 2024, and concluded on June 13, 2024. CW has not announced plans for a second season.
