*Cinderella* stars Brandy and Whoopi Goldberg just held an emotional reunion three decades after making history with Whitney Houston in the 1997 family film.

Brandy joined Goldberg Wednesday morning for an interview on *The View*, with the pop star promoting her new memoir, *Phases*, and reflecting on her time acting alongside the Oscar-winning *Ghost* performer in *Cinderella*.

"I just remember being so excited and so blown away by all of these amazing legends and greats," Brandy told the cohosts of appearing in the film alongside Goldberg and the late Houston.

"We were blown away by you," Goldberg told Brandy, pausing to collect herself as she became emotional upon seeing a clip of Brandy meeting Houston, which *The View* played on screen earlier in the interview. The clip, from a '90s edition of *Extra*, showed Houston surprising Brandy and telling her, "I'm so proud of you."

Goldberg, 70, continued, "I'd seen you meet Whitney that first time [in the clip], I wasn't prepared for that, that threw me, then I started thinking about us on the set and the pumpkin, we had a great time."

Brandy, 47, then praised the EGOT-winning Hollywood staple for her warmth on the set of *Cinderella*.

"I was so happy to connect with you," Brandy told her costar. "You were so kind to me and encouraging. They don't make them like you anymore, Ms. Whoopi Goldberg."

The *Moesha *star explained that she attempted to meet Houston — one of her idols — earlier in her career, before she was famous.

"She was performing at The Forum, and I knew her band instructor," Brandy recalled. "I talked my way from the nosebleeds all the way down to backstage to meet her.... They let me back, but she had already finished and left and I couldn't meet her. I tried to meet her again, then she went into labor, so I didn't meet her until that moment!"

Goldberg, Houston, and Brandy first appeared together in Disney's television adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's *Cinderella*, which aired in November 1997 on ABC. The film went on to become a fan favorite among viewers, and represented a monumental moment in pop culture history, with Brandy becoming the first Black actress to play the title role in a major production. Houston and Goldberg costarred, respectively, as the fairy godmother and the queen.

In 2021, ** reunited members of the cast to reflect on the impact of the beloved movie project.

"It was a game changer, like it was just so different, and it just gave everyone an opportunity to just play these iconic characters, and see it in a different way. It was just so magical," Brandy told EW at the time, with Goldberg adding that "a lot of this came from the heart and soul of Whitney [Houston]. I know that a lot of what you're seeing is what she wanted."

Lili Reinhart is revealing some direction she once received that she was hardly excited to take.

In a new interview with the cast of *Forbidden Fruits*, she was asked about an "acting note that she took personally," and the *Riverdale* alum's response left her costars ready to put a "hex" on the perpetrator.

"When I had a male director come up to me and silently lean over and go, 'Just suck in your stomach a little bit,'" Reinhart told *Cosmopolitan*.

Her *Forbidden Fruits* costars Lola Tung, Victoria Pedretti, and Alexandra Shipp started groaning before Reinhart could even finish, and once she did Pedretti replied, "Oh my God. What is his name?"

"Tell you later," Reinhart said, to which Shipp exclaimed, "Say his name!"

Reinhart has long been open about her struggles with body image. "I wish there were more average-sized arms represented in mainstream media for women," the 29-year-old actress wrote on X in 2023. "My body dysmorphia has been going crazy because I feel like my arms need to be half the size they are currently. Ross Mathews very nearly said one of the most iconic lines in film history: "She doesn't even go here!"

The *RuPaul's Drag Race* judge and television personality, 46, revealed that he was asked to audition for the role of Damian in *Mean Girls*, but totally bombed his tryout and didn't get the part in the end.

"Back in 2002-ish, 2003? I was just on *The Tonight Show* and I got a call saying, 'Will you audition for this movie for a kid in high school?' And I was like, 'I'm too old,'" Mathews explained on Wednesday's episode of *The Drew Barrymore Show*.

He continued, "And they said, 'Tina Fey kind of had you in mind when she wrote the part of Damian.' I've never told anyone this!"

Mathews' audition, unfortunately, didn't earn him any you go, glen cocos. "I was terrible and didn't get it," he said, noting that the role ultimately went to Daniel Franzese instead.

Still, he doesn't have any hard feelings. "It's a great movie," Mathews added. "It's iconic, and I can't believe I was there at the beginning a little bit."

"And an inspiration, apparently!" host Drew Barrymore exclaimed, to which Mathews replied, "Well, you know, whatever! Hi, Tina Fey! Isn't that cool?"

Damian is one of the very first friends that new student Cady (Lindsay Lohan) makes after transferring to North Shore High School in Fey's 2004 teen comedy. Shortly afterward, he and pal Janice (Lizzy Caplan) concoct a plan to have Cady infiltrate the popular clique at school in order to get their revenge on them. Chaos, naturally, ensues.

The character of Damian was inspired by Fey's very own high school pal Damian Holbrook, who now works as a senior writer at TV Guide, as well as his older brother Jim.

"It's almost like my superpower," Holbrook told local Philadelphia news outlet Billy Penn at WHYY in 2023. "I may not have had a huge impact on the world, but this character has definitely made an impression. He's been embraced by people."

Regé-Jean Page is shaken, not stirred by speculation that he's the next James Bond.

In a new interview with Esquire UK, the *You, Me & Tuscany* star admitted that the incessant rumors about who'll inherit the Bond mantle from Daniel Craig are intense and "a little unusual."

"It is strange, it's not normal," he said, mulling over the post-*Bridgerton* period when his popularity soared. "How I navigate it is very much about what is useful, what serves me in my job, in being able to deliver what I need to deliver to an audience, and a lot of that is just grounding."

Page, 38, said he understands that it's important to play into the noise and casting reports at times, but it's a bit overwhelming.

"It does get quite loud on the inside," he told the magazine, "like it was very, very intense, that combination of conversation, and I think I worked quite consciously to be able to navigate that environment with some normalcy for myself."

Since his breakout performance as Simon, the Duke of Hastings, on season 1 of *Bridgerton*, Page has received consistent Bond queries. At the height of the buzz, he said that although he's honored to be considered a candidate, he just sees it as a "merit badge" for up-and-coming British actors.

"I think there might be an element of cultural translation to be done here," Page told Jimmy Fallon on* **The Tonight Show** *in 2021. "If you're a Brit, and you do something of any kind of renown that people regard well, then people start saying the 'B' word. It's like a merit badge. You get the 'B' word merit badge."

"I'm very, very glad to have the badge," he added at the time. "I'm glad to be in such wonderful company of people who have the badge. But it's a badge."

"That's an amazingly flattering ask," Bailey responded when BBC Radio 2 tossed out the Bond question in 2025. "It would be hard to say no, but I know that it's going to be exciting whatever they do."

As the scuttlebutt carries on, Euronews shared a cheeky casting "confirmation" on April Fool's Day 2026: Jessie Buckley is the new 007! (That's right: a female Bond!)

The site joked that Tom Hiddleston would play the franchise's first Bond boy and Gillian Anderson would be the new M in the Amazon film directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by *Peaky Blinders *creator Steven Knight — the last two of whom are genuinely attached to the 26th Bond movie.

"For those of you who are currently seething, check this article's publication date and consider seeking some professional help, as the Bond franchise should be so lucky as to have a casting roster this impressive. Happy April Fools," Euronews added.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said he was concerned about planned concerts in London by rapper Kanye West, who has a history of antisemitic outbursts and released a song called "Heil Hitler."

The 48-year-old hip-hop artist, who in recent years has become known just as Ye, is scheduled to headline the Wireless Festival in London this summer. His planned three-night engagement at the rap and R&B festival in July is part of a European tour.

Starmer told The Sun newspaper on Saturday that it was "deeply concerning Kanye West has been booked to perform at Wireless despite his previous antisemitic remarks and celebration of Nazism."

He added that "antisemitism in any form is abhorrent and must be confronted firmly."

Pepsi, which was originally the Wireless Festival's main sponsor, said it has "decided to withdraw its sponsorship" of the event, CBS partner BBC News reported. But Pepsi was still listed as a headline sponsor on the festival's website on Sunday. As BBC News noted, a description on the festival's website also said: "Pepsi MAX are a long-standing partner of Pepsi MAX presents Wireless Festival and look forward to creating more musical moments together."

PepsiCo, the parent company of Pepsi, did not immediately respond to a request for comment from AFP, according to the news outlet.

Jewish organizations and London Mayor Sadiq Khan have criticized West's planned appearances at the festival since organizers announced it on social media last month.

Other legs of West's European tour have proved controversial, too, with the mayor of Marseille in France saying he was "not welcome" for a concert there in June.

West has expressed regret over his antisemitic rants, which he blamed on his bipolar disorder.

In May 2025, he released a song called "Heil Hitler" to mark the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.

The song was banned by major streaming platforms.

Brian Cox, nearly 80, told The Times he's done holding back, unloading fresh criticism on Margot Robbie, and doubling down on past slams of Johnny Depp and Edward Norton.

Cox mocked Robbie's casting in Wuthering Heights, called Depp "overblown and overrated," labeled Norton "a pain in the arse," and torched Quentin Tarantino and Gary Oldman along the way.

The Succession star dismissed concerns from his wife and even Daniel Day-Lewis, declaring: "F–k it! I'm gonna say what I want to say."

Brian Cox has never been shy about his opinions. But somewhere between Succession wrapping and his upcoming 80th birthday, the Scottish actor has apparently decided that the filter is fully, officially, irrevocably off.

In a new profile with The Times UK — timed to promote his directorial debut Glenrothan — Cox dragged a remarkable roster of Hollywood names through the mud with the cheerful energy of a man who has genuinely stopped caring what anyone thinks.

When asked whether his relentless commentary on fellow stars has cost him anything, Cox was refreshingly unbothered. "I mean, my wife [Nicole Ansari-Cox] keeps saying, 'Brian, be careful. Brian, be careful.' I think, 'F–k it, I don't want to be careful anymore! I'll be 80 this year. F—k it! I'm gonna say what I want to say,'" he told the outlet.

And say it he did.

January 05, 2020: Brian Cox in the press room at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel — Photo by Featureflash/depositphotos.comJohnny Depp: Still Overrated, Apparently

Cox revealed that he declined to play the governor in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise because he didn't want to work with Johnny Depp, whom he called "so overblown, so overrated." The role, for those keeping score, went to Jonathan Pryce. Cox walked away. He has no regrets.

This isn't new territory — Cox has been lobbing this particular grenade at Depp for years — but he's clearly not done throwing it.

Margot Robbie: Too Pretty for Cathy

The freshest target this round is Margot Robbie, who is set to star as Catherine Earnshaw in Emerald Fennell's new adaptation of Wuthering Heights. Cox is… skeptical.

He mocked Robbie's Australian accent while riffing on the casting, exclaiming: "'Keith Cliff! It's me, Cathy! How ya doing, Keith? Awright?' 'Yeah, I'm awright!'"

"Margot Robbie is far too beautiful for that role," Cox said. "I mean, I think there should be something more of the Gypsy about her but it's wrong of me to judge. It may be a brilliant film."

He added that he hasn't actually seen the film yet. A minor detail, clearly.

Edward Norton, Kevin Spacey, Ian McKellen: A Buffet of Grievances

Cox co-starred with Edward Norton in Spike Lee's 25th Hour, and the experience left an impression — just not a good one. He called Norton "a pain in the ase," writing that "he's a nice lad but a bit of a pain in the ase because he fancies himself as a writer-director."

Cox extended his criticism to Kevin Spacey, whom he described as "a stupid, stupid man," and to his X2 co-star, Ian McKellen, saying the actor's performances are "not to my taste."

The slams didn't stop at actors. Cox called Quentin Tarantino "meretricious" and dismissed Gary Oldman's Oscar-winning Winston Churchill performance in Darkest Hour as "cobblers" and "a crowd-pleasing farrago."

He also referred to director Michael Caton-Jones as "a complete arsehole" and described playwright David Hare in terms not printable in polite company.

Daniel Day-Lewis Tried to Check Him. It Didn't Work.

Cox's ongoing criticism of method acting — including pointed remarks about Succession co-star Jeremy Strong — apparently irked Daniel Day-Lewis, who reportedly told Cox to get off his "soapbox." Cox's response to Day-Lewis? Ice cold.

Jeremy Strong, J. Smith-Cameron, Scott Ferguson, Brian Cox, Nicholas Braun and Kieran Culkin pose in the press room after receiving the Best Drama Series award for 'Succession' at the 27th Annual Critics' Choice Awards — Photo by Xavier Collin/Image Press Agency/depositphotos.com

"No, I haven't reached out because it's got nothing to do with Dan Day-Lewis," he said, dismissing the idea of a reconciliation entirely.

At this point, Brian Cox isn't just Hollywood's most prolific critic — he's its most committed one. Nearly 80, freshly directorial, and utterly uninterested in making friends on the way out, he's proof that there's a certain freedom that comes with age. Whether Hollywood appreciates the candor is, frankly, no longer his problem.

Kate's last appearance at Easter service was in 2023. In 2024, she had just revealed her cancer diagnosis and plans to undergo chemotherapy ahead of the event. In 2024, the Princess of Wales was in remission, but she and the family were at their Norfolk country home.

For her return this year, Kate wore the Oatmeal Tailored Crepe Lace Detail midi dress from Self Portrait, according to fashion Instagram account @katemiddletonstyled. She had a series of matching accessories, including an Oak Leaf Teardrop Hat from Juliette Millinery, the Nano Montreal DeMellier purse in Deep Toffee Smooth, and a pair of tan Ralph Lauren pumps. In her ears, she wore Queen Elizabeth's Bahrain Pearl Earrings.

In March 2026, royal photographer Chris Jackson shared his perspective on watching the children in the royal family grow up in an interview with Page Six.

"You don't see them very often, but when you do see them, it's lovely to watch them kind of growing up," Jackson shared. "I'm guessing they realize it's not normal to be in these situations."

He added of the kids, "It's lovely to see them interacting together. Photographing them over the years has been really special."
