TikTok Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa were voted off Dancing With the Stars this week, and if you’ve already shed some tears about their emotional departure, prepare to WEEP at Ezra’s goodbye TikTok.
The pro dancer sat Julia down and recited a poem for her based on the one Julia reads to Heath Ledger’s character, Patrick, in 10 Things I Hate About You .
I hate the way you doubt yourself, when I see everything you are I hate that you can’t see the light that shines from so far I hate the way you say you’re fine when I know you’re in pain That on your hardest days, you’d get back up again I hate the way you made me laugh, when all I wanted was to cry I hate the way you trusted me, when you were terrified to try I hate the way you held my hand when things would fall apart That somewhere in the season you became a piece of my heart I hate that people saw the dances but not the battles you fought I hate that you’ll never understand just how much you taught But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you Not even close, not even a little, not even at all
Oh, and reminder that the original poem from the film reads:
I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair I hate the way you drive my car. I hate it when you stare I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind I hate you so much it makes me sick; it even makes me rhyme I hate the way you’re always right, I hate it when you lie I hate the way you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry I hate it when you’re not around, and the fact that you didn’t call But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all
