JOE Madison, host of the SiriusXM speak show, The Black Eagle, has died at age 74.

Madison's household shared the news in a press release on Thursday, with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris paying tribute quickly after.

Vice President Kamala Harris shared her condolences by way of X, previously referred to as Twitter[/caption]

"It is with a heavy coronary heart that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Joe Madison," the statement read.

"Joe dedicated his life preventing for all those that are undervalued, underestimated, and marginalized.

"Although he's not with us we hope you will be a part of us in answering that call by continuing to be proactive within the struggle towards injustice."

Madison's family stated he died peacefully at residence surrounded by his household.

They went on to ask for privateness as they grieve the lack of their father and husband.

"The Black Eagle" was a legendary voice in radio who championed human and civil rights.

On his show, he would demand motion towards injustice, asking viewers, "what are we going to do about it?"

President Joe Biden shared his condolences for Madison on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday.

"Joe Madison was the voice of a era," he wrote.

"Whether it was a starvation strike for voting rights or his advocacy for anti-lynching laws that I used to be proud to sign up 2022, Joe fought onerous towards injustice. Jill's and my thoughts are together with his spouse, Sherry, and full family."

Vice President Kamala Harris, seen pictured above with Madison, additionally paid touching tribute.

"Joe Madison aligned his platform together with his objective," she stated.

"Via his decades-long career in radio, he championed the battle for equity and justice. Our nation is best due to his voice.

In 2021, Madison went on a 73-day starvation strike to encourage passage of voting rights payments. 

He was preventing prostate most cancers at the time and when requested if he understood the danger he was in, he replied, "I'm prepared to die."

The broadcasting hero went on depart from his radio present in December as he was battling prostate cancer, which he was recognized with in 2009.

He was very open about his cancer in hopes of encouraging more males to prioritize their health.

"Our hearts exit to his beloved wife, Sherry, along together with his whole family, his devoted listeners, and the numerous individuals he impressed together with his willpower to make the world a greater place."
