Audiences had the time of their lives watching *Dirty Dancing* in 1987.

Emile Ardolino's kinetic classic tells the story of an earnest daddy's girl (Jennifer Grey) who falls for a macho dance instructor (Patrick Swayze) at the Kellerman's resort in the Catskills.

The chemistry between Grey and Swayze turned the romantic dance drama into a worldwide phenomenon. Along with its killer soundtrack selling more than 32 million units, the film earned $214 million at the global box office and became the first movie to sell over one million copies on home video.

Despite two attempts to recapture the magic with a 2004 prequel and a 2017 TV remake, no one has successfully duplicated the feeling of that first triumphant lift. But perhaps that will change with Lionsgate's in-development sequel, which will hopefully see Grey reprising her role as Frances "Baby" Houseman.

"The role of Baby has held a very deep and meaningful place in my heart, as it has in the hearts of so many fans over the years," said Grey, who will also serve as an executive producer, in a January 2026 statement. "I've long wondered where we might find Baby years later and what her life might be like, but it's taken time to assemble the kind of people that I felt could be entrusted to build on the legacy of the original film... and I'm excited to say that it looks like the wait will soon be over!"

As we wait to see how the project shakes out, let's take a look at where the original *Dirty Dancing* cast is now.

Before she played the shy, watermelon-carrying teenager who transforms into a confident dancer, Jennifer Grey began performing thanks to her pedigree as the daughter of Broadway star Joel Grey (who won a Tony and an Oscar for his stage and screen work in *Cabaret*).

After appearing in films like *Red Dawn* (1984) and *Ferris Bueller's Day Off* (1986), Grey took on the role of Frances "Baby" Houseman, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.

Grey spoke with ** in 2022 about why her iconic watermelon line strikes a chord with viewers. "I think that the specificity of the feeling of intense shame… That feeling, that human feeling, is so universal," she said. "The idea of just wanting to look good and just feeling like, 'Oh, now I've done it. Now he'll see I'm worse than he thought. I'm like a freaking idiot.'"

Grey struggled to find continued success in Hollywood, in part due to a rhinoplasty that made her almost unrecognizable. In the '90s, she appeared on the first season of *Friends* as Rachel's (Jennifer Aniston) former BFF Mindy, but undiagnosed anxiety led her to pass on an offer to return.

Returning to the world of dance in 2010, Grey won the Mirror Ball trophy in season 11 of ABC's *Dancing With the Stars*.

In 2022, she released a memoir, *Out of the Corner*, in which she dished on her plastic surgery and, of course, the film that put her on the map.

The actress has enjoyed a career resurgence in recent years, with a leading role on Prime Video's *Red Oaks *giving way to turns in Lifetime's *Gwen Shamblin: Starving for Salvation* (2023) and the Oscar-winning *A Real Pain* (2024).

Grey was married to Marvel star Clark Gregg for 20 years until their divorce in 2021. They share a daughter, Stella, whom the actress told EW did not enjoy watching her mother dirty dance with another man.

Patrick Swayze (Johnny Castle)

Patrick Swayze did his own "kind of dancing" as rebellious lover boy Johnny Castle. Prior to his *Dirty Dancing* role, the actor played Danny Zuko in *Grease *on Broadway and another greaser in *The Outsiders *(1983) alongside future stars like Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, and Ralph Macchio.

A singer, Swayze recorded the ballad "She's Like the Wind" for the *Dirty Dancing *soundtrack. The song reached No. 3 on the *Billboard* Hot 100. Speaking with PEOPLE, he said it's about "a man [who] is in love with a woman and he knows he's not good enough." He continued, "That's kind of how Johnny felt with Baby: *She so outclasses me, how dare [I think] she might love me?* I think I accidentally keyed into something that so many guys feel."

After *Dirty Dancing*, Swayze continued on a hot streak with films like *Road House *(1989)*, Point Break* (1991), and *Ghost* (1990), which brought him his second Golden Globe nomination.

He would receive a third nom in 1996 for the drag comedy *To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything!, Julie Newmar. *Although his box office heat cooled down by the late '90s, the actor continued to appear in projects like *Donnie Darko *(2001)* *and even made a small appearance as a dance instructor in the less-beloved *Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights*.

In 2007, while filming the pilot for the A&E series *The Beast*, Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He died in 2009, and is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lisa Niemi.

The couple co-wrote the memoir *The Time of My Life*, which was published posthumously in 2010. In 2019, Niemi participated in the documentary that chronicled the star's life and career, *I Am Patrick Swayze*.

Jerry Orbach (Jake Houseman)

Ahead of playing Baby's disapproving father, Dr. Jake Houseman, Tony-winning actor Jerry Orbach was already a fixture on Broadway, originating the role of Billy Flynn in the musical *Chicago*.

By the time *Dirty Dancing *premiered in 1987, viewers outside New York were most familiar with his recurring stint as private eye Harry McGraw on *Murder, She Wrote, *as well as the crime thrillers *Prince of the City* (1981) and *F/X *(1986).

The star received more than just a career boost from the 1987 blockbuster. Orbach was also given profit participation as part of his deal, which turned out to be a bigger payday than anyone expected. He told EW in 1991, "Nobody knew how big that movie was going to be, or they wouldn't have given us a little piece of it."

Post–*Dirty Dancing*, Orbach further endeared himself to generations of TV and film fans with his long-running portrayal of Det. Lennie Briscoe on *Law & Order* — and for giving voice to the hospitality-minded candlestick Lumière in Disney's *Beauty and the Beast* (1991). He played the two characters across several spinoff shows and direct-to-video sequels, and continued to appear on *Murder, She Wrote* until 1991.

The actor was married to Marta Curro from 1958 to 1979, with whom he had two sons. In 1979, he tied the knot with actress Elaine Cancilla. Following a private 10-year struggle with prostate cancer, the actor died at age 69 in December 2004. He delivered his final onscreen performance posthumously in *Law & Order: Trial by Jury* in 2005.

Kelly Bishop (Marjorie Houseman)

Baby's mother, Marjorie, is played by Broadway vet Kelly Bishop.

However, Bishop was originally cast in the role of seductress Vivian Pressman before being recast on location. She told Canada's *National Post*, "What was good about the role was that I'd always played the other woman, that character I was cast for originally, and this changed me into more of a mom, which broadened my outlook a little bit… Although I have to admit I found being a nice mom not nearly as much fun as being a bad girl."

Bishop went on to play sharp-tongued matriarch Emily Gilmore for seven seasons on *Gilmore Girls*. She returned for the Netflix limited series *Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life *in 2016. In fact, her most frequent collaborations over the last few decades have been with *Gilmore *creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, with whom she reteamed for *Bunheads*, *The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel*, and *Étoile*.

Most recently, Bishop joined the ensemble of Apple TV's hit series *Shrinking*.

Bishop was married to TV personality Lee Leonard for nearly 40 years until his death in 2018.**

Cynthia Rhodes (Penny Johnson)

Cynthia Rhodes was no stranger to hoofing it on screen prior to *Dirty Dancing — *thanks to supporting roles in *Xanadu* (1980),* Staying Alive *(1983), *Flashdance *(1983), and *Runaway *(1984).* *

Before *Dirty Dancing*, she worked with the film's choreographer, Kenny Ortega, in a long-form video for the band the Tubes before taking on the role of Johnny's original dance partner, Penny Johnson, whose botched abortion sets the plot in motion.

In 1989, Rhodes described the grueling process of preparing for the movie's dance sequences. "We started rehearsals about two weeks before we started the film and we rehearsed every day for about 10 hours a day to make it look, like, that Patrick and I had been dancing together all of our lives… it was really hard… and that's why I keep saying I'm never going to dance again."

Post–*Dirty Dancing*, Rhodes focused on music, taking over as lead singer for the group Animotion's third album. However, the band broke up soon after, and Rhodes went on to star in only one more film, 1991's *Curse of the Crystal Eye,* before retiring from show business to focus on raising her children.

Rhodes was married to singer Richard Marx for 25 years. The couple divorced in 2014, and they have three children together: sons Lucas, Jesse, and Brandon.**

Jane Brucker (Lisa Houseman)

Dirty Dancing Where Are They Now; Jane Brucker

Jane Brucker as Lisa Houseman.

Lisa, Baby's self-centered sister who warbles off-key during the Kellerman's talent show, is played by Jane Brucker. The actress made her film debut in *Dirty Dancing*, where she not only shimmied her way through the performance of "Hula Hana," but also co-wrote the song on set with Ortega.

She told EW, "I wrote the story of the spoiled brat on an island, just during breaks.… [At some point] Kenny said, "Put 'wacka wacka' in it." I thought you couldn't put "wacka" in the song because it sounded like "whack off." I thought he was nuts.… But then I thought, "Wait a minute, the movie's called *Dirty Dancing*. Maybe I'm just square."

After hanging up her grass skirt, Brucker reunited with Grey in 1989's ensemble comedy *Bloodhounds of Broadway* (1989). She also appeared in the films *Stealing Home* (1988) and *Dishdogz* (2005).

While she initially didn't fight for songwriting credit out of fear of making waves, she later pursued publishing rights for "Hula Hana" and found the statute of limitations had passed. But when a stage musical was launched and featured the song, the actress, along with Ortega, was able to retroactively receive the credit she deserved.

In 2022, she (sort of) returned to the world of *Dirty Dancing *as a guest judge on the short-lived Fox reality competition series, *The Real Dirty Dancing*.

Brucker was married to actor Brian O'Connor until 1993. She then married photographer Raul Vega in 2001. She has one daughter from each marriage.

Jack Weston (Max Kellerman)

Jack Weston played the conservative Max Kellerman, the owner of the resort where everyone had the time of their lives.

By the time cameras rolled on *Dirty Dancing, *Weston had been acting professionally since the 1950s and had accumulated more than 100 credits. His most well-known films include *Wait Until Dark* (1967), *The Thomas Crown Affair* (1968), and *Cactus Flower *(1969). In 1976, he was nominated for a Golden Globe for *The Ritz*, and he received a Tony nomination in 1981 for his work in the Woody Allen play *The Floating Light Bulb.*

After the Housemans left Kellerman's, Weston only appeared on screen one more time in the 1988 comedy *Short Circuit 2. *He returned to the stage in 1991 for a one-night production of *The Odd Couple *on Broadway before exiting the spotlight.

His first marriage was to actress Marge Redmond of *The Flying Nun *fame. After they divorced, he married Laurie Gilkes, with whom he had one child. He died from lymphoma in 1996.

Wayne Knight (Stan)

Dirty Dancing Where Are They Now

Kellerman's would-be comedian and resort announcer is played by character actor Wayne Knight.

The actor is best known for playing the sleazy Dennis Nedry in *Jurassic Park* (1993) and the calculating Newman on *Seinfeld*. He chased *Seinfeld* with another long-running role on *3rd Rock From the Sun*, and now boasts a résumé with more than 120 credits and counting — including *Space Jam* (1996), *Rat Race *(2001), and a slew of animated projects.

Recently, Knight appeared in *Five Nights at Freddy's 2* (2025) and *Goat* (2026), as well as on episodes of *9-1-1: Lone Star *and *St. Denis Medical.*

He was married to make-up artist Paula Sutor from 1996 to 2003. He and his second wife, Clare de Chenu, have been married since 2006 and have a son named Liam.**

Lonny Price (Neil Kellerman)

Before playing Neil Kellerman — Baby's entitled would-be paramour who "wouldn't know a new idea if it hit him in the Pachanga" — Lonny Price worked steadily in theater, including as part of the 1981 original Broadway cast of Stephen Sondheim's *Merrily We Roll Along*.

Following *Dirty Dancing*, he guested on several TV series before stepping behind the camera. As a director, Price worked on shows such as *Desperate Housewives* and *Great Performances*. He also brought his talents back to theater and won two Emmys for directing the broadcasts of *PBS Great Performances: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street *and *Sondheim! The Birthday Concert.*

He directed Glenn Close in the 2017 Broadway revival of *Sunset Boulevard*, and continues working both on and off-Broadway to this day.

Max Cantor (Robbie Gould)

Max Cantor played Robbie, the philandering, Ayn Rand-espousing waiter who abandons the pregnant Penny.

The actor had a short-lived career, consisting of only five roles, of which *Dirty Dancing *was the most successful. Cantor also appeared in the 1983 TV pilot version of the movie *Diner *and an episode of the series *Leg Work* in 1987.

His final performance was in Todd Solondz's debut feature, the 1989 film *Fear, Anxiety & Depression. *In addition to being a performer, he was also a journalist who wrote for publications like *The Village Voice*.

Cantor died of a heroin overdose in 1991 at the age of 32.**

Neal Jones (Billy Kostecki)

Dirty Dancing Where Are They Now; Neal Jones

Neal Jones as Billy Kostecki.

Vestron Pictures

Neal Jones made his film debut in *Dirty Dancing*, playing dancer Billy Kostecki, Johnny's cousin who hands Baby the infamous watermelon. Before swaying and grinding to Otis Redding's "Love Man" after hours, the Kansas-born performer honed his skills in New York productions like *Macbeth* and the Tony-winning musical *Big River.*

"I'd never been on a film set, so it was all really bright lights to me," he said in a 2008 interview. "I was just trying to stay afloat because… the difference between theater and film and television is a wide gorge."

Post–*Dirty Dancing*, Jones crossed paths with Orbach in two more projects — the Al Pacino-starring film *Chinese Coffee *(2000)* *and four episodes of *Law & Order*. He also worked with Pacino and Keanu Reeves in the supernatural legal thriller *The Devil's Advocate* (1997), and received acclaim for his work on the HBO miniseries *Generation Kill*.

Jones also has credits in the films* Glengarry Glen Ross* (1992) and *In America* (2002). His last credited role was for a short in 2011, and he appears to have stepped away from Hollywood.

Miranda Garrison (Vivian Pressman)

Dirty Dancing Where Are They Now; Miranda Garrison

Miranda Garrison as Vivian Pressman.

Vestron Pictures

Miranda Garrison slinks her way around Kellerman's as Johnny's seductive sugar mama Vivian. She also served as the assistant choreographer.

In a 2008 interview, she spoke about the experience of choreographing the film's iconic lift. "Kenny Ortega, myself, and most likely Patrick Swayze presented many 'lifts' to the director Emile Ardolino and writer Elinor Bergstein," she said. "Emile and Elinor wanted a through-line metaphor for the ultimate triumph of both Baby and Johnny. Once this lift was found we all knew its narrative power."

In the years since* Dirty Dancing*, she has primarily played dancers in movies like *Salsa *(1988)*, The Forbidden Dance *(1990)*, *and *Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights*.

The bulk of her work in Hollywood has been as the lead choreographer on several productions, including *Evita* (1996) with Madonna and *Selena *(1997) with Jennifer Lopez.

She also served as a judge for two seasons on the U.K. reality competition *Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life. ***

Cillian Murphy in upcoming Peaky Blinders movie

**Warning: This article contains spoilers from *Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man*.**

Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) knows death. He always has, ever since his experience in No Man's Land during WWI. But as *Peaky Blinders* wrapped up its six-seasons-and-a-movie story with *The Immortal Man*, the beloved gangster became more familiar than ever before.

When the movie picks up, we find Tommy in a dark place, resolving himself to a lonely life of writing. As we quickly learn, his isolation is explainable in part because he killed his brother Arthur (Paul Anderson).

"We find him in a place where he's withdrawn from the world," *Peaky* creator Steven Knight tells **. "He's haunted by the things he's done. And we learn that there's another reason why he's so haunted, and it's because he killed his brother. Here's a man who spent his life protecting family. Everything was about family. The reason he gave for the bad things he did is because it was good for the family. So this has broken all of his own codes."

Sophie Rundle as Ada in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

Sophie Rundle as Ada in 'Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man'.

It takes a visit from a gypsy queen and an opportunity to help his remaining family to get Tommy back into his three-piece suit. "For family, he's invited to come back to the world and save his son," Knight says. "And that's what he does."

But Tommy's journey to save his son Duke (Barry Keoghan) is abruptly interrupted when, on his way into town, his last remaining sibling, Ada (Sophie Rundle), is brutally shot and killed in the street.

"I've always loved the character of Ada. I'd named Ada after my grandmother," Knight reveals. "She was a force of nature and someone who held the family together all through the series. Every time Tommy has a problem with strategy, he went to Polly [Helen McCrory], but when he had a problem of the heart, he went to Ada."

'Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man' ending explained: Who lives? Who dies? How's Tommy?

So why kill her in such a shocking way?

"It's an expression of the nature of violence and the idea that at that time, death was like that. The bomb drops, you're gone. So I wanted to reflect that. But then we do see her again in the world."

Specifically, we see her when she appears to Tommy as a spirit, standing in the road.

But Ada's death was not the last. Tommy himself, after he avenges his sister and saves his son, asks Duke to shoot him. (He's already wounded and on his way out.) Duke abides, and gives Tommy the peace for which he's long been searching.**

Kathleen Bradley became the first full-time Black model on The Price Is Right in 1990, a role that she and her onscreen successor Claudia Jordan claim opened them up to 'raging' racism from fans, producers, and the show's longtime host himself, Bob Barker.

"As time went on, at some point it got back to me that some of the fans were writing negative things about me being on the show, as a Black model," Bradley alleged in new E! docuseries Dirty Rotten Scandals. "[It was] just not a good feeling... And one of the members of the production team brought to my attention that, inside a production meeting, when models weren't in there, they would use the N-word."

The former "Barker's Beauty" added, "I think people should know the truth — the good, the bad, and the ugly."

Kathleen BradleyCredit: E! Entertainment/YouTube

Fellow Price Is Right alum Holly Hallstrom claimed that Barker's virulent racism led to the explosive altercation between Barker and costar Dian Parkinson, who had an affair with the host after his wife's death and during his subsequent relationship with Nancy Burnett. Hallstrom claimed that Parkinson dating celebrities, "including several Black men," became a point of contention between the two.

"[Burnett] said, 'Oh my gosh, Bob has no idea that he's had sex with a woman who has had sex with Black men. Bob has always said that Black men are the most diseased people on Earth," Hallstrom shared in the documentary, noting the racism in the situation didn't surprise her because of Barker's status as a white man of a certain age.

Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our EW Dispatch newsletter.

A decade after Bradley joined the show, Jordan becomes the second Black "Barker's Beauty." Time, she said in the documentary, had not lessened the racism on set one bit. She said that producer Phil Wayne specifically would regularly make comments that "carried on that old spirit of racism," and alleged he sexually harassed her because she was Black.

"'Let's make a reverse Oreo, Claudia, you get in the middle of the two white models,'" she recalled him saying to her. "Or [he'd] tell me I'm the 'ass model' because stereotypically, Black women have a larger behind — and I guess that's why he wanted to grab and feel it."

Jordan alleged that Barker and the producers' bigotry extended to Price Is Right contestants, as well, citing "a darker side to the show."

"They would go through potential audience members in the line looking for contestants. It was stereotypes that were definitely pushed on the show, negative stereotypes of Black people like the overweight Black woman, or the extra loud, ridiculous person," Jordan said. "Then I started to hear that they were only allowed to have two Black contestants on the show at a time, and that was a direct order from Bob Barker. And to let Barker know the race of the contestant that was about to come on down, they would have a letter B written on the card."

She added, "It was pretty sad. A Black contestant may try to hug Bob Barker and he'd kind of shrink away from them."

Jordan said that having enough, she announced her exit onstage at the end of a show. "I got the microphone and said, 'I just want to say something. I can't do this anymore.... I'm going to miss this, but this is my last day,'" she recalled.

The next day, Jordan claimed, she sought out the same lawyer who represented Hallstrom when she sued Barker for age, weight, and medical discrimination, wrongful termination, and malicious prosecution. Jordan filed her own suit for sexual harassment and racial discrimination in 2004. According to Jordan, The Price Is Right's production company settled with her out of court.

Barker, who died in 2023, had hosted the daytime TV staple since 1972.

In response to the claims made in the explosive TV documentary, Barker's longtime representative, Roger Neal, denied any allegations of sexual misconduct against Barker or the show in a statement to USA TODAY Wednesday.

"Barker was and is beloved, and people to this day love him," Neal said. "He was part of the fabric of American pop culture. He was the greatest MC in TV history. I was honored to have represented him."

Spoilers ahead for season one of The Madison.

In the final scenes of The Madison's first one, Stacy (Michelle Pfieffer) skips out on the memorial for her husband (at her own apartment!) and hops in a cab, no destination in mind. Her daughters Abigail and Paige (Beau Garrett and Elle Chapman) wait up for her to return, but she never comes back. She leaves her cell phone behind, and no one knows where she is. Tearfully, Abigail calls the police to file a missing persons report. (Viewers quickly learn that Stacy has gone to Montana, but her family doesn't know that yet.)

It's an emotional cliffhanger for the six-episode first season of Taylor Sheridan's latest series, but fear not: The show has already filmed a second season.

"So many of my friends and family and people I haven't heard from in ages have been reaching out saying how touched they are by this show, which is so cool," Garrett tells Town & Country. "We knew we made something really special … We had two years to do it, which is so rare—two seasons under our belt before the world got to see it."

Here, Garrett opens up about the finale, what drew her to Abigail, and teases what's next in season two.

Let's start at the end: Why does Abigail file a missing persons report? Does she really thinks her mom is gone?

The Clyburns are back in New York City in the finale.Emerson Miller/Paramount+

Abigail has no idea what her mom is capable of at this point in time. I think that there is a real fear that she is somebody who might not want to be on this planet anymore—that has been something that's been sitting with her since they got to Montana. And I think it is the reason why Abigail is so focused on trying to be there for her because I do think there's an instability that she's not recognized before in her mother. And so the missing persons report, I think it's all-encompassing: She is missing in a lot of ways, mentally, spiritually, emotionally. There's a real fear that she does not want to be on earth anymore.

Did you know that that scene was going to be the last moment of season one when you filmed it?

No, I didn't. They had originally rewritten it. They recut it in watching the edits to leave it where she's back in Montana, but what does that mean? What does everyone else do? Where are we all going to be?

They changed it while we were shooting season two, so I knew it would end there, but it changes everything in the beginning of season two for us, because originally it was written that we go find her. So it'll be interesting to see how that plays and how they cut it. Obviously, we shot season two, so we know what happens, but the audience doesn't.

What can you tease about what's next for Abby in season two?

I felt that season one was upheaval, chaos, gray areas, uncertainty, and volatile emotions—that crazy unpredictable [experience of] grief. Season two, there's a lot more levity. I do feel like season one has a lot of humor and levity and places that you don't expect it, but it still has this through line of loss that comes up in unexpected ways, which makes this story so beautifully written. But yeah, I think that season two, you'll find that there's a settling in a sense; we're more immersed in this Montana life that is very different than what we know. There's been bits of that in season one where you see the hornets or things that are so outside of this family's comfort zone. There's more dabbling into that world and dabbling into Montana people and life and culture. And what does that look like for this family who is clearly not in their comfort zone?

A lot of viewers are rooting for her and Van. What does it feel like to be the main love story of a series?

While in Montana, Abigail falls for local sheriff, Van, a widower and single father of two boys.Emerson Miller/Paramount+

The pressure's there. I've never had to fall in love on screen; that's a really interesting thing to play. I've been with my husband for six years. We love each other deeply, but that falling in love thing goes away at time. You fall in love with bits of them as you dive deeper into relationships and having a baby and getting married and all these big steps, losing family members… when you're with someone, you really go through the gambit of loss.

We're really protective of their story, both Ben [Schnetzer, who plays Van] and I are. We really care a lot about these two characters, and he's also suffering from massive loss, and they are both so broken. As an actor, you really want to protect that. The stakes are high for the two of them, whether they really acknowledge or not. But this idea of clinging onto a lifeboat because there's hope in it and potentially a future, which I know that Abigail doesn't believe in because [she thinks] how could she end up with someone in Montana? But I think there's a part of her that's really hopeful.

[In season two] you feel the love between the two people and the heartbreaking reality of it. I think that that battle continues, but you definitely get to lean in more to their story in the second season and their hope or second season and their hope for finding some type of way to be together, but it is obviously met with challenges.

What drew you initially to the role of Abigail?

Garrett photographed by her co-star Patrick J. Adams.Patrick J. Adams

I mean, so many things drew me to it. In all honesty, I had had a baby and I hadn't worked in a while. I live in a very remote town on Vancouver Island. I'm from Los Angeles, but I had really done an Abby in that I had left my life and moved to a very small place and had a baby and have been adjusting to this different lifestyle. And I love where I live, but it is very different. There's one urgent care, you can't give birth here. I had to leave to give birth. And if really you get hurt, you have to be helicoptered out. And it is a really different life. I mean, we live on the edge of the planet. There was something to me that really resonated with this two worlds that I thought was really interesting.

I really love Abigail's sarcasm. I find that's something that I think is so attractive and so defiant and funny. And her way that she's such a quiet, subtle character who takes a lot before she explodes. And I thought that was really interesting. I loved the kind of child dynamic between Paige and her and these brawls that happen, five-year-olds just going at each other.

I also loved this mother-daughter dynamic that I found to be really invoking and complex and heartbreaking, and I really related to it. It was a story that I hadn't really told before and was excited to dive into it and see what it creatively pushed me towards. Michelle Pfeiffer was always somebody that I had admired. She's such a fantastic actress and I've watched her in so many different films over my lifetime and never would've thought she'd be a mother figure to me.

And then I mean, Taylor Sheridan! I've been a huge fan of his work for a long time and it was always the dream: "One day I'll be on a Taylor Sheridan show and I'll ride horses into the sunset." And I don't know that Abigail's going to do that, but this is pretty damn close to that dream. I've always been inspired by his work. Obviously, he creates material that lots of people love, and there are haters for sure. You can't avoid that when making anything.

But I really fell in love with the people, I fell in love with Montana. It's a place that I'd never been to that I really was like, "Oh, I kind of want to know it." And now I'm so deeply in love that my husband is allowing me potentially to look at property if we go to season three, because I really connected to it. I'm a hiker, I'm a runner. My child loved it. I mean, she was one when I got it, and now she's three. So she's grown up three months of the year there.

What was it like working with Michelle Pfeiffer as your mom?

Garrett and Pfieffer in a scene centered on Abigail and Stacy.Emerson Miller/Paramount+

I still pinch myself. She's so captivating. She's just so interesting to watch, and she carries so much into these moments. And we didn't have a lot of rehearsal time. Sometimes we would get scripts while we were shooting, so there wasn't a lot of time to prep, but this whole cast fell into step really quickly. And we all had a really beautiful chemistry and dynamic that is just a gift. It's not something you can create. It was just there.

The stakes were so high working with her, because she would always show up ready and things would be different every time. And so you just have to listen. And I really think that is half the battle of acting, is actually getting out of your own head and paying attention to what somebody else is doing. The mother-daughter relationship was super clear really quickly. And if anything, it was made more complex when I met her because I was like, okay, there's these elements that I didn't anticipate I would feel in these moments, and that shapes who potentially I was when I was a kid and how she treated me and how we treated each other. She's a fantastic human and a fantastic person and just so wonderful to work with.

What do you hope to continue to explore with Abigail and her journey?

Garrett as Abigail in The Madison.Emerson Miller/Paramount+

Abigail is such a romantic, and I hope that she finds love. I really do. That doesn't mean just specifically with Van, but I think in general that I want to see her just laugh. I want to see her laugh and let loose and feel alive and connect with the earth. And I think these are parts of Abigail that maybe were deep down in her that she got from her father and never knew until she came to this place and was like, "Oh, I kind of resonate with it." I want her to get on a horse. I want her to be uncomfortable and do uncomfortable things and push herself because she's never really pushed herself. And that's something that I think would be really interesting to watch her do—is just to try different things and maybe find something that she loves because she's been searching for identity for a really long time.

The couple wrote their own vows for their wedding and included personal touches like family readings and a choir

Lady Amelia Spencer is celebrating her third wedding anniversary with a sweet tribute to her husband.

On Saturday, March 21, Princess Diana's niece, 33, reflected on three years of marriage to her husband Greg Mallett in a post to Instagram full of photos from their 2023 nuptials in Cape Town, South Africa.

"Three years 🤍🤍🤍 married to my best friend 🤍🤍🤍," she captioned the post, alongside photos of herself in her long-sleeved, floral-patterned wedding gown at the ceremony and reception.

Mallett, an estate agent and fitness instructor, could be seen embracing his wife, sharing a kiss with her and walking with her during the ceremony and reception in the romantic photos.

"The best day ever 😍🥰♥️," Amelia's twin sister Eliza wrote in the comment section. "Happy Anniversary my Mealsy and Grizzle♥️ I love you both so much 😍🥰♥️."

The twins are the daughters of Princess Diana's brother, Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, and his first wife, Victoria Aitken. The couple are also parents to daughter Kitty, born in 1990, and son Louis, who arrived in 1994.

Amelia and Mallett tied the knot in South Africa, Hello! magazine reported in 2023. The wedding's mountain-top location near Cape Town was a special choice as the country is where the bride spent much of her childhood — and the couple first met while studying at the University of Cape Town.

"It means so much to get married here," Amelia told Hello! magazine at the time. "Growing up here together for the last 14 years, all of mine and Greg's happiest times as a couple are here. It's even more special now."

According to Vogue, Amelia wore a custom bridal gown by Atelier Versace that took more than two months to craft, and was adorned with Swarovski crystals and intricate floral appliqué. She complimented the look with a silk tulle veil and Jimmy Choo shoes.

"I have always loved Versace, and so it was a very easy decision and a dream come true," she told the magazine in 2023. "My gown was crafted, over the course of two and a half months, from custom silk rebrodé lace and featured a two-and-a-half-meter train, Swarovski crystals, a hand-embroidered neckline, and structured shoulders, with intricate flower patterns running throughout."

The groom, meanwhile, wore custom black Atelier Versace fine wool and mohair wedding suit.

"Greg's father, Dave Mallett, officiated our wedding," Amelia said of the ceremony. "And, we had a beautiful Asili choir sing 'Hallelujah.' Our mothers and Greg's sister and grandmother delivered profoundly meaningful readings that they had personally chosen, and we wrote our own vows. At the end, we walked out to 'Still Falling for You' by Ellie Goulding. It was surreal—as soon as we locked eyes, we both felt a sense of calm, and we have never felt so much love and happiness."

After 11 years of dating, the couple announced their engagement in July 2020.

"Best day of my life ❤️ I can't wait to spend forever with you @gregmallett I couldn't love you more," the model wrote of an Instagram photo of her and Greg kissing, her new diamond ring on display.

Though they often prefer to keep their lives out of the spotlight, the couple have shared some details about their love story.

Opening up about the proposal, Mallett spoke to Hello! about the moment he popped the question at Clouds Estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa, following a romantic lunch and day at the pool.

"I had one big pink box, inside which I put in eight smaller boxes, decreasing in size," he said in 2020. "In each box was a photograph of a 'first time.' The final box contained a note instead of a picture, that said: 'But most importantly, I know that you will remember tonight as the night that I proposed.' As Amelia was reading the note, I dropped to one knee with the ring."

Amelia told Hello! she "burst out crying" when she realized what was happening.

"I was in shock, I said: 'Yes, yes, yes!' and gave him a hug and a kiss. I'm used to Greg being very romantic, but I really had no idea."

"Project Hail Mary" is bringing audiences to movie theaters in numbers the industry hasn't seen for a non-franchise film since "Oppenheimer." The science fiction epic starring Ryan Gosling earned around $80.5 million in ticket sales in its first weekend playing in North America, according to studio estimates Sunday. Box office tracker EntTelligence estimates that translates into about 5 million ticket buyers.

The PG-13 rated film opened on 4,007 screens and easily topped the domestic box office charts, surpassing expectations and delivering a record opening for studio Amazon MGM, whose previous best was "Creed III" ($58 million in 2023). Not accounting for inflation, "Project Hail Mary" also scored the second biggest opening for a non-franchise movie behind only "Oppenheimer," which opened to $82.4 million in 2023.

It's now one of only three non-franchise movies in the past decade to open over $70 million (the third is Jordan Peele's "Us" ). In the realm of modern space operas, it exceeded the debuts of "The Martian," also an Andy Weir adaptation that opened around $54.3 million in 2015, "Gravity" ($55.6 million in 2013) and "Interstellar" ($47.5 million in 2014).

Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, "Project Hail Mary" cost about double the "Oppenheimer" production budget, with a price tag in the $200 million range. But it also carries strong reviews and audience scores and could be destined for a long run. According to PostTrak exit polls, where it scored five out of five stars, 83% of audiences said they would "definitely recommend" the film to friends. The gender breakdown skewed slightly more male (57%), and 55% of the audience were under 35.

The film is centered around Gosling's character who wakes up alone and with little memory on a spaceship, where his apparent mission is to try to save the sun from dying. As has become the norm for "event" movies like "Project Hail Mary," premium large format screens were in demand, making up 56% of the weekend's gross. IMAX screens alone accounted for 24% of the total.

"We believe deeply in the Hail Mary, and it's clear audiences do as well," said Kevin Wilson, Amazon MGM Studios' head of domestic distribution, in a statement. "What we're seeing in theaters — the energy, the exit scores, the word-of-mouth — is everything we believed this film would deliver."

Hollywood's other big new opener, "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come," a Searchlight release, came in a distant fourth with $9.1 million, behind Disney and Pixar's "Hoppers" ($18 million) and the Bollywood sequel "Dhurandhar: The Revenge," which made $9.6 million from Friday through Sunday. Universal's Colleen Hoover adaptation "Reminders of Him" rounded out the top five in its second weekend with $8 million.

Viva Pictures also released an animated adaptation of the popular children's book "The Pout-Pout Fish" in 1,854 theaters and is expected to place in the top 10.

The A&E reality series *Duck Dynasty* is among the more surprising TV success stories of the 2010s. Centering on the bearded Robertson family, who own a prosperous duck hunting company in Louisiana, the series premiered on March 21, 2012, and finished up in 2017, breaking through the pop culture zeitgeist and drawing massive ratings.

While the series may have seemed a little niche on the surface, its popularity can be attributed to the entertaining dynamic of the Robertson family. In the grand tradition of TV comedies of old, we had Willie as the CEO trying to mitigate any family dysfunction, Phil as the gruff father, "Miss Kay" as the kind-hearted mother, Si as the scene-stealing uncle, and more colorful characters. While loyal viewers may have missed the Robertsons, A&E brought the series back in 2025 for *Duck Dynasty: The Revival*.

So what happened in between the original series and the revival? Ahead, we're catching up with the Robertsons and revealing what they've been up to in the years in between.

Willie is the CEO of Duck Commander, which often makes him the reluctant cat-herder of his large and fractious family. He and his wife, Korie, have six children — Rebecca, John Luke, Sadie, Bella, Will, and Rowdy — and 11 grandchildren. They still live in West Monroe, La.

After *Duck Dynasty* ended, Willie reopened his restaurant, Willie's Duck Diner, in West Monroe in September 2017. The menu featured dishes named after family members, including Missy's Duck Bites and Phil's Swamp Catch. It closed in early 2019. He also starred in the 2025 Western drama *Bad Men Must Bleed*.

Meanwhile, Korie has released several books over the years, including the parenting guide *Strong and Kind*. She often co-authors with other family members, including her mother, Chrys Howard.

In 2021, Willie appeared incognito as the Mallard on Fox's *The Masked Singer*. The same year, Willie and Korie released a Facebook Watch talk show, *At Home With the Robertsons*, which lasted for 16 episodes. In 2024, Willie put out his own book, *Gospeler: Turning Darkness Into Light One Conversation at a Time*, about his journey to find his faith.

Phil Robertson

Phil and Kay are the great-grandparents of the Robertson clan. Phil was the founder of the Duck Commander company. He and Kay were married for almost 60 years.

After *Duck Dynasty*'s early seasons established the show as a hit, Phil made headlines with controversial comments in *GQ* about race and homosexuality. A&E briefly suspended him from the show, but fan backlash prompted the network to reinstate him.

Once *Duck Dynasty* ended, Phil began his own show, *In the Woods With Phil*, produced by Blaze Media for the Conservative Review online TV platform. In 2019, Phil began a podcast about Christianity, *Unashamed With Phil Robertson*, along with his sons Al and Jase. The podcast is still going strong, now called *Unashamed With the Robertson Family.*

The clan continued to grow, sometimes in unexpected ways. In 2020, Phil was surprised to discover he'd fathered a daughter decades ago. He happily embraced Phyllis Thomas, and the family welcomed her into the fold.

Phil also the biopic treatment. *The Blind *(2023), which counts Willie and Korie among its producers, explores Phil's younger years during the 1960s, including his past struggles with alcohol and infidelity.

The Robertson family announced in December 2024 that Phil had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. He died in May 2025 at the age of 79.

Fans know "Miss Kay" as the sweet-natured, level-headed matriarch of the Robertsons, always happily cooking for her large and hungry family. In 2013, she published a cookbook, *Miss Kay's Duck Commander Kitchen.* For a few years, she also ran a restaurant and bakery in West Monroe, Miss Kay's Sweets and Eats, with a lunch menu featuring her famous pies. The establishment has since permanently closed.

Kay was bitten by her dog Bobo in 2021, resulting in injuries to her mouth and lips. She was able to recover from the incident.

Jase is Willie's younger brother, a good-natured but headstrong troublemaker tasked with fine-tuning duck calls and inventing new ones at Duck Commander. Jase and Missy have been married since 1990, and they have four kids.

Surprisingly, after the show ended in 2017, Jase shaved off his famous beard. He did it to raise money for charity, the Mia Moo Fund, named after his daughter Mia. The organization helps spread awareness about those with cleft lips and palates.

Jase has kept busy with several spinoff projects. He cohosts the *Unashamed* podcast and stars on Fox Nation's reality series *Duck Family Treasure *(2022–present), searching for buried riches with a metal detector.

As for Missy, she has launched several businesses over the years, including a jewelry line, Laminin by Missy Robertson, and a clothing line. In 2018, she and Mia published four books for young readers in Faithgirlz's *Princess in Camo* series.

Missy and Jase now run a bed-and-breakfast and event venue called Logtown Estate, in Ouachita Parish, La.

Si is Phil's unforgettable younger brother, a wise-cracking scamp who became one of the show's most popular figures. Si is married to Christine; together they have a daughter, Trasa, and a son, Scott.

In 2016, Si starred in a short-lived spinoff series, *Going Si-ral*, in which he shared his thoughts on current viral videos. The show lasted for two months. He's also expressed his musical talents, releasing a six-song EP, *Me and My Smokin' Hot Honey*, in 2014. A few years later, Si formed a country music trio, Uncle Si & the Sicotics, with his daughters-in-law, Marsha Robertson and Bridgette Tatum.

Si shared his life experience in a 2016 memoir, *Si-renity: How I Stay Calm and Keep the Faith.* Since 2020, he has cohosted the *Duck Call Room* podcast with Duck Commander co-workers John Godwin and Justin Martin.

He also wrote about his past addiction to drugs and online porn, which almost broke his marriage. His family staged an intervention that has helped him remain sober.
