Dinner and a movie... they just go together naturally. But as one gains maturity, there comes the realization that there are better restaurants than McDonald's and better films than *Minions*. (For many of us, this comes around age 40.)

Luckily, access to quality movies abound in the age of streaming. We here at * *would like to light the stove of that inspiration with a collection of films that focus on great culinary achievement. As such, here are 10 chef movies to get you fired up in the kitchen.

Babette's Feast (1987)

Winner of the Academy Award for what was then called Best Foreign Language Film, this Danish movie, based on an Isak Dinesen story, is set in a 19th century village populated by uptight religious people. A French refugee has spent years making unfussy meals for a pair of sisters. After winning a lottery, she begs the town to let her throw a luxurious feast.

Despite worries that such opulence is sinful, the sisters allow it. What follows is a seven-course act of generosity and openness that transforms the town. Vegans will not love the part involving foie gras, but hopefully they'll see the wider picture.

Big Night (1996)

BIG NIGHT, Marc Anthony, Tony Shalhoub, Minnie Driver, 1996

Stanley Tucci's onscreen love affair with Italian cooking started here in this marvelous low-budget passion project that he co-wrote and co-directed. He stars as a 1950s restaurant manager working with his older brother (Tony Shalhoub), a brilliant and uncompromising chef betting it all on an elegant Italian *ristorante*. He meets requests for simple plates of spaghetti with scorn.

Their only chance for survival is word-of-mouth from a celebrity, and soon there are rumors that Louis Prima will be in the area. They prepare an enormous, free evening of gorgeous food… and then the unexpected happens. *Big Night *was a sensation, and introduced most audiences to the *timpano*, an elaborate baked pasta dish that needs to be seen to be believed.

Boiling Point (2021)

BOILING POINT, Stephen Graham, 2021.

Chef Stephen Graham in the middle of an intense night in 'Boiling Point'.

Saban Films/Courtesy Everett Collection

This 90-minute thriller was all shot in one take, which is as difficult as searing a tuna from just one match. The film stars Stephen Graham as a head chef on an overbooked night, dealing with the typical headaches of running a high end restaurant *and *an unexpected visit from a health inspector. (Both the stakes and the steaks are raised, har har har.)

The funniest parts involve a table of obnoxious influencers who have picked the wrong night to be a nuisance. Not so funny is a diner's very dangerous allergic reaction.

Chef (2014)

John Leguizamo, Jon Favreau, Bobby Cannavale, and Roy Choi go over the menu in 'Chef'.

Starring and directed by Jon Favreau, this is a great, life-affirming story about a talented chef abandoning the world of snobby restaurants to open a food truck. After a very funny social media meltdown, and subsequent firing by his boss (Dustin Hoffman), Carl (Favreau) discovers a love of Cuban cooking and embraces a more populist style.

This all leads to a showdown with the food critic who initiated his "downfall." Do not watch this while hungry, as you will require a Cubano sandwich immediately.

Where to watch *Chef*: Netflix

Jiro Dreams of Sushi (2011)

JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI

Jiro Ono, left, the legendary subject of 'Jiro Dreams of Sushi'. Magnolia

Though I, the author of this list, don't really understand enthusiasm for sushi (it's an adequate delivery system for protein, but not a food I crave), I recognize that for many it's a way of life. It certainly is for Jiro Ono, a sushi chef whose restaurant is considered the finest in the world, even though it's tucked away in a subway station.

While watching this delightful and beautiful film, one is easily convinced that even simple items like a bowl of steamed rice can become fine art in the right hands. There's a level of craft and dedication here normally found at, say, NASA, not restaurants. It's one of the most extraordinary looks at a place of business ever recorded.

Where to watch *Jiro Dreams of Sushi*: Amazon Prime

Menus-Plaisirs – Les Troisgros (2023)

Menus-Plaisirs -- Les Troisgros | PBS

Two chefs at Le Bois sans feuilles, featured in Frederick Wiseman's 'Menus-Plaisirs - Les Troisgros'.

The four-hour French documentary *Menus-Plaisirs – Les Troisgros *is an expansive, rich repast of a film that luxuriates in conversational ease and exploration. It examines of one of France's most beloved restaurants soaks up every contour of the enterprise, from picking out wines and cheeses, to handling reservations, to crafting each night's menu.

There's no plot other than "this is how it's done," but it concludes with a celebration of all that makes life worth living. This was the final, perfect film for director Frederick Wiseman, who was already past 90.

Where to watch *Menus-Plaisirs – Les Troisgros*: Weta+

Nonnas (2025)

Susan Sarandon as Gia, Brenda Vaccaro as Antonella, Lorraine Bracco as Roberta and Talia Shire as Teresa in Nonnas.

Susan Sarandon, Brenda Vaccaro, Lorraine Bracco, and Talia Shire redefine home cooking in 'Nonnas'.

Jeong Park/Netflix

Nobody ever cooked as well as your grandmother, even if all she did was pour you a bowl of Rice Krispies. This heartwarming, somewhat-based-on-a-true-story tale centers on Vince Vaughn risking his life savings to open a restaurant that recaptures the special bond between old Italian women and food.

Featuring Lorraine Bracco, Talia Shire, Susan Sarandon, and Brenda Vaccaro flinging tomatoes at each other in the kitchen before learning to work together, *Nonnas *is a very agreeable, very New York movie that will leave you craving a nice Sunday gravy.

Where to watch *Nonnas*: Netflix

Pig (2021)

PIG, Nicolas Cage, 2021.

Nicolas Cage and his prized truffle pig, before the poor thing gets stolen, in 'Pig'.

David Reamer/Neon /Courtesy Everett Collection

Certainly the weirdest movie on this list, the Nicolas Cage-led *Pig *plays like a violent revenge thriller… until it doesn't. It's about a (former) high-end chef, now a hermit, whose prized truffle pig is stolen. He descends from the mountains looking for his lil oinking buddy, suddenly a man possessed by one single purpose.

The unexpected tonal shift between his reclusive serenity and *haute cuisine *is just one of the satisfying twists in Michael Sarnoski's low-budget gem. The movie also works as a declaration of higher values like authenticity and honesty — something you may not expect at first when watching Nic Cage screaming about a pig.

Where to watch *Pig*: Netflix

Ratatouille (2007)

Ratatouille

Remy the Rat picks out his herbs and spices in 'Ratatouille'. Pixar/Disney

Ayyy, good ol' Remy the Rat! When was the last time you saw this? Maybe it's been a while. He hides under the chef's hat and pulls on the guy's hair and "drives him" in the kitchen. Cute! Then there's the scene with the mean critic who is thunderstruck with a Proustian rush of flavors. Very meaningful. The opening song, "Le Festin," is very good, too.

But rats don't belong in a kitchen. Yes yes, we know this is a kiddie movie, but we need to firmly establish the difference between art and reality. This is just pretend!

Where to watch *Ratatouille*: Disney+

Tampopo (1985)

TAMPOPO, from left: Ken Watanabe, Ryutaro Otomo, 1985

Ken Watanabe and Ryutaro Otomo in 'Tampopo'. Everett Collection

One of the all-time great zany films, *Tampopo *is about a widow struggling to run a ramen shop, who teams up with a truck driver to help turn the place around. Their training sessions are shot like a martial arts film, and the movie is eager to take as many tangents as possible when introducing the characters. (One might say all these ingredients blend together to make a delectable broth!)

This was a surprise international hit at the time, when off-the-wall Japanese entertainment didn't regularly break through in the West. Many famous chefs point to this film as being their first exposure to lavish cuisine cinema.

Where to watch *Tampopo*: HBO Max

ST. LOUIS -- Fletcher Loyer was the model of efficiency on Sunday.

The Purdue guard scored a game-high 24 points on just seven shot attempts, lifting the second-seeded Boilermakers to a 79-69 win over seventh-seeded Miami in the second round of the NCAA Tournament's West Region.

Loyer made 6 of 7 shots from the field, including all four of his 3-point tries, and canned eight free throws without a miss as Purdue (29-8) earned a spot in the regional semifinals Thursday against 11th-seeded Texas (21-14).

"To score 24 points on just seven shots is off the charts," said Purdue coach Matt Painter, who collected his 500th win in 21 seasons at his alma mater.

"I think it's just putting in a lot of work, putting in a lot of time and trusting myself," Loyer said.

Trey Kaufman-Renn added 19 points and nine rebounds for the Boilermakers, who hit 25 of 47 shots from the field and connected on 21 of 22 at the foul line. C.J. Cox contributed 11 points before leaving early in the second half with a hyperextended knee.

Purdue won without a typical Braden Smith game. The senior point guard, who became the NCAA's career assist leader in Friday's opening-round game, made only 3 of 11 shots and scored 12 points while committing a career-high-tying eight turnovers. Smith did dish out eight assists.

"The first thing was I wanted to start and I wanted to put some size on him," said Miami coach Jai Lucas. "Really, watching all the games I haven't seen anybody with size guard him."

Freshman Shelton Henderson paced the Hurricanes (26-9) with 18 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Malik Reneau added 16 points and Tre Donaldson scored 13 but made only 4 of 12 attempts. Tru Washington came off the bench to tally 11 points.

Miami led 40-38 at halftime, but the Boilermakers ramped up their defense in the second half. The Hurricanes canned just 11 of 30 tries after halftime and committed seven of their 12 turnovers.

Kaufman-Renn knocked down a mid-range jumper at the 3:50 mark of the second half to put Purdue ahead 72-61. Miami made a late push and cut the margin to 73-69 on a putback by Washington with 57.7 seconds remaining.

However, Smith helped seal the outcome at the foul line by hitting four straight foul shots in the last minute.

The Boilermakers won despite being outrebounded 33-25. The Hurricanes grabbed 14 offensive rebounds, but they converted those into only 13 points.

"It was a tough one, a tough one," Lucas said. "It was a 10-point game but felt a lot closer."

"It's unfortunate. It shouldn't have happened," golfer Brooks Koepka said

A young girl was run over by a golf cart at the 2026 Valspar Championship.

The child was struck and pinned under the golf cart near the 15th hole during the second day of the golf tournament in Palm Harbor, Fla., on Saturday, March 21, Golf Channel reported.

PGA Tour winner Smylie Kaufman reported on the incident as he was covering Brooks Koepka and Danny Walker during a third round at the Innisbrook Resort's Copperhead Course.

As medical staff tended to the child, Koepka, 35, also rushed over to her, according to the Golf Channel.

"Brooks Koepka went underneath the ropes to talk to the girl and comfort her," Kaufman, 34, said. "She's going to be okay after medical evaluation."

"[It was a] very scary moment ... I am sure Brooks Koepka's head is still spinning a little bit," he added.

The identity and age of the child struck has not been shared publicly.

The golf cart that hit the young girl was transporting spectators around the course when the incident occurred, per the Golf Channel.

The child wasn't seriously injured, Golfweek reported.

Reacting to the incident during a press conference after his match, Koepka said he "felt terrible" for the young girl.

"From all the reports you've got, she's okay, thankfully, so that's all that matters, as long as she's okay," he added. "I know she's probably a little scared. I just felt for her at the time."

"It's unfortunate. It shouldn't have happened. But as long as she's okay, nothing crazy happened to her, then it will be okay," the golfer continued.

Koepka made double-bogey at the par-4 16th on March 21, putting him seven shots away from Sungjae Im's lead.

"I'm a long ways away. I felt like I needed to get to, at least, it would have been nice to stay at 6," Koepka said, per Golf. "I need a real low one tomorrow."

PEOPLE reached out to the Valspar Championship for comment but did not receive an immediate response on Sunday, March 22.

Khloé Kardashian reflected on bouts of binge eating before she finalized her divorce from Lamar Odom in 2016 during the March 18 episode of her podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land

She expressed wanting to feel comfortable in her clothing, after years of being compared to her sisters

"I honestly feel the more you exercise, the clearer your mind will feel and the stronger you will feel mentally," she said

Khloé Kardashian is revealing how her 2016 divorce from Lamar Odom transformed her outlook on diet and exercise.

During the March 18 episode of her podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, the Good American founder, 41, opened up about overhauling her lifestyle in response to a listener's question about binge eating.

The listener said they were feeling "rejected" after a series of bad dates and had anxiety about their appearance.

Confessing that she could relate, Khloé said, "When I was younger, I used to binge eat. I went to therapy about it. For any emotional thing, I turned to food and there was just no stopping me. I would eat, eat, eat, literally get sick and then feel disgusted with myself for how much I ate."

Khloé recalled being in a "vicious cycle" of eating "horrible foods" to bury her feelings before she divorced Odom, 46.

She initially filed to dissolve their marriage in December 2013, but the divorce stalled as they tried to work on their relationship and Odom was hospitalized following an overdose. They finalized their divorce in December 2016.

"My divorce was really the catalyst for why I became obsessed in a healthy way with working out," Khloé said. "I realized during my marriage that I ate so much and I would eat my feelings and I didn't like how that made me feel."

She recalled becoming tired with the impact her poor diet was having on her overall quality of life, including having "bad skin" and feeling that she could "never be in a bathing suit."

Having also experienced comparison to her sisters — Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner — Kardashian said she desired to have a "toned" physique and to feel comfortable in her clothing.

"I would say, like the first six months to a year, it's just uncomfortable, because you feel you're still insecure," Khloé said of getting active. "You're busting your ass in the gym. You're not really seeing a big shift on the scale, but you've got to keep going."

"For me, it was mental that kept me going. I loved how I felt," Khloé continued. "I felt so accomplished that I did something I set out to do, but for me, it was baby steps."

She recalled getting into the "rhythm of working out" before focusing on her diet. The reality TV star then offered the listener practical advice for overcoming insecurities.

"You're eating healthy, you're exercising, I honestly feel the more you exercise, the clearer your mind will feel and the stronger you will feel mentally. If you can, I think going to therapy is so helpful. I know it did wonders for me," she said.

Following her divorce from Odom, Khloé was in an on and off relationship with Tristan Thompson until 2021. The Good American founder has not been publicly linked to anyone romantically since their split.

Tina Fey just made TV history across the pond.

Over the weekend, the iconic Saturday Night Live alum brought her bona fides to London, becoming the first-ever host of SNL UK, the British version of the beloved, long-running sketch comedy series.

But Fey found an even more flattering way to describe the gig as she stepped out on stage to deliver the show's inaugural monologue.

"Guys, I am the youngest person ever to host SNL UK," she quipped, earning a round of applause from the live audience. "My name is Tina Fey. Here in the U.K., you might know me as the teacher from Mean Girls, or you might remember a long time ago when I played Sarah Palin on SNL U.S."

She added, "Or maybe you feel like you recognize me as the lady from the show Veep," she said, referencing Julia Louis-Dreyfus. "And that's fine too."

Tina Fey on 'SNL U.K.'Credit: Sky TV/YouTube

Dipping her toes into politics, Fey then posed the questions, "Why do a U.K. version of SNL?" She answered, "Like so many large-scale American operations these days, no one really knows why."

Fey, who has an extensive background with SNL dating back to 1997, then broke down how the show will work for its U.K. audience and expressed excitement over the fresh lineup of cast members.

"I'm so excited for you to meet your cast, they are wonderful," she said, then joked, "I can't even begin to understand them when they speak. One boy is either Scottish or choking. But their energy is A+."

She then promised to answer any questions that fans may have, promoting the first celebrity cameo of the night. Immediately, an audience member raised their hand with a question and the cameras cut over to reveal Bridgerton and Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan.

"It is lovely to see you," Coughlan told Fey. "But my question is if this is SNLU.K. then why are you the first host? Shouldn't it be like a British icon like David Beckham? Or Judi Dench? Or, like, Shrek?"

"Shrek is British?" Fey asked.

"Scotland is in Britain, Tina," Coughlan snarked. "Educate yourself."

Michael Cera on 'SNL U.K.'Credit: Sky TV/YouTube

Answering her question, Fey said, "How do I put this politely: None of you f---ers would do it. Does that make sense?"

After Coughlan, Michael Cera revealed himself in the crowd, prompting some confusion from Fey, who asked, "Michael, why are you here? You're not British."

The Scott Pilgrim vs. The World actor replied, "I'm Canadian, it's part of the commonwealth. Educate yourself."

Fey then had her monologue derailed by the night's third celebrity cameo — British talk show host Graham Norton, who swiftly jumped up onstage with note cards, promising to help Fey endear herself to U.K. viewers.

"Let me help you," Norton said. "I have a gift for making American celebrities likdable to a British audience."

He then had the comedian showcase her impressive knowledge of British comedies by reciting iconic lines from titles including Keeping Up Appearance, Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, Are You Being Served, and Eastenders. Fey even offered her take on the much-memed "Jet 2 Holiday" voiceover before officially kicking off the first episode of SNLU.K.

Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our EW Dispatch newsletter.

Unfortunately for Fey, her status as the show's youngest host will only last one week. Fifty Shades of Grey alum Jamie Dornan will usurp her next week, when he hosts the show on March 28, followed by Riz Ahmed taking the reins on April 4.

Watch Fey deliver her monologue above.

Everything We Know About The Madison Season 2Emerson Miller/Paramount+

The end of a television season can often be a stressful time for fans, wondering whether or not their favorite characters will be returning for more memorable moments. Fortunately for fans of The Madison, there's no such stress. Not only has the series already been picked up for a second season, they already filmed the next batch of episodes last year! That said, the powers that be have been keeping the details about the next season largely under wraps. Here's what we know for certain so far:

When does The Madison season 2 premiere?

Though filming on season 2 already wrapped some time ago, no premiere date for the second outing has been announced yet. At this point, it's possible that we could see the show return in 2026, but also equally possible that we could be in for a longer wait.

Who is in it?

The primary cast from the first season is expected to return, including Michelle Pfeiffer, Beau Garrett, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Danielle Vasinova, and Rebecca Spence. Also returning, albeit in flashback form, will be Kurt Russell and Matthew Fox.

"We ended up shooting our material from season one at the beginning of them shooting season two," Fox told T&C of himself and Russell. The reason? Russell's packed shooting schedule with his Apple TV series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.

"Michelle Pfeiffer and Taylor were able to get together with the people at Paramount+ and said, 'Well, let's do two seasons instead of just one, and then before we start the second season next year, instead of doing that, we will start with Kurt's stuff," Russell explained to EW. "And so we were able to do that."

Will season 2 be the last?

Nothing has been announced so far about carrying The Madison beyond the currently-filmed two seasons, but, per The Hollywood Reporter, "even though they filmed what seems to be two-season limited series, Sheridan is planning for many seasons." They added, "Pfeiffer makes it clear they are all very much hoping for a third season."

Fans of Yellowstone have found a new love in Taylor Sheridan's latest series, The Madison. Following its March 14 premiere on Paramount+, the show ended on a high with the arrival of its last three episodes on Saturday, which left viewers wondering where the Clyburn family will end up next. But fans are in luck—a second season of The Madison has already been ordered thanks to Sheridan and the show's star, Michelle Pfeiffer, meaning the new hit series might come back sooner rather than later.

Here's everything we know about The Madison season 2 so far.

Emerson Miller/Paramount+Has The Madison season 2 started filming?

Yes! The Madison season 2 has already wrapped its filming and production, after Paramount was convinced by Pfeiffer and Sheridan to do more than one season and shoot both installments back-to-back because of Kurt Russell's filming schedule.

"I did the second season of Monarch [Legacy of Monsters], the Apple TV+ show, and unfortunately for me, the timing was when Madison came around," Russell said in a January 2026 interview with Entertainment Weekly. "And I said, 'There's just no way to do it,' because I was working on this show."

"Michelle Pfeiffer and Taylor were able to get together with the people at Paramount+ and said, 'Well, let's do two seasons instead of just one,'" he added. "'And then before we start the second season next year, instead of doing that, we will start with Kurt's stuff. We really do want him to play the guy. And we'll get his first season out of the way first, and jam all that in there, and then go into the second season and do that.' And so we were able to do that."

Ben Schnetzer, who stars in The Madison as Van Davis, told Woman's World that filming for season 2 recently concluded.

"We shot season 2 already," he told the outlet in an interview published March 13. "We just wrapped it not long ago, and I'm incredibly excited to share both seasons with an audience. It was a real thrill to be able to come back and revisit these characters and revisit this story, and revisit this beautiful landscape that we filmed in."

Who is in the cast?

The cast for season 2 has not been confirmed yet, but expect the full set of players—Pfeiffer, Russell, Beau Garrett, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, and Rebecca Spence—to return, with one exception.

Matthew Fox confirmed that he will not be present in season 2 of The Madison, telling TV Insider on March 10, "This is a contained experience for me in the show, and I'm very happy about that…It's been an incredible experience."

When will season 2 of The Madison be released?

There is no release date yet for The Madison season 2, but stay tuned for updates.

Will there be more than two seasons of The Madison?

In a March 17 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Adams revealed that he and his fellow cast members "would shoot [The Madison] gladly forever. We've found something kind of miraculously special here and as long as it's a story that people want to hear, we'd be happy to tell it."

Executive producer of the show Christina Voros added, "any time you get a show together with a cast like this, you kind of want it to go forever. And I think having completed the second season, you just fall more and more in love with them as a family. What's interesting about it is that it's very much going to resonate with people who have been watching shows in the Yellowstone-verse for a very long time, but it's also going to draw in people who would not necessarily gravitate to the more muscular and masculine action-driven content of some of Taylor's bigger shows like Yellowstone or Lioness. It is a simpler story in many ways on the surface, but infinitely more complicated, emotionally, underneath it. There are an abundance of river references to be made when describing The Madison."
