Brendan Fraser's heartwarming Rental Family is nearly available to watch at home.
PEOPLE can exclusively reveal that the Searchlight Pictures movie will be available on digital Tuesday, Jan. 13, then on Blu-Ray and DVD on Feb. 17.
In Rental Family, the Oscar winner, 57, plays an American actor living in Japan named Philip, who is "hired to play stand-in roles for strangers seeking connection," per a synopsis.
The at-home release will include a featurette titled "Rental Family Revealed," which features Fraser, writer-director Hikari and the movie's largely Japanese cast exploring behind-the-scenes moments from the film.
It also features nine deleted and extended scenes from the film, which also stars Takehiro Hira, Mari Yamamoto, Akira Emoto, Shino Shinozaki, Kimura Bun, Sei Matobu and Misato Morita.
"As performance begins to blur with reality, the immersive role-playing awakens his humanity and compassion, drawing him deeply into his clients' lives and pushing him off-script whenever his empathetic heart takes over," the synopsis teases.

Rental Family had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. At a Q&A after the premiere, Fraser said he learned to speak Japanese for the movie by mimicking the language through sound.
"So what you, of course, didn't see through the magic of editing, people were feeding me lines as I was making them sound as if they were my own," he said at the time.
The actor also told POEPLE in an interview that he felt the movie would "satisfy everyone's need to feel like [they] belong somewhere in the world, even when they're at their lowest."

In a behind-the-scenes featurette for the movie previously shared with PEOPLE in November, Fraser said he spent time "wandering the streets [of Tokyo] with my pocket translator trying to talk to anybody" while preparing. The actor added that spending time in Japan "was one of the most eye-opening experiences I've had in my career."
