Former Premier League star Mario Melchiot did just that when he launched "Midas Touch" with two of his teammates back in 1998.

Melchiot joined his fellow Ajax stars Dean Gorre and Benni McCarthy to release the rap track alongside their on-field careers.

All three gamers went on to play in England with Melchiot and McCarthy each having prolonged spells in the Premier League.

McCarthy is now a primary staff coach at Manchester United and helps to assist Erik ten Hag at Previous Trafford.

But their temporary journey into the music business nonetheless has them hearing their track played in outlets back in Holland.

Former Chelsea star Melchiot solely advised Ladbrokes Fanzone: "Even to this present day, apparently, when you walk right into a store in Holland, they'll nonetheless play that music.

"H&M for instance, I heard, are all the time enjoying it. It's loopy!

"And typically I'll go to a bar in Holland, and the guy behind the bar will spot me… and the next factor you recognize, in fact, that track comes on!

Melchiot explained: "The one drawback was that Ajax have been performing so badly at the time, the coach, Jan Wouters, had to tell us to stop acting at TV exhibits and events and to concentrate on football!"

In the long run all three of the skills listened to Wouters and knuckled down on their soccer.

Melchiot went on to have spells at Chelsea, Birmingham Metropolis and Wigan Athletic in addition to representing the Dutch nationwide workforce 22 occasions.

While McCarthy was greatest recognized for his days at Porto, Blackburn Rovers and West Ham on prime of a world career that saw him earn over 75 caps for South Africa.

Gorre also performed some soccer in the English leagues with Huddersfield Town, Barnsley and Blackpool.
