TALLAHASSEE — Former Vice President Joe Biden, after his string of Super Tuesday victories, on Friday introduced more than 20 endorsements from present and former Florida elected officers, together with State Sen. Annette Taddeo.
Taddeo, a Miami Democrat who ran as Charlie Crist’s operating mate within the 2014 governor’s race, had remained on the sidelines even as the Democratic subject had continued to shrink. She was noncommittal about an endorsement earlier this week when asked.
Others now backing Biden embrace state Reps. Loranne Ausley (D-Tallahassee), Kamia Brown (D-Ocoee), Ben Diamond, Bobby DuBose (D-St. Petersburg), and Evan Jenne (D-Dania Seashore), as well as Sean Shaw, a former legislator who ran for lawyer basic in 2018.
Home Minority Chief Kionne McGhee, who had backed former Mayor Mike Bloomberg, was also included on an inventory of endorsements released by the Biden marketing campaign.
Earlier this week, after Bloomberg dropped out of the race, McGhee advised POLITICO that he was backing Biden.
"My number one aim, just like the aim of most my constituents, is to defeat Donald Trump and return to normalcy," he stated.
Florida’s lone statewide elected Democrat, Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, has nonetheless not endorsed within the presidential race.
