Philip Pacheco // Getty Images Key Points You Can See Everything featured an unexpected full-frontal nude shower scene of Elizabeth Holmes’ fiancé, Billy Evans, that shocked audiences. Billy claimed via a social media Q&A that his desire to include the nudity was a “false narrative,” alleging he was told the scene would be cut from the final film. Director Lance Oppenheim countered that Billy voluntarily offered to be filmed showering and didn’t object to full nudity, creating conflicting accounts about consent and the scene’s inclusion. When Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim named their Elizabeth Holmes doc You Can See Everything , viewers weren’t really anticipating full-frontal nudity from her fiancé, Billy Evans. But here we are! A few weeks after the film broke box office records, Billy has officially broken his silence on that shower scene.
He discussed how he really felt about his manhood being exposed on the big screen during an “Ask Me Anything” Q&A on social media, where he also revealed his “favorite pop diva.” (Yes, that’s real , and no, it’s not who you’d expect.)
When someone asked, “Honestly why the shower scene that doesnt happen unless you want it to,” he claimed it was a “false narrative.” Then, someone else chimed in, “They forced themselves into the shower with you or they just started filming and you didn’t tell them to stop?”
Billy dropped a link to People ’s recent report about the scene, where sources shared how he really felt about his nudity making the final cut. “Trust the ‘sources,’” he said.
One of People ’s sources claimed Billy had been told his nudity would be “cut from the film,” while TMZ reported that he was told “it would not make the final cut for legal reasons.”
“The shower scene wasn’t Billy’s idea. He only agreed to it with an understanding they would keep it PG,” another insider told the outlet. “Finding out otherwise via media coverage would be unsettling for anyone, to say the least. It’s a violation of trust and exploiting that trust for shock value.”
Both the report and Billy’s doubling down come after one of the film’s directors, Lance Oppenheim, insisted that he “didn’t care” that they had filmed him during a post-gym shower.
During an interview with Vulture , Lance suggested that Billy “really had something he wanted to show to us and to the world” when it came to the infamous full-frontal scene.
“I feel like there’s enough stuff in there that gives me the impression that maybe he was excited that people could see everything and that there was full access, I guess,” Lance also told GQ , in part. “We were in the car ride on the way back from the gym, and I said to Billy, ‘We will give you some time to shower.’ And Billy responded, ‘Want to film me showering?’ I offered to film him in a way that could avoid seeing his genitals, but Billy said he didn’t care about being seen naked.”
