Prince William is reportedly a lot more similar to the late Queen Elizabeth, his grandmother, than his father, King Charles. Royal author Robert Hardman recently said to Marie Claire magazine that the Prince of Wales is “very much a family man.” The author continued, “He talks about change, but I think the sort of change he has in mind will be sort of internal.” The royal author also added, “It might be sort of tonal.”

In the meantime, Robert Hardman further went on to explain to the news outlet that it is more likely that any change by Prince William will focus on turning the monarchy “a little bit less ceremonial” with “a little less dressing up.” After that, the royal author expressed to the news outlet, “I don’t think he’s instinctively radical whereas his father, I think, was.” The author continued, “I mean, you look at when Charles was William’s age now.” The person added, “He was constantly making speeches complaining about the state of architecture, education, heritage, pollution.” The royal author also said that King Charles “was a very outspoken heir to the throne.”
Meanwhile, per the news outlet, Robert Hardman further noted that the late Queen Elizabeth had a massive influence on her grandson, Prince William. The royal author explained, “She changed the institution a lot, but incrementally.” According to the author, the late Queen was not into “big messages and big slogans and big change.” The royal author then said that she “liked the idea of the cumulative effect of lots of small, good things,” just like her grandson, Prince William.
