Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham acknowledged on Sunday the Republican majority “does not have the votes” in the Senate to shortly dismiss the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.
“That’s lifeless for practical functions,” the South Carolina Republican stated on on “Fox News Sunday.” “There are plenty of senators, who I feel will wind up acquitting the president, that consider that we have to hear the House’s case, the president’s case and ask questions.”

Some new allegations underscore the case towards the president — a blow to Republicans lobbying for a fast dismissal of the articles of impeachment.
