THE US has hit and destroyed six Houthi anti-ship cruise missiles in Yemen tonight.

The targets posed an "imminent menace" to vessels in the Pink Sea, in response to the US Central Command.

The US forces carried out the "self defence" strikes at around 7.20pm native time.&

CENTCOM stated: "This motion will shield freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for US Navy and merchant vessels."

US forces have beforehand destroyed anti-ship missiles from the rebels for the same causes, again in January.

The US Navy is at present dealing with the most important battle it has seen at sea within the Center East in many years.

This follows further strikes from the US against targets in Syria and Iraq on Friday night time.
