Second-hand retailer CeX has launched a no repair no pay partnership with 'leading edge tech repair geeks', to repair new and previous gaming gear.

In case your PlayStation 5 or Mega Drive console has gone bust, or is simply amassing mud in your garage, gaming retailer CeX and restore firm Tech Centre needs to give you a solution.

That would come in useful for retro players particularly, who, as our trip to the London Gaming Market proved, are still very much a thriving community.

The new repair scheme will cowl both new and previous consoles, handhelds, and controllers, and you solely need to pay if the gear is successfully fastened.

CeX works as a drop-off point for what needs fixing, whereas Tech Centre does the actual repairing.

If Tech Centre can't fix your gaming gear, then there isn't a payment to pay for the attempt. If a restore is profitable, you pay for the fix but in addition get a two-year warranty with it.

The Tech Centre website claims it could fix your console, handheld, or controller in about seven days. Fees range from £26.99 for controllers to £39.99 to repair an unique Recreation Boy and £99.99 to fix a PlayStation 5 console.
