For more than 75 years, David's Bridal has been a part of countless couples' wedding stories.

Now, the retail chain is showcasing some of those unforgettable stories in a new docuseries called Breaking Bridal.

The series, which marks the brand's first foray into original programming, spotlights real-life brides and grooms "who made one unexpected, rule-breaking decision that transformed their wedding into a deeply personal celebration, ranging from volcanic backdrops to unconventional venues and rituals," per a press release.

Each episode traces a couple's wedding planning journey "from bold idea to execution, culminating in celebrations that prioritize individuality over tradition."

The first episode spotlights Jess and Chris, who "shut down Universal Studios for a theme park wedding full personal touches and a phone-free policy that went viral," while subsequent episodes will feature a couple getting married on a live volcano and another working together to meld their unique cultures.

In the trailer, one groom says, "You have to prepare before you get married on an active volcano. Putting on hiking gear and carrying the stuff on our backs." Elsewhere, bride Jess and groom Chris discuss going viral for their theme park wedding.

The trailer then teases the series' mission statement by flashing the words "take the aisle less traveled" across the screen, while showing each couple doing just that in their own unique way. The clips in the teaser confirms there will be happy tears, last-minute mishaps and exciting locales as each couple prepares to say their "I dos" in an unconventional way.

According to David's, the series builds on a broader media strategy for the brand, following its 2024 acquisition of Love Stories TV, a video-first digital wedding planning platform, and subsequent launch of a retail media arm, Pearl Media Network.

The network extends Love Stories TV's unique storytelling across social media, podcasts, YouTube and streaming TV platforms. Breaking Bridal represents the next step: moving from distributed brand storytelling into premium original content," David's said in the release.

Episodes of the new docuseries will roll out biweekly on David's Bridal's YouTube channel and website beginning March 4, followed by video-on-demand distribution this summer on Sling, Roku and Tubi.
