Tom Kane, who voiced Yoda in the animated* Star Wars: The Clone Wars* feature film and television series as well as Professor Utonium on *The Powerpuff Girls*, has died. He was 64.
Kane died on Monday, May 18 at a hospital in Kansas City from complications from a stroke he experienced in 2020, and was surrounded by his family, according to his agent Zachery McGinnis.
"Today we say goodbye to Tom Kane — a legendary voice actor whose work shaped the childhoods and imaginations of millions around the world," McGinnis shared in a statement to **.
"From his unforgettable performances in *Star Wars* to countless animated series, documentaries, and games, Tom brought wisdom, strength, humor, and heart to every role he touched. His voice became part of our lives, our memories, and the stories we carry with us," McGinnis continued.**

Tom was a devoted husband and father who, alongside his wife, built a loving family of nine children — three biological and six welcomed through adoption and fostering. That compassion and generosity defined who he was just as much as his remarkable talent did."
At the end of his statement, McGinnis shared, "Though his voice may now be silent, the characters, stories, and love he gave to the world will live on forever. Rest in peace, Tom Kane. Thank you for everything. May the Force be with you, always."

Starting his voice acting career at 15, Kane lent his talents to various characters in animated series for the *Star Wars *franchise including Yoda, Admiral Ackbar, Boba Fett, and Qui-Gon Jinn. Kane also voiced Professor Utonium and HIM on *The Powerpuff Girls*, Darwin on *The Wild Thornberrys*, Mr. Herriman on *Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends*, and Woodhouse on *Archer*.
Outside of animated works, Kane became the voice for the Walt Disney World Monorail System in 2012.**

In November 2020, Kane suffered a stroke that resulted in him largely unable to speak, according to a post by his daughter on his Facebook page.
Two years before his stroke, Kane shared in an interview with Fandom Spotlite which characters he's had the most fun voicing.
"Well, Yoda is my favorite character because I'm a *Star Wars *nerd," Kane admitted. "But next to that, would have to be Professor Utonium because he's, first of all, Professor Utonium is probably the closest to my natural voice and he's a big dorky dad like I am, so there we go. It's a natural fit."**
