Mnuchin: Stimulus deal will be finalized today

The Trump administration is hours away from finalizing a $1.6 trillion stimulus deal with Congress to battle the coronavirus epidemic, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin stated Sunday.

“I‘ve been chatting with Mitch McConnell, Chuck Schumer, the speaker, and I feel we've elementary understanding,” Mnuchin stated on “Fox Information Sunday.“ “We look foward to wrapping it up in the present day.”

The bill would tide the U.S. financial system over for 10 -12 weeks, Mnuchin stated, including that he expects a vote Monday morning. Beneath the bill, a household of four can anticipate a direct cost of about $three,000, Mnuchin stated.

McConnell will meet in his workplace with Mnuchin, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and House Minority Chief Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) at 11 a.m. Schumer and Pelosi have stayed in shut touch with Mnuchin throughout the negotiations.
