COPS have launched a manhunt following a suspected acid assault in Clapham final night time.

Hearth crews and police attended the "horrific" scene which left 9 injured, including two youngsters, at 7:25pm on Wednesday.

A mum and her two youngsters came into contact with a "corrosive substance" and have been rushed to hospital after witnesses saw the suspect run around a automotive and "slam" a toddler to the floor.

Bystanders who attempted to assist the household also got here into contact with the substance, it is believed.

Detective Superintendent Alexander Fort stated: "A person was seen fleeing the scene. We're drawing on assets from throughout the Met to apprehend this individual and work is ongoing to determine what has led to this awful incident."

A helicopter has been deployed to assist within the hunt.
