The first project from Muse Films will be the upcoming documentary about the first lady, MELANIA, which she has been filming throughout the year

Amazon MGM Studio purchased the rights to the documentary, which is set to debut in theaters on Jan. 30, 2026, for a reported $40 million

First lady Melania Trump is launching a film production company.

She announced the news with little fanfare on Nov. 28, choosing to post a 10-second video on her personal X page. The post shared that the production company will be called Muse Films — an apparent nod to her Secret Service code name, Muse.

The first lady also reminded followers that her documentary, MELANIA, will be premiering exclusively in theaters worldwide on Jan. 30, 2026.

The announcement was notably muted for a member of the Trump family, who often announce their new ventures and openings with a great deal of publicity. The first lady is often on hand at events and ribbon-cutting ceremonies alongside her husband, President Donald Trump.

There are currently two production companies operating as Muse Films, one of which is a subsidiary of Amazon based in Europe and the other is an American company whose past films include The Virgin Suicides, American Psycho and Spring Breakers.

It is unclear if this production company will be tied to one of those or be entirely independent.

The first, and only, known project from Muse Films at this time is her self-titled documentary, which Amazon MGM Studios will be releasing after reportedly paying $40 million for the project. That deal came together just before President Trump's second term in office began, and around the time that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos attended the inauguration.

"MELANIA offers unprecedented access to the 20 days leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration — through the eyes of the First Lady-elect herself," Amazon MGM said of the film.

"Step inside Melania Trump's world as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition, and reenters public life with her family. With exclusive footage capturing critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments, MELANIA showcases Mrs. Trump's return to one of the world's most powerful roles."

In addition to he documentary, the deal gives the studio distribution rights for a multi-episode series to follow the film.
