The mother of a Texas college student is desperately searching for answers after her daughter was found dead near campus after attending a tailgate, according to reports and authorities.

Brianna Aguilera, a 19-year-old student at Texas A&M University, was discovered dead outside an apartment complex around 1 a.m. Saturday, just hours after she attended a tailgate for Texas A&M's football game against the University of Texas, KSAT reported.

Aguilera's mother, Stephanie Rodriguez, told the outlet that she has received inconsistent answers from the Austin Police Department after investigators said Aguilera likely died by suicide.

Detectives told her she had fallen from 17 floors, the mother recalled.

"There are a lot of inconsistencies with the story," Rodriguez said. "He told me they said she jumped, and then he told me that the friends said they didn't know her whereabouts."

The heartbroken mother said her daughter, a sophomore at the university, was not suicidal and was looking forward to her future as a lawyer.

Rodriguez called police after her daughter did not answer her phone after Friday's game, noting she saw Aguilera's phone pinging in Austin.

Cops then instructed her to wait 24 hours before filing a missing persons report, the outlet reported.

Officers later found Aguilera's cellphone on Saturday. However, Rodriguez was not told until 4 p.m. that day that her daughter was in the morgue, the mother recalled.

Rodriguez believes something more sinister could have been at play leading up to the fatal fall.

She maintained that one of the 15 people inside the apartment must know something about her daughter's death.

"There was a fight that happened between my daughter and another girl, and they were all staying in the same apartment that I have actual text messages of, and the detective just disregarded them," Rodriguez said.

Austin police said Aguilera's death is not being investigated as a homicide, as the investigation has not revealed any suspicious details, the outlet reported.

The Travis County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the aspiring lawyer's cause of death.

Aguilera hailed from Laredo, where she attended United High School. She was a "seasoned cheerleader" and received magna cum laude honors before graduating high school, according to a GoFundMe organized for her loved ones.

"She was pursuing her dream of becoming a lawyer and was attending The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M," the statement continued.

"The details surrounding what happened next remain unclear, and her mother is still awaiting answers," the fundraiser continued.

The GoFundMe has since raised over $28,000, more than double its $12,000 goal.

"Im so grateful for your love and support at this moment. The unexpected loss of my brie brie has been a tremendous challenge, but I find strength in the outpouring of kindness," Rodriguez said in a Monday message to the hordes of supporters.

"I've experienced every parent's worst fear, but I'm comforted by the knowledge that my brie brie touched so many hearts."

Texas A&M University did not immediately respond to The Post's request for comment.

As much of the northern tier of the nation recovers from a series of recent winter storms, a potent system has begun blanketing the Northeast in heavy snow.

Since the start of the weekend, parts of the upper Plains and Great Lakes region saw over a foot of snowfall, including parts of Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin, leading to road closures and hundreds of flight delays and cancellations.

Some cities, such as Chicago and Kansas City, experienced record-breaking snowfall totals.

Now the Northeast is experiencing its first major snow storm of the winter season. Forecasters project 8 to 12 inches of snow to pile up across Upstate New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Maine through the midweek.

Tens of millions were under winter weather advisories on Dec. 2, from South Carolina and Indiana to New Hampshire and Maine, according to the National Weather Service.

The low-pressure system tracking off the Mid-Atlantic coast prompted dozens of local weather advisories and warnings as it began unloading snow across the Northeast.

Forecasters said snowfall rates of over an inch per hour were likely, threatening low visibility for commuters and airport delays.

"Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult to impossible," warned the National Weather Service office in Albany, New York.

Similar warnings have been issued throughout the Mid-Atlantic and New England.

VILNIUS, Lithuania (AP) — Tensions between Lithuania and Belarus have escalated after meteorological balloons from Belarus forced Lithuania to repeatedly shut down its main airport in the past weeks, leaving thousands of people stranded.

While the balloons are used to smuggle cigarettes into Lithuania, officials in Vilnius see their numbers and trajectories as deliberate acts of disruption orchestrated by Belarus, a close Russian ally, as Europe remains on high alert after drone intrusions into NATO's airspace reached an unprecedented scale in September and the Russian invasion of Ukraine nears its fourth year.

'A cynical hybrid attack'

In the most recent incident, operations at Vilnius airport were suspended for 11 hours on Saturday night. Lithuanian authorities said at least 60 balloons were flown from the woods in Belarus, 40 of them reaching areas critical for aviation safety and making it one of the most serious incidents to date. Lithuanian aviation authorities said the balloons appeared to be sent at regular time intervals and directed at the runways.

"This is a cynical hybrid attack against our economy, aviation security, and the entire nation," Taurimas Valys, Lithuania's deputy minister of foreign affairs, said about the incident.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko had previously said that Belarus would apologize if its involvement was established.

On Monday, Minsk pointed a finger at Lithuania for allegedly sending a drone into the country's airspace, claiming it was to be used for espionage and the delivery of "extremist materials."

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry on Monday summoned Lithuania's chargé d'affaires, Erikas Vilkanecas, and demanded an explanation and a probe into the incident.

"The Republic of Belarus reserves the right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and security, based on the current situation," the ministry said in a statement Monday.

Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė said Tuesday she had received no information suggesting that Lithuania was involved in the incident, according to the BNS news agency.

High tesnions

In October, Lithuania closed its borders with Belarus after balloons repeatedly disrupted activity at the Vilnius airport.

In retaliation, Minsk prevented over 1,000 Lithuanian cargo trucks from exiting Belarus. Those trucks remain in Belarus, although the Lithuanian government gave in to pressure from the national logistics companies and reopened the border less than three weeks after it was shuttered.

Since then, Lithuanian authorities have noted that the number of balloons flying in has continued to rise.

"If necessary, we will close the border, but please understand that we must coordinate every action with our strategic partners," Ruginienė said on Tuesday.

An attempt at a solution

Lithuanian authorities offered 1 million euros to projects that could help defend against the disruption.

IT Logika, one of the beneficiaries, plans to develop an Intelligent Airspace Security System (IOEAS) to detect and identify targets at any time of the day, as well as a high-power laser to safely shoot down multiple balloons during the same flight. Object trajectory prediction and recognition would be performed using artificial intelligence algorithms. Real-time information would be provided from drone base stations, radars and other geographically distributed sensors.

Other planned measures include new harsh punishments for any activities that might be linked to cigarette smuggling and changing flight schedules.

"We are considering the possibility of moving night flights to other airports like Kaunas," Ignas Algirdas Dobrovolskas, an advisor to the prime minister, said. "We are now focusing on how to actually help people and businesses," he added.

writer Dasha Litvinova in Tallinn, Estonia, contributed to this report.

- Lilly Wachowski, who co-directed *The Matrix*, is criticizing right-wing misinterpretations of the hit sci-fi film.

- "Right-wing ideology appropriates absolutely everything," Wachowski said on a recent podcast. "They appropriate left-wing points of view, and they mutate them for their own propaganda, to obfuscate what the real message is."

- She and her sister, Lana Wachowski, have taken issue with some conservatives twisting the meaning of the film's famous "red pill" scene, which they conceived as a trans allegory.

Lilly Wachowski has had it with misreadings and misinterpretations of *The Matrix*.

The sci-fi classic she co-directed with her sister, Lana Wachowski, in 1999 tells the story of a lonely computer programmer named Thomas Anderson (Keanu Reeves), who suddenly wakes up to the fact that his drab reality is in fact an advanced computer simulation keeping humanity repressed. The movie's prescient exploration of the choice between a familiar yet crippling illusion and a scary yet liberating truth has proven to be an enduring cultural touchpoint.

But lately, Lilly isn't happy with what some viewers are doing with *The Matrix*'s message.

"Right-wing ideology appropriates absolutely everything. They appropriate left-wing points of view, and they mutate them for their own propaganda, to obfuscate what the real message is," Lilly said on a recent episode of the *So True *podcast. "This is what fascism does."**

The red pill and blue pill scene in 'The Matrix'

She continued, "They do it with absolutely everything. They do it with 'Make America Healthy Again," referencing Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s controversial public health initiative, which claims a mission of "pursuing truth, embracing science, and enacting pro-growth policies" but has targeted services like transgender medical care and vaccine programs.

"This idea of… there is only two biological genders," Wachowski said. "They're calling it science, but it is not science. And that is what fascism does. It takes these things, these ideas that are generally acknowledged as questions or investigations, or truisms about humanity and life, and they turn them to something else… They remove the weight of what those things represent."**

Lilly Wachowski came out as trans in 2016, giving "thanks to my fabulous sister," who had "done it before, but also because they're fantastic people." Indeed, Lana Wachowski came out as trans in 2008, reflecting later on her trepidation about going public with her identity, "When I say it's a matter of life and death, I'm saying that some people who have problems with transgender people suddenly recognize [us] as transgender, and that can have dire consequences when you live in a culture that's so uncomfortable with gender variation."

The *Matrix* scene that has gained the most traction in right-wing circles is the one in which Reeves' protagonist is given a choice between taking a blue pill, which will return him to the ignorance of his normal life, and a red pill, which will forever wake him up to the harsh realities of living within the totalitarian control of a surveillance apparatus.

"Red-pilling" has been interpreted by many conservatives as waking up to the "truth" of prohibitive views on cultural issues like LGBTQ rights. But in fact, both Wachowskis have revealed in the years since the film's release that its deeper meaning, encapsulated in the pill scene, is a trans allegory.

"That was the original intention, but the corporate world wasn't ready for it," Lilly explained in 2020, noting that the very concept of the Matrix "was all about this desire for transformation, but it was all coming from a closeted point of view."****

A Florida mom went into the birth of her third child expecting a "giant baby," but instead was met with a major surprise.

Sophie Geraci, a 26-year-old mom of three, tells PEOPLE she and her doctors were prepared for her third baby, daughter Anastazja, to be a "giant baby." Sophie, who's also a mom to daughter Rosalie, 23 months, and son Leonardo, 3, explains that her history of giving birth to larger babies, coupled with the way her baby girl was growing, suggested she should prepare for another large baby.

"At all of my growth scans, I was told she was measuring ahead of schedule," Geraci explains. "My first and second babies had also been on the larger side — 80th percentile or higher — and my doctors explained that babies often get bigger with each pregnancy. Based on the measurements and my history, they consistently prepared me for another large baby."

Sophie's older children, whom she shares with her husband, Maksimilian Geraci, 27, both weighed over 8½ lbs at birth. The proud mom shares that this reinforced the idea that she would be having another large baby."What's funny is that in both my family and my husband's family, neither of our mothers ever had babies over 7½ pounds," she says. "So hearing that both my first and second babies were estimated— and then born — over 8 pounds was shocking to all of us and reinforced the idea that this third baby would also be large."

Worried about the effect carrying a large baby would have on her body, Geraci says she ultimately decided to schedule a C-section. However, nothing could have prepared her and her husband for the moment they saw their daughter for the first time.

"I remember lying on the table, and my jaw literally dropped," she shares. "My doctor even held her up like Simba from The Lion King, and before they weighed her, I could already tell."

"She was tiny," Sophie tells PEOPLE. "The first thing I said to my husband was, 'Holy s---. She's so small and has so much hair!'"

In an Instagram Reel, shared in October, the newly minted mom of three poked fun at her "giant baby," who actually weighed 5lbs., 7 oz. Sophie tells PEOPLE that hearing her weight after all those months of her estimated growth being higher "felt unbelievable."

"I had to deliver early due to some complications, but my last growth scan had estimated her at around 8 lbs. So hearing her actual weight felt unbelievable," she says. "We ended up buying a whole set of preemie clothes and diapers, and she stayed in preemie sizes for the first four weeks."

Now, at 4 months old, Sophie says her baby girl is doing "really well." The mom of three tells PEOPLE that while she's still healing from the birth and recovery, her little one is "thriving."

"We're doing really well. I'm still pretty sore from the C-section, and recovery has been a bit harder this time since it was my second one. But my daughter is thriving," she says. "She's a little behind because of her adjusted age, but she's growing beautifully."

The doting mom adds, "She's happy, healthy, and the sweetest – and clingiest — of all three of my babies."
