Mark Consuelos is set to go muscle-to-muscle with Ghostface in *Scream 7*, but the *Live* host faced perhaps his greatest foe yet when he recently weathered a cloud of flatulence at the gym.

The 54-year-old star revealed that his peaceful workout at a posh hotel in early 2025 was interrupted when several men assaulted him with their farts.

"I was at the gym — this is when I was in Atlanta last January. It was a really nice gym … like a two-story gym," Consuelos said Thursday morning on *Live *as he and his wife, Kelly Ripa, were discussing new technological advancements in underwear that could lead to garments analyzing wearer's farts.

"People wore headphones. I don't. I like to be aware of what's going on," Consuelos added, before revealing the horrors that awaited him during this particular session.

He continued, "There were a couple guys that were just letting it fly. One guy letting it fly across from me, loud. He was sitting down, I was sitting down. I tried to make eye contact — like, 'Come on, man.' About 10 minutes later, another guy. I'm like, 'What's going on in this gym?' But like, *loud*."

The *Live* audience laughed at Consuelos' misfortune, while Ripa recalled another moment of Consuelos surviving fart-based terrorism.

"My uncle, may he rest in peace, I don't think he'd mind me telling this story," Ripa said after her husband shared his own war story from the gym. "He would take his hearing aids out, and he'd forget to put them back in. And he would let it rip because he thought we couldn't hear it. He thought he was sneaking 'em out, right there at the Thanksgiving dinner table. You looked at me and you go, 'He doesn't hear that, does he?'"

Earlier in the broadcast, Ripa brought up the topic of technologically advanced underwear that reportedly measure the release of one's gas to monitor their health.

"Now, they've got smart underwear. These are researchers developing smart underwear to track wearer's intestinal gas," Ripa said at the start of the telecast. "They're measuring flatulence. They're seeking volunteers. It's a small device that snaps into the wearer's underpants and uses electromechanical sensors to track the gas. They said to think of it like a continuous glucose monitor, but for farts."

Consuelos admitted that he "would only be into this thing if it gave you a rank."

"Like, 'Oh, that was good!'" he said. "Congratulations! Duration!'"
