CASEY Benjamin, an iconic saxophonist and member of the original hip-hop band the Robert Glasper Experiment, has died at age 45.

Benjamin was a two-time Grammy Award winner who, alongside the Robert Glasper Experiment, collaborated with hip-hop greats like Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, and Nas.

Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Casey Benjamin has died

Benjamin died on Monday, his administration confirmed to Huff Post.

A explanation for dying was not immediately offered.

Bandmate Derrick Hodge, who performed the electrical bass alongside Benjamin, pianist Robert Glasper, and drummer Chris Dave on the Robert Glasper Experiment, mourned Benjamin's dying in a social media submit.

Born in Queens, New York, Benjamin first started enjoying the saxophone when he was simply 8 years previous.

From there, Benjamin studied on the Harlem Faculty of the Arts and Fiorello H. LaGuardia High Faculty of Music and Art, based on New Musical Express.

He later continued learning at The New Faculty for Jazz and Modern Music.

Throughout his profession, the musician labored with several legendary artists together with Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, and more.

Benjamin gained two Grammys as a member of the Robert Glasper Experiment.

In 2013, the hip-hop group gained Greatest R&B Album for Black Radio.

Two years later, they took house the award for Greatest Conventional R&B Performance for Jesus Youngsters.

Many artists and musicians who collaborated with Benjamin through the years shared their condolences and sorrow over his demise on social media.

"Rest In Peace Casey Benjamin," rapper Lupe Fiasco wrote on Instagram.

"I can't even begin to precise the deep gratitude and respect. My deepest condolences to the family, followers and associates."
