"A 55-year-old male was walking when he was struck in the head by an unknown object," the NYPD stated.
"A preliminary investigation decided a 27-year-old male threw a rock putting the victim behind the neck, causing minor injuries."
"The 27-year-old topic,& Xavier Israel, was taken into custody. He is undomiciled," the NYPD added.
The New York Post broke the information that suspect Xavier Israel reportedly used a rock to strike the actor.
After a chase between Israel and Michael, the suspect was apprehended by the authorities stationed outdoors the Consulate Basic of the Russian Federation in the Upper East Aspect of Manhattan.
The authorities took Israel into custody with out incident and charged him with assault.
Although he ended up with an abrasion, the Arrival star declined medical help.
Israel was previously arrested for two assaults and theft in January 2022, per the NYPD.
