Influencer Paul Kim shared a health update for his 5-year-old son Micah
The Catholic content creator first revealed on Dec. 21 that Micah had been rushed to the hospital after a "medical emergency"

Influencer Paul Kim is sharing a health update on his son.
Over the last week, the Catholic content creator — who is known by over 300,000 followers on Instagram for posts about his religion — revealed that his 5-year-old son Micah has been receiving emergency medical care.
On Dec. 21, Kim first shared on Instagram that Micah had been rushed to the hospital in an ambulance after a "medical emergency" — asking his followers to "pray for his healing." He added in a follow-up post later that day that his son was in the emergency room and was "not doing well."
The following day, Kim shared that Micah had been placed on life support and that scans had revealed that brain activity was "not present."
"My five-year-old son, Micah, needs a miracle in order to survive," Kim wrote on Instagram on Dec. 22.
The next day, Kim shared the "first good news" that he had received since his son's hospitalization — that Micah's surgeons, who had operated on his chest to respond to bleeding, had managed to stop the bleeding and found that his heart looked "much better than before."
On Christmas Eve, Kim posted that his family was celebrating Mass for his son inside his hospital room.
"This has undeniably been the heaviest cross my wife and I have carried in our entire lives. I have never felt so crushed and helpless in my life," wrote Kim in an emotional post on Christmas Day. "But I have simultaneously never felt so strong and upheld by God's grace in my life. To those I know and strangers I've never met, thank you for your prayers, generosity, and concern."

After the holiday, Kim returned to Instagram with another update: that his son's heart "continued to show improvement" and that doctors would be removing Micah's life support device because of the positive news.
In his most recent update, uploaded on Dec. 29, Kim revealed that despite his son's improvement, "his kidney is struggling really hard."

"He needs your prayers," Kim said. "We're ultimately leaving all of this in God's hands."
Micah's health journey has captured the hearts and minds of many on Instagram, including singer-songwriter Gwen Stefani, who commented on one of Kim's updates, "🙏 praying for u."
